Let's put this behind us....

The recent comments on this thread are a credit to the likes of NB. abee, Leicester Bee and sonofabee. Sorry if I've left anyone out. It puts everything in perspective. Should be prescribed reading for all doubter. The club is in safe hands. Players leaving will be replaced with better. Injuries will I'm sure be covered by loans. The pitch is being sorted so no more negativity.

Brown nose alert .... lol

Let's put this behind us....

I blame a certain individual for out sourcing the work, the same bloke that blew the whistle on MB talking to other managers
and was later put on garden leave.

Let's put this behind us....

I have just been having a tidy up of the desk at work ready for the next project and came across a Hey Jude fanzine from August 2001. The first page is titled ‘Keeping the Faith’ and is written by Pete Johnston.

It is all about Noades and the ‘No to Woking’ campaign. I will just quote one piece which I found summed up my understanding of what it is to be a Bees fan.

“Sharing at Woking cannot be allowed to happen and I’m confident Bees fans will win the argument. Why? Because one thing that has come out of this peaceful campaign is the huge array of talent and passion out there amongst the Bees rank and file”

Forward wind 14 years and I compare my club now to then and we are unrecognisable. Sometimes it is better to remember where we came from and just keep things in perspective.

Who'd have thought all those years back that Pete would go on to become a season ticket holder at Stamford Bridge :(

Let's put this behind us....

Correct, we have no right top be top six in this division at all, last season was sensational but things would have changed anyway, Pritch wasn't coming back, Mo would have been off, Gray would have been wanted by clubs, there would have been a natural change to a lot anyway, Warbs has gone and add that my perceived "natural change" and we have really got a period where we need to bed down, stabilize and go again. That team last season limped in to the POs and we had IMO no real chance in them, changes always happen but they IMO wouldn't have done it again, our only option is to stop looking at the negatives and support the new boys with all that we have, that's not rose tinted or brown nosed, it's just what we have to offer and cross our bloody fingers in the hope that the big boys at the club get it right. I want more of last season but it's gone, hopefully this lot will provide the next instalment of madness to feed our addiction.

yep, all that...................my only bone of contention with the current situation is that MD put out a team that wouldnt have beat chertsey town fc on tuesday......i think the club need to be more realistic in their aims and getting to the 2nd rd of the league cup is something that should be on their agenda as i dont remember them having to get a new trophy cabinet in for all that silverware we've amassed in the last 10 years ;) lets keep it real, innit lol

Let's put this behind us....

I won't 'quote' the whole post but well said Leicester Bee. However I would suggest that your forecast that we would be competing in League One is wildly optimistic and I'll tell you why.

When I was asked to go onto the BFC board at the end of 2007 the Club was in a dreadful state financially. We had a playing budget £1.3m which generated a built in loss of £500k pa. The only person who was prepared to cover that loss was Matthew Benham and he injected at that time £500k pa which enabled us to maintain the playing budget at the £1.3m level. Without MB the only way out in my view would be to have slashed the playing budget to £800k........ and Stockport County went out of the league around that time on a playing budget of.........yep £800k. Also just slashing the playing budget doesn't solve the problem and wipe out the loss at a stroke because with the inferior football and quality on the pitch the match day income drops and it would have been a death spiral for the club.

The following season we were Champions of League Two by six clear points on the £1.3m playing budget and MB immediately asked what we would need to achieve stability in League One. Again he increased his cash injections for the first and second of our League One seasons and again without any interference or comment. He just let us get on with it; what he thought about the way we were running the Club he kept to himself.

I am not on Facebook and do not see the comments but I get the flavour from the posts on here and it's a disgrace.

If Matthew Benham had not become involved back in 2005/6 then if we hadn't gone out of business entirely we would be in National Conference (or whatever it's called now) South and hoping that we could perhaps get promoted in 2015/16 so that we could have exciting future local Derby's against Woking and Aldershot.

nothing wrong with derbies against aldershot.....that first one in a long time at their place a few years back (1-1)was radio rental ;) especially when the 13.50 from ascot arrived lol lol

The "Blue Skies Philosophy" brigade should accept that those that have serious concerns and worries are as commited to to the club as them and their hopes and ambitiouns are the same.

On a serious note I'd be really interested to know what the serious concerns and worries are? Serious question.

The sun is burning in my BFC garden without a cloud in sight.

Where's the rain clouds, please explain?

Calling people brigades or lovers is usually a put down, anyone that does will enter what I call the ****s brigade from here on in.

Didn't realise you were poetic. This could mean a whole new dimension in our match day conversation.

Having read that again, it doesn't match the thread title at all, I would like to add that my brigade started at 17.49 and at no time before.:sorted:

Love to all.

Just as well sonofabee is out of the country, otherwise a certain pair of laces would be winging it's way to you............ rofl

I have reached the conclusion that I will not post again on this forum. I remain as I have through thick and thin a Bees supporter for 60 years and that will never change . Hopwever I cannot cope with the vitriol of those who cannot cope with views different to theirs. Goodbye Onwards and Upwards The Bees.

It 's Friday night, let's all get pissed and enjoy tomorrow. We're all Bees, we all want the same thing, some want it by a different route, but hey,, let's share the love.

Rodders don't be silly. I can't see any vitriol aimed at you. I'm genuinely intrigued to know what you are so concerned with?

Surely this is the best period in your 60 years as a Bee? We've just sold a right back for £3.5M and immediately gone and replaced him with a £1M replacement who is also a French under 20 international. I just struggle to understand why people are so worried it's all somehow going to go horribly wrong under MB's stewardship after everything he has done for the club and will continue to do?

Maybe they're spooked by the incompetence of not having a pitch to train on or play on

Our better players are either crocked or leaving. Some of the new arrivals look a bit ordinary. The pitch is unplayable.

But we'll get over it - eventually!

Good point Banana!! Although I suspect responsibility lies elsewhere and I'm sure MB is as p1ssed as anyone that this situation has arisen.

Anyway I'm in a good place regardless :)

Well summed up FMJ. This series of events had me hovering over the entrance to D&G earlier this week. But I'm over it and back fully on board the Benham joy ride! COYBs!

That's short term issues that will resolve themselves. My take (could be wrong) was that the serious concerns and worries people were talking about were more about the direction the club was going in. Which imo is bordering on lunacy..

However, apart from our woeful numbers tomorrow I'm absolutely basking in what has been an unbelievable rise through the divisions over the past few years, and the best football by a country mile that I've seen in 44 years of attending matches. Happy days

Proper firm that day mate, not bad considering the allocation was 900 or so.

Amazing what a week can do for your game. Today it was fairways, greens, and lots of Stapleford points ;)

Everyone is entitled to their melt down and an "I'm out of here " moment. A lot of us emotional types have flounced off and returned.

Let's put this behind us....

what are the concerns for the concerned and worried brigade ?

2-2 Ipswich , didnt play well ,but we lost last season
Gray going? If he does we've some one lined up to come in at a third/quarter of the cost who's equally as good if not better.
Moses gone - replaced with some one a lot cheaper who looks like hes a better defender
Jota - back soon ,if not today,
Judge ,back today maybe
Pitch - is sh*t but is being replaces before next home game
0-4 Oxford ,MD admits he cocked up team selection , and the team lacked any leadership ,players fault
Bjelland injury - biggest and only real problem .I dont think he was fully fit for the Oxford game and was hesitant on the shi t pitch which probably contributed to the injury occurring.
couple of rumours re Tarks and Dean .They wont be allowed to leave after Andrea's injury
JD going to Ipswich - Dont know what happened there but he was pushed out quickly ,bad influence I guess

Have I missed any thing?

Let's put this behind us....

We may well make a sluggish start to the season, but MB will ensure that momentum builds, and when we are making a weekly prilgramage to LR to see the steel erection going up you will all walk proud and the sheer excitement will be back... Keep the faith whatever the first few results bring us and hold onto your seats for the ride
