Leyton Orient

Leyton orients dislike for us goes back to early/mid 1990's when Kenny (whats his name)? got sent off against us. They have not played their "local rivals" West Ham and Spurs for decades. I think they may sell a few players in January and find it hard to keep up with us, wolves and peterborough.

Achampong? Chomp?

Leyton Orient

Had £20 with my mate at work that we would finish above Orient.

We were 12 points behind at the time.

Leyton Orient

I particularly like this post from one of their threads;

With 1 minute to go last week we were 8 points ahead of them. Now we're one point clear.

Last minute winner by Jonny D, last minute equalizer by Nakhi Wells for Bradford. We win the next, they lose. Loving that. :sorted:

Quite like Orient and admire Slade for what he has done so far, if they got promoted it would be an outstanding achievement as long as it is not at our expense of course.

Will be interesting to see if they can gatecrash their way into the Olympic stadium as Brisbane Road wouldn't sustain them in the Championship.

Leyton Orient

Cant see Hearne ever digging deep into his millions to go the last few yards. Likes to stick to his budget. Ambition! get promoted and the players go to Vegas. Wow

Leyton Orient

I thought there were some muppets on here, but Jesus Christ, their message board is on another level.

Leyton Orient

Not really sure that is relevant though. Surely gaining promotion is all you ever want, I don't even think about what would happen if we got there.

Nor do I, but if I did, I'd be less worried now about us than ever before.

Of course it is , they don't in my opinion deserve to a championship club . If they went up they would be punching well above their weight and I don't believe them to be an ambitious outfit either . The sheer bitterness and resent their fans have shown towards us is comical .

Leyton Orient

I don't see Orient as different from any other club we play against.

I can't understand their fans inferiority complex.

Leyton Orient

I really like Orient, not the team but they have good away support considering their home attendances, proper ground, punching above their weight consistently which is always fantastic to see, not that they're too small for League One.

No idea why they hate Brentford but as long as they don't pip us to a promotion spot then I don't really have a problem. However we never beat them :(

Leyton Orient

we will take over their ground and play them off the the pitch come march..........war is declared and battle come down...now get this.

As a kid growing up in the 70's they were actually a bigger club than us who were in the old division 2 or The Championship as we now know it along with F**** when we were mostly in the old 4th division. Remember they had
two bearded midfielders who were difficult to tell apart named Brisley and Allen - sad git that I am remembering things like that.
They weren't Leyton Orient back then either and it was always Brisbane road and not The Matchroom.
In summary they maybe a smaller club but have still spent far more years in my lifetime in The Championship and also been in an FA cup semi final.

History IMO doesn't define how big a club is (not on it's own anyway), but that's a very valid point and one that I hadn't even considered having not been around that long compared to some on here.

Definitely need to consider my age etc. before posting on here tbf.

Wasn't having a pop as to be honest I see them as a smaller club now as well but it's interesting if you look at where they were no wonder their fans are bitter.

Leyton Orient

Their 1st choice keeper out for 3 months!!

Leyton Orient

Anyone else think Millwall might go for Slade. Fits the bill IMO

Might be a bit too lower division for them. I'm thinking they just might go for Steve Clarke.
Of course, if they're fighting relegation, then look no further than ex-Hammer Mad Dog. :D

Leyton Orient

Though looking on the other thread I agree with the call of Neil Harris til the end of the season. We shall see. The loss of Jones is a blow for them. Doesn't sound like the reserve keeper instills a lot of confidence

Leyton Orient

Appears injurys and suspensions are setting in now....

1st choice keeper is injured with a hairline fracture in his back..
Although now completing a ban, Mooney is doubtful for Molineux..
Now defender Cuthburt is facing suspension for this important game..

Could they start to slip up..

Shaun Batt was substituted after 41 mins yesterday I hear too, hopefully he's injured too

Leyton Orient

Agree. Orient should fall away as injuries take their toll, so any points they would take off Wolves would be a big plus in my book.

Would rather orient beat wolves myself

Leyton Orient

Definitely agree, would rather Orient take the points off Wolves and just hope they start falling away. Wolves are the biggest threat to the title in this division so any points dropped by them could be massive in the long run.

Leyton Orient

Physiological I believe we will be in a better place if we go in to the new year top. Not worried about Orient as I believe they will fall away like Tranmere did last season due to strength in squad, injuries and suspensions . They have lost their first choice keeper I believe now for three months posted elsewhere on here . I believe with our current form continuing we will overtake Wolves. The expectancy level from their fans is huge and if they come off the top then an air of negativity will descend on Molineux. They seem to expect to win it and will have a lot more pressure on the team from a big fan base .

Leyton Orient

Their fans are suggesting they want Simon Moore to be the loan keeper they sign for the next few months.

Leyton Orient

2,500 going up to Wolves today.

Leyton Orient

Credit to Leyton Orient (whatever stupid things they say about us), they battle. They don't give up. Tough side.

Leyton Orient

id put a lot of kin money on that the quality wasnt as good though,,,,,,a lot of kin money ;) must have been like spazzers r us on tour

yeah,maybe so,i'd agree.But many knock them alot for their sh*tt numbers !!

Leyton Orient

Well their numbers are normally pretty sh*te when they come to Griffin Park.

Leyton Orient

They had 1940 there apparently, not 2500. Still a great following from them.
