Confirmed off to Barcelona... will add some bite to their forward line.

Barca must have had their transfer ban lifted.

Odd that signing for a new club doesn't constitute involvement in a football-related activity...

Maybe the reasoning is that this is a "footballing activity" (transfer of a player contract) between Liverpool and Barcelona?

In other words, it doesn't make any difference to the ban whether Suarez spends the next four months sitting on his arse in one city or the other.

I suppose FIFA could have insisted that the transfer of his contract be delayed until October, except that that the clubs could have got round that by signing a "pre-contract", and Liverpool granting him four months "holiday", which he just happens to take in Barcelona.

Quite honestly, if FIFA can manage to ensure he remains banned from Barca's Training Ground, then that will effectively preclude the real "footballing activity" which he/they are interested in.

Oh no! One of the reasons I dislike Uruguay has gone. But all is not lost. With very little application on my part, I'll find another reason to detest them.

Luis Suarez

A serial cheat and a disgusting racist.

Football will be a better place now he’s f***ed off.

Luis Suarez

most players who are hot headed as Youngsters eventually mellow out and become more mature and calm. He's 38 and still acting like a petulant kid, embarrassing

Luis Suarez

Incredible footballer at Liverpool, the best of the best for a couple of seasons

Awful human being though

I'm pretty sure MLS won't stand for his continuing antics. With luck they will kick the sh*t out. He has had enough chances.

This is the most anyone has talked about MLS teams (outside of Messi) in ages, and the league needs the drama.

I'm guessing his suspension will be announced after the international break, he will appeal, and while the appeal is pending, he will feature when Miami and Seattle play each other again on Sept. 16. There's absolutely nothing US sports leagues love more than "storylines."
