Luton protest

I've just heard from Luton Lil who was talking to a crowd of Luton fans in his local last night. Apparently they are massively "bigging up" this game and are hell bent on starting on anyone & everyone and are also saying they'll get the match abandoned as a protest against the FA's decision. They want to go out "with a bang" (their words, not mine). They're trying to get tickets anywhere they can and some will turn up ticketless just to smash up whatever can be smashed up.
I know there are other threads about this game but I didn't want this to appear on page 13 and be overlooked.
Mick (despite being an ugly spud) is a clued up lad. He knows some of these oiks and if he's concerned, then we all should be.
He's gonna contact Pete Gilham and talk to Ken the copper on Saturday, although I'd like to think that they already have an idea of what's going on.
Any thoughts out there?

Luton protest

I wouldn't worry too much, there will be one copper for every Luton supporter that day.

Sounds clever, get a game abandonded on the last game of the season = start the next season like this one, negative points. Dickheads

Luton protest

Not very intelligent are they? Has it escaped them that FA still govern the Conference?

It is just the type of thing I have been worried about, but let us hope it does not happen.
As I have said before, the last thing Bees fans should do is aggravate the situation ( I will now step back as the usual suspects get ready to vent their spleen on me!;))

But I thought you indicated if we were nice to them they would be nice to us :fishing:

As much as I dislike Luton, I will refrain from teasing their fans on Saturday.

If there is trouble our club WILL suffer - We all want a new ground, what we dont need are locals saying they dont wont us on their doorsteps.

In hindsite the FL should have guarenteed Luton a home fixture for the final game of this season.

Let us celebrate promotion - we deserve this, our team desrve this and it has been earned

YAWN

Wouldn't surprise me if the kick off time was brought forward :fishing:
Rumour is that the Griffin will have the windows boarded up

As I was renewing my ST on Tuesday afternoon there were a stream of not very bright people wanting Luton tickets. They'd all thrown away their old ticket stubs and couldn't quite remember where they lived......

:bound::bound: Yippee, this being the case we get given a "3-0" win & promotion and a huge fine and further point deduction for the LOOSCUM. Hopefully it will be something along the lines of "It's a Knockout". We gave you a -30 points deduction last time, but as you've played your joker you've now got a -60 deduction for next season. They will definetly be relegated by christmas! :bound::bound:

I say, bring those two coppers who have been suspended back for this game!!!!

All this speculation is not helpful.
The huge crowd of Bees fans present on the day (9,500 home supporters ?) will hopefully ensure a "family" atmosphere before and during the game, like other big crowds of recent times.

What happens after the game will depend on the result and the police tactics.

The simple fact is no instructions have come from the Police yet to local pubs.
I am sure the police are well aware of the potential for trouble, and I will be happy to drink away in a quiet hidey hole, and let them deal with it.

Luton and Brentford both have a fair share of idiots, but football should win the day.

When i was in the club shop, two coppers pulled up in a marked car and in full uniform and they still had to prove they had a booking history even when one of them stated that he was policing the game.

It was so reassuring to see how hard it would be for Luton fans to get tickets in the home areas

Luton protest

I wouldn't worry too much, there will be one copper for every Luton supporter that day.

What financial cost will our club incur for this ?
I appreciate extra law and enforcement officers will be required for this game, but just wondered how much it is likely to cost us.

Don't think they'll do that especially as the championship could be riding on it (and hopefully not promotion) as all games must ko at the same time on the final day of the season.

Luton protest

..............employ those G20 coppers ,they seem fairly clued up..................

Luton protest

Yawn Yawn Yawn... The only thing that matters is that Luton are going down and We are Going up!

Any mass trouble and the Conference will ban them entry into their league...

Luton protest

Two groups from Spurs coming down for this, Millwall, West Ham, and also Watford apparently to come and show their appreciation for Luton :box:

Rumour flying about that the Met have cancelled all leave for this day, and also the BTP. No idea if it's true or chinese whispers though so don't shoot the messenger

You really are a very naughty boy!:nono:
I basically have always asked for Bees fans not to aggravate the situation., for reasons that are quite obvious.
I just do not want to see the good work done by so many folks( including yourgoodself) tarnished.
We love our club and we love football, and I believe we should focus on that, and put 100% of our efforts and energy into cheering our team on that day.
It is entirely up to you wether you decide to 'be nice' to them or not.The only person that I have implored to do just that is Ace Face who will, I feel sure, take the opportunity, during his mascot moments, to personally offer commiserations to all those Luton fans in the Brook Road grandstand!:D

Looking at this there seems nothing to worry about.

Problem with that is, is that the posters on there probably have more than a couple of brain cells so I would expect their opinion to be more sensible or pragmatic.

Don't like the sound of the Brillson's original post one bit, I can't see the day passing without incident, just have to see if it's organised or isolated.

A healthy amount of caution whilst enjoying our day is the way forward

Worringly I know at least two of those people on that Luton message board. I believe one of them broke his foot in my house once. Purely accidently obviously.

Luton protest

I am so sick and tired of hearing about ****ing Luton its beyond a joke!

Luton protest

The vast majority of Luton fans will turn up and cheer their players for a valiant effort.

One LTFC fan on their messageboard suggested turning up dressed as for a funeral which I thought was quite amusing.

Attending Brentford away this season is far more gay than attending any pre-season friendlies.

No doubt there will be. And I assume that the club have to pay for policing the Luton scum as well. Another reason for good riddance.

Never mind the lack of stubs and not remembering where they lived, it was the "not very bright" bit which suggests they might have been Luton fans! ;)

I seem to recall that Police "Outside" the Ground are not chargeable to the Club.

Only those designated to be inside GP are a cost to BFC. I suppose there will be 30 / 40 /50 ?? more inside than normal so it will be a fairly substantial cost.

I have a mate with 2 sons who are Luton fans. He told me weeks ago that a lot of fans would be attending the game with/without tickets. The plan was to then make their way to the FA after the game to protest. I asked him if that was wise as there probably wouldn't be anyone of importance there, considering there is football (FA semi) on that day. "Oh yeah, he replied" Wanted me to get him tickets in the home end. :nono: Can't guarantee your safety so  was my reply.

Aren't the semis this weekend?
