Frustration is affecting some people's judgement at the moment. We got a good view from some of abee's posts earlier this week that the board were far from happy with how things were going. Last night woud only have worsened that view. I still have faith that we have good guys on the board & we need to let them do their job. Probbaly sacking AS is the easy bit. It's what they do next that will be more difficult and they need to get it right. I don't suppose any of us want history to repeat itself.

Spot on, as was the post which preceded it. 'Decision-making' is bloody easy when you are not actually making the decision and you don't have to take responsibility for it once it is made

If the board were doing their job.....like the rest of us they could have seen the crisis coming ....they would have had a short list of managers they would want to take over fron AS...

My Thread seems to have gone tits up, (just like our team) I was only comparing AS & MA success at Brentford, all I have stated is that AS won something, MA won nothing, and therefore why on earth should we take a step backward and appoint MA, we now need to move forward, and if we need a new man at the helm, MA should not be the choice, IMO.

I thought Benham was a businessman obviously not in the sugar mould and agree with most MA till end of season but do it now not Tuesday.

it is time for the board to back AS or at least make a statement -the supporters and I should imagine the players are getting fed up with the present situation. If not Saturday at Griffin Park is not going to be a bundle of laughs just more disappointment and misery.

Yeah same. One of the posters who mentioned it hadn't posted on here for a couple of years so it would be strange for him to come and make a rumour like that up for no reason.

My under 9's team won 4 7 a side tournaments in the Summer.

Does that make me a better manager than Scott and MA??? :rolleyes:

What concerns me is if Plymouth "don't turn up"....as they say in football managers parlace and we fluke a win, that will give our weak sickly board justification for keeping him on ?

Please put him and us out of more misery.....................

Eaglebee your living in a fantasy world. If i manage the Dog and Duck to a county cup final win does tyhat make me more of a winner than MA? Alright AS won L2, it was pony league with pony clubs who were in a load of debt but still it wasnt easy and is a great achievement. Whether we should have been their in the first place is another matter. MA ultimatley failed in the PO's but it isnt as cut and dry as that. AS isnt a winner ATM and has never taken Brentford to the heights that MA took us. MA isnt garantueed to succeed but will ignite passion, unite the fans, bring back hope and make things fun. He certainly isnt a loser but if you want to say how he "failed" at all his other clubs then fair enough. MA isnt everyones cup of tea but is the majority's choice (going by the GPG and the reception he got at the Exeter game) and as i walk into GP on saturday i will have a lot more confidence, pride and excitement in me if MA is in charge.

Could potentialy be the last game for Plymouth Argyle FC. They reckon they'll be bringing plenty of support. We can't afford another loss. I am worried. :(

Boys and girls....NOTHING is going to happen today. I know everyone is perched over the keyboard either expecting or hoping for the obvious news. But here's the scenario:

AS is told he's got Plymouth and Exeter to turn it round (again). If we don't get to Wembley and 3 points on Sat, its curtains on Tuesday morning. Simple.

Problem is, if we do get to Wembley the board has a dilemma as they won't want to sack a manager that might win a trophy, so AS is given (another) stay of execution with the board working under the absurd notion that the JPT final might somehow appease the fans. I can hear the conversations in the board room now. So AS might be here for a while yet.

Thats not quite true mate. I don't want to mention names, But I have been saying for ages that our football was sh*t, we were lacking a midfield, most league sides were all over us in midfield. Another poster who knows the game also said it , and he knows who he is. Others who I do not personally know also said it. But the majority on this board have until lately backed Andy to the hilt, and fair play to them for that. If Scott goes I will not be claping my hands, much the same as the other poster who also saw this coming yonks ago. I'm pretty sure board members have also told Andy, told him the results are bad, and the gates are dwindling. Surely he must have known himself, things like this do not just go on for ever.
Everyone has their own veiws, I do not want to say "I told you so" because there is nothing worse than your team sliding the slipery slope. What pisses me off andy has the ability and the know how to have changed things , in my veiw he did not want to. I still feel if our team had played to its potential then we would noy be in this position.

It wouldn't concern me if we actually won, on Saturday, it would make a nice change :sorted:
Surely the main reason for regime change is the style and atmosphere around GP - results don't matter now, AS has not lived up to the budget or expectations of the fans.

AS has had a chance, ok he did well to get us up ad a good position last season but were going to be in league 2 again next season if things keep going this way.

I know I can sit here ib the comfort of my own home and moan about whoever I like And I have read the posts carefully, I was bought up in an era where it was fine to sack anyone just because his/her breath smelt like a chinese wrestlers jockstrap. Sacking people these days is not as easy as it was then. I assume verbal warnings have to be given in the 1st place. If they are ignored then it's a written warning. OK, fair enough Football management is different, but AS might have been warned allready ''6 more games to turn things around,or you are out''. This is just an example.I cant think of more than 2 things that warrant instant dismisal. One is stealing off your employer or the use of physical violence against your boss.
AS is NOT guilty of either.. The only crime for want oif a better word is that he cant manage a football team at Division one level. He never picks the same team 2 games running, and god forbid if a player makes a balls up which leads to a goal for the oppo. None of us know what is going on behind the scenes ATM. Negotiations could even be going on at thios very moment. Funny though. ABee was on the gpg a lot yesterday. Aint seen him today though. Makes yer think dunnit. If people feel so anti AS I think the best thing to do (And I know I'm going to get slated for this) is to STAY AWAY this Saturday. sh*te opposition. It could be done for ONE GAME only just to see any reaction from the club. If by any chance a new manager is appointed (Gary Johnson or Martin Allen please) then turn up to watch the great escape again.

I doubt the tossers have even had a meeting. Even though Benham is investing, this is still a FAN OWNED CLUB so how about they listen to the FANS for once??? he has lost the dressing room and the fans and the fact that the board are delaying the action even more shows how spineless they really are and that they are not acting in the fans best interest.
