Managerial Changes 2014/15

I'm told that 25/1 on Danny Wilson to be the next Oldham manager may provide you with good value.

Not a done deal, but on the cards.

Would he cross the Pennines, though?!

His West Brom side couldn't defend to save their lives, maybe it'll work better for him at Div One level.

Yep. Sign a couple more with the height of NP, turn them all through 90 degrees and wedge them in the goalmouth. Should work a treat

How has Holloway not been sacked yet?

They can't afford to sack him, they gambled on his expertise to polish a turd. They paid him Premiership salary in the expectation he could mould a team of misfits together but sadly it hasn't happened.

Benitez turns down new Napoli contract. Perhaps looking for a return to West London next season?

He's heard oldham have a vacancy.

Also was it me or did Gilham announce Long's first as his 'debut goal' even though his first was against Bournemouth?

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Zola sacked as coach of Cagliari after just ten matches.

Head coach at Brentford? Handy for his England home.

Hopefully still time to catch Fucham

Once upon a time in Old Brentford, on knowing our current manager was to depart there'd have been a 100 post thread by now on why we should appoint Holloway. To be fair 37 of those posts would have been about Martin Allen and 4 about Micky Adams.

Neil Harris has got the role. This will certainly please the Wall fans

He managed Plymouth (in the Championship), QPR and Blackpool, all with a 38 to 39% win percentage, which is good. In fact, if you take out his Premiership season from the Blackpool stats, his win percentage with them in the Championship is even higher. He was a good choice for Millwall, it just hasn't worked out. In the past, he's always had a good eye for a player and I would think at Division One level he could take most sides to the top six and the play-offs.

Ollie is a decent-enough Manager, but I've always thought that because he's such a likeable bloke etc, he maybe gets an easier ride than he might.

Whereas other Managers who have equal or better records (eg Warnock or Redknapp?) are given a harder time because they are so much harder to like.

I reckon Holloway is a solid League One level Manager, who could maybe do a job in the Championship, but only at the right club/right time.

Wish him well, though.

Good post, you don't get two play off wins to prem by being a crap manager, Christ what we would give to win a final with all the trimmings. Just didn't work out for him at the wall.
Ollie will be back.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Sadly I think Ollie may well be a busted flush these days. He lost the plot at Palace and while he inherited a pretty ropey playing squad he knew what he was getting into and has been an unqualified disaster at 'Wall. Maybe he would be better off having a proper rest, time away from managing and becoming a pundit next season for FLS on C5?

Stuart McCall is to be appointed Rangers manager until the end of the season..

I would of had him down as a good fit for the peterborough job

What happened to Danny Wilson ? I put a few quid on that on the back of your tip. Any legs on that or is it a dead deal.

I might have sold you a dud there. My apologies. Not dead, but given the lack of appointment not the value I suggested it was.

Pretty sure there was contact though,

What d'ya think was the attraction for Johnson of Barnsley over Oldham? Higher wage? More money to spend?

Barnsley's crowds may potentially be bigger than Oldham's, but it still looked a bit of a sideways move to me.

Reckon it might have been the owners willingness to employ wrong 'uns?

More than double the crowds. Bigger infrastructure off the pitch. While I don't doubt he's significantly increased his money he'll be able to sign players on double the wage or more. This means he's got more chance of adding a promotion to his CV.

For what it's worth, I think he will be successful manager over many years.

The original idea came from the board. Johnson leaked the story to test opinion and chose not to pursue it. We then had a ***** December and he changed his mind. The idiots in charge of the asylum back him.

.

I think you may be right, bright, articulate, single minded, tad arrogant, all requirements to be a real leader.

Does anyone leave the Sunderland manager's job with their reputation enhanced?
It does seem like a manager's graveyard.
I just don't believe Gus Poyet is a bad manager.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Neither were O'Neil or Bruce, something wrong at the heart of that club if managers of that quality fail

He's grossly under performed IMO bearing in mind the funds made available to him to completely reshape the squad.
