Managerial Changes 2014/15

Just heard this on the radio, how mental is that! Huddersfield, Leeds and Blackpool all seem to be in a bit of turmoil, I bet the Blackpool and Leeds managers are gone by Christmas.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

...............didn't take long..................

Managerial Changes 2014/15

I know Benham is not one to make rash decisions but I hope the fans don't get on Warburton's back if we get spanked this season. The team needs the fans more than ever this year.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

I came out of yesterday's game thinking that we've got to learn from that and improve quickly. We're going to have a lot of bubbles burst and, although I think we'll make it, there will be times that Warburton will come under a lot of pressure. One game, though...

Managerial Changes 2014/15

One game is just daft. I presume they already have other ideas about their management going forward.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

How long does anyone give Hockaday then? Accrington in the cup midweek then next Saturday Leeds are home to Middlesbrough, could be all over by Sunday.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Ludicrous decision. Bournemouth just as likely to get stuffed next week by whoever they're playing.;)

Managerial Changes 2014/15

They had a respectable finish of 17th last year, strange to sack him after 1 game, why let a manager take a team through preseason and make his own signings if you are just going to sack him after one game?

He'll be the fall guy. They want someone they can dominate.

..............on the money they get plus the long contracts paid up when leaving.............and via the merry go round invariably end up with another position...........yep a tough call..........

There will be games where we are outplayed and suffer a heavy defeat, as long as we stick to our principles of playing entertaining, attacking football....who can complain?

There's a definite learning curve as Bournemouth showed last year. You could see the step up in quality, less time on the ball. It's not going to be easy. I wouldn't be surprised if we get thrashed at some point this season.

I would, used to high pressure and results driven with far less rewards. If I don't hit quarterly targets I know the likely consequences and there's no fat pay off.
Getting paid for something that is your passion has to be the greatest job you could have and Robins has spent his whole life playing or managing with great financial remuneration.

Where do I apply?

Sacking manager after one game. What next at half time. I hope we keep the faith with WB no matter how we are playing. Boring as it is changing manager very rarely improves performance, usually results are very similar with new manager and in many instance get worse. The club and players get destabilise as the new manager brings in his own team, often his favourite players come in as well and others leave. I am not convinced that managers have such a significant impact as we think. What counts is money. Sad but true.

.............didn't Norwich do that the other season and ended up as Champions.............

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Bournemouth first two away game was 5-1 at Watford and 6-1 at Huddersfield and think there did ok last season.

Yes that is true. In the statistics pages of GPG there is several posts about manager changes with references to the research on this. If you get time have a look as I would be interested in what you and others make of it.

Utterly bizarre. Season 1 day old. If the Huddersfield owners didnt like him, they should have parted company in May or June. If i was one of their fans and wasnt that keen on Robins Id still be furious with today's announcement baring in mind he made new signings and went through pre-season. It was a bad day at the office for the team, he wasnt even given the chance to make amends. Its a poor and cowardly decision.

Didn't the very well balanced John Sitton once sack a player at half time against us at GP?

The video is on YouTube. Advisable to listen with headphones if in a public place.

Pullis on the verge of leaving Palace!

Where have you seen that? he has just signed Martin Kelly from Liverpool

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Just heard the same on both Sky and Talk Sport

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Wtf why!?!

Managerial Changes 2014/15

worked miracles in my opinion last year to keep Palace up - only guessing but maybe thinking he has not got the financial banking to take Palace up to the next level.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Their 11am press conference is off...

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Was speaking to,Stoke fans in Madrid when watching Getafe last April and they said if he kept Palace up ( which was a tough call at the time) he would leave and seek out a job at a bigger club. They were right but can't see who the bigger club would be Aston Villa? West Ham?

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Malky Mackay must be in with a shout...especially as his mate Ian Moody is still there.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Think lack of spending is the issue as only spent £2.4 m in transfer window, lowest of all prem league clubs. Pulis wanted to improve his squad owners locked up the cheque book, a decision they may come to regret

Managerial Changes 2014/15

I bet hangeland, Kelly and Campbell are chuffed !

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Keith Millen in temporary charge...... Again.

Managerial Changes 2014/15

Brian McDermott or Malky Mackay presumably will get this one
