Not that often though, he will watch Scottish league games on BT sport

That will be useful if he wants to see lots of money grabbing mercenaries who aren't qualified to play for Scotland (or Rangers as they are more commonly known) How many Scottish based players did Strachan pick in the last squad?

Wasn't he sacked in the tunnel there by Abramovich ??

I think Ancelotti would be a mistake.
I think of him as a manager who goes in where the building work has already been done. Everton need somebody to carry on with developing their pool of young talent, though they do have some money being put in now.
Keith Hill has done great work on a shoestring at Barnsley.

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

Their fans are very demanding and have a somewhat delusional view that they should be regarded as one of the top teams in the country when in reality they have been also ran's for decades. The likes of Dyche would be seen as not "big enough" for a club of their stature. I would guess that they will go for a big name to try and get their expensively built squad to gel, they do not have the time to "build" as such. Moyes would be a huge step backwards. If I was them i would go for the Watford manager.

Yep a shoo in unless another of the north west giants fancy him first

Ancelotti was dreadful at Bayern. Sacked in September despite him having a contract till end of season and a replacement lined up in May. Couldn't wait till then.

Yep about time Keith got a crack at a big club. Best manager in the North West.........

Still at Barnsley? That surprises me. Thought he was destined for the very top. Thought he was destined for Barcelona rather than Barnsley but fair play to him. One loyal guy. Obviously put his love for Yorkshire above personal gain. Wasn't he at Rochdale at some point? Surprised the Yorkies accepted a Lanc so easily. Says a lot about him.

No mate never there. Heavily linked at one stage iirc but always stayed at the tykes

Loyalty eh? I reckon after the glory days are all over, he'll look back & think............ if only??? If only I'd have had the courage to take on Rochdale. We would have done what Huddersfield have done. So sad. Unfullfilled dreams:(

I heard Barnsley got bought into by a pie and mash magnate, who wants to bring in one of those “name” managers. So, reckon Keith’s on the way out and John Sheridan’s slated to replace him.

Pedro Csicinha sacked by Rangers.

Ridiculous.

No one seems to have mentioned Claude Puel going to Leicester. Seems as unpopular as when Ranieri was announced!!

I imagine their fans are still blaming Warburton for leaving him with sh*t players.

The need a proper Jock in charge @ Rangers, they have had a couple of foreign managers that haven’t worked. Barry Ferguson I reckon would be a good option

Not a managerial change, but Motherwell (club and fans) seem very pleased with your old boy, Steve Robinson:
http://boards.footymad.net/showthread.php?t=38204140

Any thoughts?
Notwithstanding the fact he managed Oldham when the owner seemed reluctant to allow a squad to be put together pre-season, the negative style of football was terrible to watch.

He wasn't helped by a striker who couldn't score either. He did, however, bring in Connor Ripley on loan from Middlesbrough. The best keeper I've seen in League One. Inexplicably now on loan to Burton and sat on the bench.

We were dead and buried when Robinson was fired off in January. Sheridan's annual Messiah trick saving us.

This season I believe we've scored nearly as many goals by the end of October as we did in the whole of last season. Get our defending right and we might be a force.

Give me the recent 3-2, 4-4, 2-3 scorelines against Robinson's turgid 0-0 and 0-1 efforts any day.

From what you hear about Sunderland's finances, the last thing they would have needed would be to provide a nice compensation package for the outgoing management team.
Will be very interesting to see who has got the balls / is mad enough (delete as applicable) to take that job on & whether the club can avoid the drop, which must be the sole focus of their season from here on in.

He could combine it with the Scotland job.

Well they're both up there somewhere in the same snowy wastes, aren't they?

You know, permafrost... ...mad, incomprehensible locals.... ...complete cluelessness when it comes to football... ... live off deep-fried walrus...

And only a three month drive from Bournemouth.

I watched the Sunderland highlights this morning and they are bang in trouble. No pressure on the ball and players just standing around and watching.

They need to get this appointment right or they are absolute certs for another relegation imo.

Let's hope they don't get it right until after mid-February...

I thought the way he celebrated their goals against us was needlessly OTT. But in hindsight it was merely just how desperate he was for something to go their way. But there is something not right with that club. Their squad suggests otherwise but could really see them dropping.

Lose against us on Saturday and the Leeds Board patience could be tested , they are in a very poor run. The Swede was an odd appointment it has to be said.
