I though I read somewhere on the GPG that when asked if he'd play for us again, Bent laughed. Once a very good prospect, sold by us for a pittance, no doubt made himself a load of money, could've been a contender, could've been someone.

not a bad shout in my opinion. definately the physical presence we need and lets be honest hes always had a league one standard of quality to his game.

He didn't have his heart in it when he was starting his career with us so doubt he would now, loads of talent but you could just never be sure if he was going to turn up. Could be completely wrong on oppo but remember him having a stormer against man city at home in the cup, cameras out and all that, then hardly broke into a sweat in next league game.

The blokes been paid better money than most of us since the age of 16 to do something he loves and is good at. Along the way he's lived a bit and loved some cracking looking sorts, seems like he's had the perfect life so far!

na.his attitude at the end of his time with us was awful,resulting in him moving on for sod all,could have made money on him,great talent.He left the club on very bad terms,seems to have no thought for us,though we started his career,i wouldnt want him back

He left for £150k which wasn't bad money. He was a kid at the time and Dave Webb did seem to use him as a scapegoat at times. You'd hope that a dozen years later his attitude might have changed.

not bad at all.Could have been loads more,webb might of used as a scapegoat but Bent certainly didnt help himself either,he did have a terrible attitude.Maybe he did change,who knows,rarely got in bad news as far as i can remember.But apparently still turns his nose up at Brentford,for that,he can do one

No thanks. Big time charlie when he was with us, even at that tender age. Judging by the number of clubs, that leopard didn't change his spots.

Good luck to the bloke for what he's achieved but I don't think we want his sort at BFC.

I always thought Paul Abrahams was the scapegoat??

Wasn't there a game Bent missed one Boxing Day when he was supposed to have cut his neck on a mirror which was a Christmas present for his mum? I believe it. I do, it happens all the time.

Good example of a forward who got to play a lot at a level higher than his ability would really merit.

He must have made a pretty penny from all the £1m+ transfers he was involved in and playing in the top two divisions for a fair amount of time. :shrug:

Sad to see the mess he's got himself into. :(

Money buys property and shiny things, not happiness and only makes you rich on paper. I am the poor one compared to a handful of extremely wealthy mates and I genuinely wouldn't swap with any of them.

He never stuck around long enough at any club. Think he made more appearances for Brentford than any other club.
