Thorne in the Side are soon to do an interview with that QPR Supporting bandit Mark Devlin for our next issue - would really like any supporters that have questions to put to him to either PM us or reply on this thread.

Mark Devlin

Nick, in my opinion, Mark had a mountain to climb when he arrived.

What was the most difficult problem he had to resolve and which resolved problem gave him the most satisfaction.

You could also thank him for his very quick responses to supporters that email him with a problem or request.

Mark Devlin

I think calling him a QPR supporting bandit is out of order.

I might not agree with every decision he has made but I have no doubts he is making those decisions with the club's best interests at heart. Overall, he has done an excellent job for Brentford FC.

It was a joke - I think he has done a fine job... when we asked if we could interview him he replied ' no doubt lots of questions about QPR'...

Is there a plan to allow pay on the gate so no Bees supporters need miss out if capacity to house them?

Do you believe Bees fans should play a part in the decision making process re new kits?

What is the strategy to see us grow the fan base from 5,600 season tickets and an average of circa 10,500 per home game to 20k when we get to LR?

Mark Devlin

Agree that overall he has made some good decisions and responded promptly to most emails and messages BUT has he forgotten about Ticketzone????

I have emailed him several times about this back in August and indeed sent TZ a final demand for the re-imbursement of my booking fees etc.

He mentioned that the club was seeking a meeting with the FL and TZ about this but still nothing???

Mark Devlin

If a set of circumstances arrived whereby we could be above the Ra Ras for ever and a day or vice versa and it was his choice which way would he vote and why?

Mark Devlin

1. Would you consider takingthe doors off the Ealing Road toliets or have them fixed back on match days? To avoid hygienic individuals having to touch them to access the bogs. If you don't agree would you consider putting hand sanitisers outside??

2. Has the person responsible for terrible researching of the clubs badge been disciplined for trying to basis our centurianary badge on a medal??

3. Well down on the burgers a vast improvement on pervious efforts.

4. Why not have a mobile drinking stand at half time on the exit area to Ealing Road?? Would stop overcrowding in the corner as currently occurs would not be in view of the pitch and bottles would make it quicker to serve people and move produce without blocking up the exit should it be needed..

5. Can you explain more about engaging with local Businness I see there adverts around the ground and brentford certificates in the shops...

6. What's your favourite pub?

Re number 3- who was the pervy burger seller?

Re number 4 - Easy to get 3 or 4 staff with Jet packs, additional crowds cover costs several times over

Re number 6 - I believe its the Bushranger or Outback at his home club.

What contingency, if any, is in place in the event that we are promoted prior to LR being ready?

That could happen next season ! A very very l;ong distance shot I know but not beyond the realms of possibility. In a funny kind of way this is a nagging worry I have as to how we would cope at GP.

Can we find away to let walk up floaters pay on the day? Other wise we're never going to get to 12,000 gates

Totally agree Paul. He reacted quickly to our correspondence to Mr Crown when our campaign to get Mark Burridge back on side was under way, and realised the importance to us remote supporters, despite
hostile opposition from some quarters.

7. When are Addidas going to give us some decent clothing to purchase at a reasonable price?

8. Are those crap transfer badges here to stay??

9. Where are we with agreeing with another sports club to join us at Lionel road?

10. When will you make the ticketing website more user friendly I find it extremely difficult to add friends and family in order to purchase tickets without phoning the club.

11. What percentage of season ticket holders on average this season haven't attend games and like the airlines do we over sell the ground?

12. If you were a bird flying in the skies over west London which would you sh*t on first Griffin Park, Loftus Road or Craven Cottage? And would you go for one of them berry load poos?

13. Think the club has come on leaps and bounds now they have taken on some of my criticisms e.g pre poured drinks and vehicles in front of turnstiles.

14. What keeps you up at night worrying about Brentford??

I'd also be interested in an official BFC line on this. I chased TZ recently and they're clearly hiding behind a police investigation which is not being pursued with any urgency.

Can they add an extra slab of meat in the burgers for an extra quid, easy money :-) I'd pay the £4.60 for a fat burger option

Mark Devlin

Even though it seems highly unlikely, what would the clubs response be to Chelsea moving in to Twickenham for a season?

Mark Devlin

Is there a wider strategy to help fill Griffin Park for the remaining matches of the season, in addition to the , much welcomed, initiatives so far ?

Mark Devlin

Can the club finish the front of the Braemar Road Stand, needs a Club Badge in the centre and the grey needs to be painted
with red and white stripes.

Mark Devlin

What was the rationale behind the £125 per head 125th Celebration Dinner?
Had the club considered that this, being the only event organised, would alienate and exclude many long-serving supporters who simply cannot afford, or justify, £250 plus drinks and cab per couple?
Had the club considered any other event that would have enabled a much larger number to attend and celebrate this major club milestone?
Are there future plans for any such event ?...

Mark Devlin

15. What's the club position on plastic pitches?

Mark Devlin

Are the club aware of the ongoing stand up/sit down debate at way games? Does the club have an opinion on this?

Are they able/willing to help find a solution (unreserved seating or designated "signing sections" for the back rows)?

This problem will occur at every big away game unless its tackled.

Mark Devlin

Can the club sort out some extra beer sellers at ER end as its mental in that corner at half time and im sure the club would make more ££££ out of a few bottle sellers dotted around that area out of view of the pitch.

Signing sections? Is Beesworld available for hard of hearing now too?

1. why no proper glasses in stripes bar as we are now only bees fans in the braemar road stand ?
2 club shop opening times on match days 12.00 midday why
3 when will hate corner be open to bees fans ie Norwich game ?

Mark Devlin

Payment for a pint inside the stripes bar via debit card isnt possible. Could the club look into payment via debit card etc or introducing Atm's inside the ground? Cheers.

Just what you need at half time, someone paying by card :fishing:

Mark Devlin

Have the club considered using portaloos behind Ealing Road stand to alleviate the scrum that occurs every half time with people trying to get to the loos, others trying to get to the beer seller and more trying to get to the food outlet? I think there could be a safety problem very soon if nothing is done.

Mark Devlin

Call it what you like, just needs a term that doesn't explicitly encourage standing but implies that standing will be expected/tolerated in that particular area.

Mark Devlin

Asking about his opinion on safe standing or allocating seating at the back for singing / standing fans should come up.

Mark Devlin

Some grounds have a singing block - can we have whining and moaning block?

Mark Devlin

What events are the club planning for the 125 anniversary that supporters can join in? The dinner is too expensive for me.

Mark Devlin

Can something be done to ensure that the fiasco of an away non playing squad member sitting behind the dug outs complaining about a Bees fan who had paid for his seat celebrating when we scored is never EVER repeated!

Mark Devlin

Why is the stage in The Hive no longer used for events like Fans Forum or Jazz ?

Mark Devlin

I fail to see why New Road should have all the fun - can't we have a rotation system.

Mark Devlin

Will the club be investing in improved PA equipment, so that more supporters can hear the announcements and the great work of Mr Gilham?...
It is often unclear or inaudible even in Braemar Road, and I imagine it is far worse in other areas of the ground.

Mark Devlin

have we considered sharing Lionel road for a season if a Chelsea or spurs still need to move out of their current homes for a season?
