He is just like most of us, played a bit, watched a lot, loves his football, dreams of jacking in his job and being a football manager as he could do better than most of those currently doing it.. But that would never happen in real life would it?

I was a big supporter of Uwe & some people were not. I'm mature enough to understand why they had doubts. Your post however is both divisive & childish. Time to move on.

If only his team talks could have motivated the players during that time on a Saturday, maybe we would have gone up and not suffered the heart break/negative football he produced during his reign. #had a budget did **** all with it.

Yes and no. Barely a day goes by without a post appearing somewhere on the GPG in which the poster belittles the achievement of our previous manager. There is a hard core of posters on this site determined to present the Rösler/Warburton succession in night-and-day terms and deny the continuities. Part of this anti-Rösler campaign takes the form of a systematic rewriting of history, a denial of the facts typified by the author of the post above yours who writes of "the heartbreak/negative football he produced during his reign." To which one can only reply - jeez, do you really not remember the dithyrambic reports and the enthusiasm that featured on here last season, with numerous posters observing that they had not seen such quality football from a Brentford side in years? Moreover, some of the criticisms levelled at Rösler are of a personal nature, and it was good to hear Warburton's endorsement of him as a warm personality and a good friend.

I'll stop defending Rösler's record when the nigglers and the denigrators stop misrepresenting it. Anyway, discussing the relative merits of managers past and present is part and parcel of the great GPG debate.

Your last sentence contradicts the point that you are trying to make. Forget Rosler he's gone and he aint coming back. It doesn't matter anymore if he was good bad or indifferent. You wont change my opinion and I wont change yours so lets just give it a rest and get behind the team and the manager who we now have. They both deserve it!

I would like to thank MW for his efforts thus far but would like to know why he sees Grigg as a player on the left, it didn't work for Uwe and IMO kills the shape and balance of the team.

I don't think you'll see Grigg on the left again for a while after today. Warbs is too smart for that.

Not a lot but he's not a left sided forward/midfielder/winger and it doesn't work, he never looked likely to shoot, cross or beat a man, IMO not his fault and not his position, he is a central forward who isn't playing well enough to oust Trotta and I hope we don't continue to find him a position in the team for the sake of it.

Exactly as I saw it. Tbh, I thought Grigg did a lot of things right, did well helping Bidwell out and worked hard but it's obvious he's not comfortable there and despite Trotta's ghastly second half performance, it's still his to lose at the moment IMO.

You can't fail to be impressed with what Warbs has presided over thus far, but I thought the decision to leave 3 up defending a corner in the last minute of the half when we looked like we needed the half time whistle was too brave, especially when Walsall decided not to leave any more back themselves. Ultimately IMO, it contributed to the goal in that we never really had enough bodies in and around the box to clear our lines properly. Sometimes it's better to make sure you keep the lead you have, rather than looking for an opportunity to extend it.

I'm feeling really positive under Warbs that we will finally start seeing us bringing through some of our own homegrown players into the first team now following recent comments & selections by him. He seems to have the faith (but not blind faith) in when's right to bring them in. Obviously the main objective is promotion this season & the need for tried & tested players to pull us through games is obvious but the odd cameo here & there & involvement with the first team as with Adams yesterday following good performances for the dev squad can only encourage them to push on.

I understand your point but that is Warbs way and the 'attacking' approach will garner us more points than it will lose us. We left three up and Walsall took a chance and left three defenders back, we could have just as easily broken and put the game beyond Walsall. I'm not so sure it contributed to the goal anyway, it was poor defending at the far post and extra bodies wouldn't have helped much as far as I could see. A bit 'gung-ho' or a calcualted gamble rather depends upon the outcome, much in the same way as some - me included- criticised Uwe for his negativity and the points that cost us.

I am sure there will be times when certain attacking policies will lead to goals being conceded, but surely the whole point is that such tactics result in more goals for than against? Can we really say we like the new attacking emphasis and then criticise when something goes against us?

It would appear so :D I'm definitely not criticising the change in approach, it's been hugely successful in unlocking the side's full potential, but at a time when Walsall were on top and with us being so close to half time, I'd have liked to have seen us just make sure we got to the break all square and regrouped.

Brentford’s manager may have played and worked in the game but the former City trader was hardly the obvious choice to take charge at Griffin Park last month. Matthew Benham, the owner, deserves credit for taking the plunge".

Has anyone said that, I haven't read every post but I doubt they have, I'm quite "fascinated" by twisting or sticking, I can remember many games where we changed things under Uwe, some worked, some didn't and I get quite twitchy when we're under the cosh for 15/20 minutes and hope for a change to be made to right the wrong, Swindon at home last season where we were walloped for 65 minutes but not a lot changed and we won. Swindon at home this season where we were IMO being given a lesson in quick and counter-attacking football for 25, Warbs sticks and we are 1 down going nowhere until the comedy free kick, the game changed there and then and we were back involved in that game, that shows balls or complete/blind faith in the system and the players.
Port Vale last weekend, a newish team with the big boys in the stands, 15 minutes of going nowhere and I'm thinking we need something to change or we're losing this, no changes and we take control, I don't care what level you play/played at, I hate that feeling of being under the cosh and rightly or wrongly felt that you go and smash someone or something at the very least to try and curb the pressure, I think Mac has the same ideas.;)
Saturday, we were going nowhere in that second half and it was a poor watch but Warbs stuck with it until very late, we gain a point in a game that had worried me before kick off and certainly during the game, I sometimes feel that the changes appear so obvious and yet more often than not we stick, 13 wins out of 15 says that we aren't doing too much wrong. I do find it fascinating and enjoy thinking about it during (whilst singing;)) and stripping it down afterwards.

Had the pleasure of Mark Warburton, David Weir, Peter Gilham and Royal Oak Bees company last Thursday.
Spent the morning at Jersey Road, was shown all the facilities by PG and watched the players train from
the pitch side. Met several players and was even invited into the pre match analasys.
The day was finished off with all of us having a 3 course meal at Brentford Dock.
BFC have got everything set up for promotion this season, there are exiting times ahead,
the future has never been so good. Everyone involved is so focussed, it is time to believe !!
True professionals, on and off the field !!

I'm with you NB. I think it's probably the weirdest part of being a supporter, the hopelessness when you're on the sidelines thinking "this is so obvious, they HAVE to make a change". I remember being away at Southampton (maybe August '09?) in front of a big crowd where we started losing the midfield battle at about the hour mark and thinking "any eejit can see we need to strengthen the middle of the park in a hurry". Nothing happened, they scored and it's like car crash tv. Bizarrely, I think we got a draw :). Luckily we seem to be more in twist mode nowadays.
