Matchday Programme 22/23

Anyone know who is producing the 22/23 matchday programme? ACA-Creative produced last seasons. Are they doing this season too?

Previously it was Curtis Sports, who I thought provided a much better subscription service. Last season the programme arrived about 5 days after the match. Whereas previously it often arrived on matchday or if not normally the Monday.

Any news appteciated.

prob easier in covid times as just sent to homes not to football clubs first and prob not as many buying

ACA-Creative have confirmed that they will no longer be producing the matchday programme for the 22/23 season. I’ve not seen the club make any information available about what’s happening. Surely they must know what the new arrangements are? There must be a number of fans who would like to take out season subscription, so time is getting a bit short to arrange. I wonder why no information?

Might have to go down the subscription route this season too. Difficult to keep them all in top nick during/after the game

There are a few companies out there who buy the programmes and then re-sell at a profit. Examples are:

Matchday Football Programmes; &,
Old Football Programmes.

Old Football Programmes, for example, are advertising all the Bees home Premiership match programmes for 22/23 at £185. Whereas Matchday Football Programmes are only charging £155 including cup. Last season ACA-Creative (official club programme supplier) charged £99 including cup matches and M60 (un-official and now out of business) were quoting £126.50. Had anyone taken out a sub with M60 then as they stopped trading around November 2021 you would have not received any programmes beyond November and likely no refund either. Stay official.

Cover price may increase for 22/23 but would expect official subscription service to be no more than around £115 inc cup matches. Not sure why silence from the club on this. Must be sorted, I would hope?

Motherwell Bee, if you bought sub online recently (less than 14 days) then I would exercise my legal right (are you in England not sure situation in Scotland?) and cancel for refund. Wait and see what BFC position will be and then if nothing else available officially you can revert to your current position.

Apart from arriving after the game I thought last season’s programmes were excellent and the season ticket subscription decent value as it included home cup games.

Yep, and if we keep Dave Flanagan on cover art it psoes as a nice tabletop piece. I ordered the 16588731886672958454032409058073.jpgposter and it just arrived, looks a beauty.

Do I take it from the fact that nobody is now posting on this that nobody knows whether programmes will be produced for this season?

Also, if so, which company is producing them?

i assume you mean the subscription? £120 for the season vs £4 an issue. Seems steep even with cup games included.
Was £99 also a mark-up on last season's price? (I don't normally buy a programme).

At £99 it was about a fiver including postage. For a nice clean copy that you weren’t going to crumple in your pocket at the game it seemed worthwhile.

Then again it becomes a bit of a bargain if we get to the Carabao SFs and FA Cup QF with a bunch of home ties!

Do you like it? I can't stand it. The programme is mainly excellent and I'm very grateful that unlike some clubs we are still taking it seriously (there are at least half a dozen in the Championship who don't even issue programmes any longer), but it should properly capture these magnificent times we are enjoying and the lack of match action photography really lets it down. We get one, albeit usually large, photo per match. The front cover should be a place to showcase some of those photos and show for posterity Brentford up against the very best in the game.

All opinions of course. I appreciate the alternative take that the covers have had last season and this. Match action photos on the cover feels a bit dated to me. There’s no shortage of visual record of Prem matches as it is, but opinions and taste I guess

There are plenty of places online you can find match and buy match photos.

The cover art is unique and looks great, IMO.

£6 a programme is steep though. I’ve bought every programme for the past three seasons. 19/20 because it was the last year at GP, 20/21 because I liked having something drop through the letterbox in lockdown and last season because it was the first in the PL. At that price it’ll be one of the things I cut back on this year tho.

Yes, but online is very peripheral. Nobody has a collection of online photos and if they do it'll be corrupted or lost over time. It isn't the same as a permanent hard copy record. Anyway, the cover art is all down to personal preference.

I'd be surprised if the programme price is actually £6 per issue - the subscription includes cup games and, presumably (?) postage.

£4 on matchdays. The subscription includes postage.

I think they mean, the front covers are going to tell the story of the campaign, as the artwork of each cover will tell a different part of the story?

Weren't taking cash and weren't taking cards at one point. Which only leaves barter and who carries sufficient riches that will match a BFC programme.

Did get one later but one of the staff at the Globe tidied it up as well as my pint so it was obvs very sought after.

I never saw one seller today.
And that was 20 minutes before kickoff

Only 2 I saw were not taking cash and their card machines didn't work. Managed to get one from the kiosk though

I have just bought one off eBay.
I walked in past Kew Bridge Stn and turned left into Lionel Road and turned right into the ground and none of the usual spots were taken up.
So I have absolutely no idea where they were.

Card machines are ok when they work.
I have a Sum up and they are ok one minute crap the next.
I binned i zettle.

The only one I saw was on the bridge behind the West stand, very slow. Card only. A few people only had cash and got the hump

A completely dopey idea by someone to make programme sales card only payments. I rarely buy a programme nowadays but thought I would today … until I saw the queue! Ridiculous. It seems to take about one minute per transaction.

And if you want a laugh, I was told inside the ground that the reason the card machine behind the south stand wasn’t working was because the paper roll that prints the receipts had run out and they had to send someone to get a new paper roll. Schoolboy stuff, or what!?

But as Reg Varney says, we’re better prepared this season! ??

That’s the problem with cashless. If the computer says no, you’re stumped.
Pretty sure we paid cash at every away game last season.
