Daily Mirror has the fee as £12 million, which surely cannot be the case

That's what Hull would like for him ...........if he goes then around 8-9M will be the fee they can expect and maybe a player thrown in as well?

Michael Turner

And they actually will get the £6m they were offered in the first place.

And Turner goes to the Black Cats instead of Liverpool. I bet he's well chuffed.

Food for thought for any players considering signing a contract to play for Phil Brown in future.

Defender Ledley King was also forced out of Saturday's match with a groin strain.

Spurs are already without the services of centre-backs Michael Dawson and Jonathan Woodgate with Achilles and groin injuries respectively.

You know it makes sense Harry, and we know you like to pay over the odds;)

Michael Turner

According to the sunday times Hull have already rejected sunderland's 10 million bid. Keep bidding Bruce!

Michael Turner

What percentage of any Turner income would we expect to be put towards new Bees players?

with the window 2 days away, none..:D

Michael Turner

A bid for Wilson and some new bulbs in the floodlights perhaps?

but would possibly help us to get a loanee in where we have to contribute towards their wage.....

What I was thinking of, a better class of loanee perhaps

So, if Sunderland now sign Turner for a lower than expected fee....will anyone else begin to feel like we've been swindled, as in reality this guy was the makeweight? Assuming this is registered as a separate transaction, then we've lost out on the sell on for potentially £2.5m of the deal

Not at all. Hull would be mental to do it as a single transaction as they have to give away 30% of the profit on Turner.

Yes, so that's why they do the makeweight as a low value 'undisclosed fee' and then let Turner go for £4m. 30% of a lower figure to give away.:( and consequently we get screwed over

Any player involved in an exchange is also valued as part of the deal.
Anything we get from a Turner deal is a bonus and we should have no reason to suspect they would fiddle the figures (not to mention fool their own fans and the FA)

Michael Turner

goes to show that they will go down this season lol

With attitudes like what there is on that board let's hope they don't win again this season.

Michael Turner

Brown is quoted as saying there have now been three bids close to our valuation :bound: We could well be in the money very soon :D

Michael Turner

SSN saying Turner given permission to speak to Sunderland :bound:

Michael Turner

even Chapmania is happy, this has made my day !!! Thank the lord for the goalline saving clearance against Wolves, this has almost made up the value he lost against Spurs !!

Yep, lets hope it goes all through and the bbc have their finger on the pulse with this. Extra funds would be great, although dont know what our priorities are now with the recent MB deal, ie improve sqaud, reduce debt, new road improvements etc, anyway have good bank hol weekend everybody. :sorted:

Michael Turner

What ever the amount we get, i wonder how long it will take to reach us, ?

Michael Turner

If it helps I'll drive up to Sunderland and pick it up :)

lol i don't think you will be the only one to offer!

if it does go through :sorted: though to put it all into this season's budget would, IMO be silly. Keep it and use it either over the next few seasons to push the budget further. Or use it to pay back some of the people who BU owe money to.

I agree, I think that we should use the majority to pay back monies owing but ring fence a certain amount of the funds (if the deal happens) towards young up and coming talent that can give us a return in a few years (Wilson etc)

Agree

Michael Turner

I think we should.... let the board decide.....

So do I, but I think such a suggestion is actually reasonable and quite astute! It's completely ridiculous to expect every penny to go into the playing budget, we're a club in (still) massive debt and some of it should go into reducing that. However, it would be a shame to not use any of it on players. Assigning it to some sort of 'development' fund (I believe we had/have this - didn't it pay for dickson and elder a few years back?) Would be a good way of trying to get some return on it, rather than spending it on an older pro who may not give us a return.

Michael Turner

If we get £1.5m, spend it on this season. Why not? Its free money!! :D Think of the rewards if we got promoted ;)

I know im talking nonsense, but it would be nice!! A couple of 250k singings, shore up the defence/midfield and take a striker on loan with a nice little fee for the club.. 3 singings would make us serious promotion material.

I gotta stop this daytime drinking!
