6 days to go before the transfer season closes, anyone else think Turner will stay put?

Sadly seems to be going that way. Would be bad for BFC and bad for my fantasy team
:(

Michael Turner

Not sure anyone wants hi and I reckon Hull will think he is worth more to them staying unless they get silly money.

Michael Turner

What's happened to Liverpool's interest?

They have signed a Greek International formerly with Rangers, Centre Back for about £10m cheaper than Turner.

Michael Turner

Idiots. No wonder they're up sh*t creek

They have no money part from overpaying on Johnson. They need Alonso funds to service the interest on their loans.
Benitez, could well jump ship before xmas imho. Their squad outside of about 4or 5 players is ordinary and if Gerrard or Torres miss many games they are very ordinary at best.

Michael Turner

There is always the Xmas window isn't there? Cheer up everyone. Turner won't stay at Hull if they struggle and if he doesn't leave now you just have to hope they finish in the bottom three.

I thought that Liverpool signing was a midfielder?

Michael Turner

Lescott on the move very soon - for £24m apparantly  - so if there is to be a centre half merry-go-round it should start now.

Ridiculous amount of money for a guy who didn't play in the premiersh*t until he was 24 and was only sold for an initial £2 mill transfer fee to Everton. Imagine what players like James Wilson could possibly go for if he continues to progress.

Michael Turner

Turner left out of Hull side tonight in League Cup v Southend.
Rested or avoiding being cup tied ?

Rested, like the other 10 from Saturday.

To be fair Rio Ferdinand was picked for a World Cup squad at Wilsons age. A 19 year old playing third tier football on loan isn't quite the same progress. Lescott was also playing higher league level regually for Wolves at Wilsons age.
Wolves I think have 25% sell on too, so a nice added earner for them. :sorted:

You are right it is ridiculous money but he is an England international and it is Man City. Hence the inflated price tag. I seem to recall mention that Real Madrid were sniffing around him just before he got England call ups. Clearly he's arrived late but made an impact.

Michael Turner

Come on Brucie, you know the 'Price is Right'. Turner plays a 'Good Game, Good Game' :D

It's looking more and more likely that £6-7m is Turner's current market value which leaves Hull with a bit of a dilemma - will they consider that enough or will it be better to hold on to him? I suspect that they'll try the latter so it will end up down to whether Turner will try and force a move. He'd be foolish not to because one bad season for Hull and he'll be history.

Michael Turner

"Turner was wanted by Liverpool and Fulham but Hull's valuation scuppered the deals. However, the player is believed to have grown distracted at the increased interest"

Good lad Michael :sorted:

Nonsense. I'm pretty relaxed about all this. If he keeps putting in decent performances there might be an England squad call up later in the season and that would add an extra couple of million in these crazy times.

I'm hoping to see him at the next friendly after Charlton away.

The deal will be valued and Brentford (and Charlton) will still get the sell on. However, whether the value is reduced in order to avoid paying us is another matter. I assume the agreement when we sold Turner covers such eventualities.

Of course, whether Hull will do a swap deal is another matter. They will be inclined to avoid it I should think as they need cash from the deal to hand over to us and Charlton.

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has confirmed that his club are interested in signing Hull City defender Michael Turner.

Bruce is looking to bolster his defensive options andTurner's future with the Tigers has been subject to speculation all summer, with the centre-back being linked with Liverpool in recent weeks.

Liverpool's interest has seemingly cooled following the acquisition of Sotirios Kyrgiakos from AEK Athens.

Bruce was apprehensive about naming specific players his club has targeted but admitted that Sunderland have spoken to Hull about a potential transfer.

My guess would be Sunderland now with £5m max down with rest in add ons.

Apparently Villa are on the verge of buying Richard Dunne.

Would that be the death knell for the alleged Young/Turner swap?

Michael Turner

I think working under Steve Bruce, a decent centre half in his day, would be a cracking move for Michael. Hull way overpriced him at the start of the summer, and who can blame them if they got a sale, but now they have him realistically priced at about £6million. Hull can use the money to buy probably two players, and Sunderland will have themselves a very decent defender in Turner....Sunderland is definately the team we should keep our eye on.:sorted:

Someone just hand over the cash, this has been dragging on FAR too long now :zzzzz:

Curtis Davis went off with what looked like a dislocated shoulder, even with Dunne Villa are now short of CH's..

Maybe a bidding war might be back on...a bit...

Reports now suggest £6m + Noseworthy & Murphy. Not sure what that would make the possible total outlay value.

:D Think Murphy had talks with Hull a month or so back that fell through & he was going to cost them £1.5m. Noseworthy regular premier CB last season probably £1mish.

SSN latest saying Sunderland in advanced talks with Hull over deal for Turner

Michael Turner

Its not quite £12m, but 15% of £6m?

£900,000? NICE!

Michael Turner

£843,750 if my maths serves me right.....

I fancy a 400k bid for James Wilson and a 400k bid for Ben Hamer with more than enough change to buy everyone inside GP a pint.

Independent Newspaper is reporting the fee to be £8 million this morning... contrary to what everything else is saying!
