Michael Turner
He's not very quick?
Perfect replacement for Sami Hyypia then.

Well Hull are trying to ensure they keep him!
Titus Bramble is like sh*t off a shovel but I know who I'd rather have in my back 4.
Didn't we increase the %age of the sell on fee that Charlton get to reduce the asking price they wanted when we signed him?
30% sell on fee but that was split with Charlton so we get half (15%)...
As I understand it.
To what extent was Leroy consulted about the player sales?
He was involved in all of them. No, he wasn't involved with Tabby, because Tabby had effectively gone already. We all knew, didn't we that he was going. If we'd gone up last year, Tabby would have stayed but we didn't so he left. It's a shame that we didn't have him under contract because we would have got significantly more for him, but he did a great job for us. Turner, none of us wanted to sell. We would not have sold Turner if we'd had the choice. But Turner had a thing written in his contract which said if someone comes in from a higher division, he's got the right to discuss it with them and go. It was a strange negotiation because the bloke from Hull got Charlton to reduce the amount of money they were going to take.
I would have thought you'd have called up Michael Grade?
I didn't need to. The bloke from Hull rang up and said, “If I can get it reduced ... will you sell?” And I said, “Yeah.”
They have a large sell on now from Hull.
We went down from 20% to 15% and they (Charlton) will also get 15%. My view was take the cash now. Who knows what happens in the future?
at this rate Hull will be in the championship next season and Turner may go for a pittance

Hull looking at another c half for 2mill could be good news for us ???????
It would seem odd to me that Turner would sign a new contract at Hull 4 days ago ( when he still had 2 yrs left on his current one) and then leave the club straight away.
I really don't think he'll go anywhere til the summer at earliest.
Imagine, Turner clears one off the line in the 90th minute on the final day to keep Hull in the prem, he gets an England call up and then leaves for a cool £15 million in the summer, netting us an even cooler £2.25 million.
Sorry that should say expressed a desire to sign a new contract

The way Hull have been shipping goals lately probably means that his transfer value is now closer to three million.
They kept a clean sheet yesterday, and Turner almost scored, or did he?
Bad news here boys, apparently Turner is talking with Hull to sign an improved deal today...

Not necessarily bad news alonger contract makes him worth more. He could be off in the summer.
Wayne Bridge signed a new 4 year deal at Chelsea in July, where is he now?![]()
That's what I was thinking. I reckon that all they've done is persuade him to not leave in January and as a return have upped his wages. Let's hope that Hull sink like a stone now - but not Turner's form of course.![]()
and if you check out the papers on a sunday/monday he has been the highest marked/star player in the Hull side most matches, since their dip in form.
As much as I rate him, Hull have concededthe most goals in the premiership and Turner's played almost every match. Yes he's scored 3 goals it's surprising the interest in him.
How many would they have conceded without him?
Nobody would know, would they, from the reports and reading about his exploits up at Hull, Turner has been the one shining light.probably about 8 LESS............................ i don't see your point.Nobody would know, would they, from the reports and reading about his exploits up at Hull, Turner has been the one shining light.
BBC Sport Player Rater man of the match: Hull's Michael Turner 8.47 (on 90 minutes).
As much as I loved Michael Turner, I'm affraid he looks well out of his depth in the prem.
Despite some stiff competition in this thread - which has been very interesting to read through - this post stood out more than any other.![]()

This is fantastic news for us.![]()
The Chelsea - Hull game was broadcast live in Czech Rep today & from the 60 mins I saw Turner was really excellent. Strong in the air, positioned himself well at the near post to cut out a couple of dangerous low crosses & starting to use the ball like we know he can, one left foot pass in particular when it would have been easier to just hoof it.......Hopefully to Man City at the end of the seasonThe Chelsea - Hull game was broadcast live in Czech Rep today & from the 60 mins I saw Turner was really excellent. At some point, Hull WILL be forced to sell him & we WILL make a mint![]()
