Michael Turner

How old is he, I am sure it has been mentioned already but there are 300 posts here

Michael Turner

Quality, he hopefully has one big move in him then...

Michael Turner

watching the hull-spurs game tonight, very interesting viewing - he's very important for them. quality player :sorted:

Given the way Hull are dropping down the table I can't see him wanting to play Championship football next year so a summer move could be in the offing!

Yes if Hull go down - which is looking increasingly likely then he'll surely go... Reckon the price might drop slightly but increase the chance of him leaving...

My bet is £5.5 million... which will mean £825k coming our way... which should help us get a decent striker to replace Rhodes when he goes back to the tractor boys... Maybe even sign him permanently... err... well we can dream.

Michael Turner

£825,000.... pay off our debts pls

lets not set our targets too low....

£22m bid from Barca next August, to replace Puyol, nets us a tidier sum, surely...

Michael Turner

Linked again to a summer move to Liverpool.

I reckon if Hull stay up (which I think and hope they will), then it will take somewhere between 8/10 million to prise him away.:) However, if Liverpool and Man City get involved in a price war, who knows where the final offer will stop.

Michael Turner

Not sure what our add ons are, but apparently Turner was very close to England call up this week but unfortunatley has a thigh injury and Capello was told before naming his squad. .

So he called up Ledley King instead!

In today's Sun " England have been in touch with regard to his fitness levels but it's not officially a call-up" "Michael's nursing a pulled thigh. We'll assess it in the next 24 hours"

Hull are looking a bit precarious now. If they go down surely another Prem club would be in for him. That would be good for us right?

Not sure. If Hull go down he'd go for a cut price and we'd get instant cash, whilst if they stayed up he'd probably go for alot more in jan transfer window time.

Michael Turner

According to yesterdays News of the screws IF Hull are relegated Turner wants to stay in the PL in order to pursue his England chance
They are talking£5/6 million

Despite some stiff competition in this thread - which has been very interesting to read through - this post stood out more than any other. :sorted:

In my defence I made that quote on the 30th of August 2008, just after watching Hull get battered 5-0 at home to Wigan. I now fully hold my hands up now to this ridiculous comment. :blush

DK: Who have been your best and worst players this season?

TS: Best Player would be Michael Turner who looks every inch a top defender but Ian Ashbee has, rather improbably, raised his performance levels to the extent whereby he is a key element of the team. However the average armchair fan still finds it appropriate to denigrate him at every opportunity. Ash is the one player I would love to be and that for me is a sign of a true cult hero.

Dean Marney has struggled, and that's me being polite. Marlon King riled me due to his poor attitude.

JA: Best player has been Michael Turner. If we do go down, he surely will be picked up by a Premier League club. As for the worst, Dean Marney has failed to live up to his potential, and salary, for the three years he’s been with us. With Boateng or Ashbee alongside him, he should be a real menace. He isn’t.

TC: Michael Turner has been excellent all season. He’s a top centre half and will definitely move to a bigger club in the summer, regardless of where we finish. Kevin Kilbane was a shocking signing in January, a beacon of our naiviety in the transfer dealings at the turn of the year. Dean Marney has been poor after earning a new contract at the start of the season.

JL: Turner and Ashbee have been our best players, solid and consistent.

JR: Can I have two? Michael Turner has been immense, even if we stay up I don't know if he'll be here next season. The other is Ian Ashbee. Every season he steps up and hasn't looked out of place in the Premier League and nobody has bossed him about this season. In the games he's missed through suspension and injury you can see a massive Ashbee sized hole in middle of the park. Without him there is no leadership.

As for the worst I would have to say Dean Marney. He's got potential but he just doesn't apply himself. I think the Premier League is a step too far for him.

Michael Turner

He's got to go for big money soon, surely? It's so annoying - like an itch you can't scratch. :(

I agree especially if they don't stay up.One of the north west clubs i would think would be in there like a shot.

Michael Turner

Player Of The Year three seasons in a row is mightily impressive. Come on Liverpool and Manchester city, get into a bidding war, and be usurped by Manchester United at the last minute with an £18 million winning bid!

Michael Turner

I have been doing a relegation dance for Hull for the past 5 months but I think he will go at the end of the season irrespective of where they finish

Michael Turner

Villa need to replace Martin Laursen and O'Neil loves an Englishman

Actually I want them to stay up - as you say, he will go regardless at the end of the season and surely Hull would have more leverage in transfer negotiations as a Premiership side than a Championship bound team in a fire sale?

Michael Turner

As squelch says, we have to hope that Hull stay up, Turner is going regardless, and if they stay in the League they will be able to hold out for a far better deal than if they were Championship bound.

Any number of clubs would be intestered, still young, great reader of the game, english, good injury record....we should be laughing all the way to the bank soon (until we get a mini-statement)

Defender Michael Turner has disappointed Liverpool by pledging his future to Hull. (Various)

Hopefully a smart move to get bidders to throw more cash into the transfer fund.

lol he would be a fool if this was to be true. Hull had a woeful end to the season and could very easily be going down next season. Surely if Liverpool F.C offered you a contract, you wouldn't think twice

Read that in the Hull Daily Mail as well, what exactly does 'pledging your future mean'. He's got a contract anyway, City have stayed up and everyone's getting excited and he says he's going to stay with them.

It's a bit different from Liverpool making an offer and him turning it down...

:imwith: I quite like the idea of challenging for the title and Champions League but what I really want is to play alongside Anthony Gardener :sorted:

I feel sure that i the likes of Liverpool or Manchester City are really interested in Mr. Turner, then it will be almost impossible for Hull to fend off the interest. It will simply be a case of how much money they can get for him.

I just can't see Hull refusing a bid of somewhere between 5 & 8 million.

and i cannot see Turner turning down a chance to play with one of the big 4 or a team like Man City, splashing the cash to get into at least the top 6.

Michael Turner will be moving on to better things, i hope the fee is huge and that BFC can get at least £750k out of the deal.

Michael Turner

i think that hull will accept maybe less than 5 million as if there is an offer from a big club, turner will want to leave and hull can do little to stop him.

 as he's contracted to them, for a little longer than 1 year, Turner will have to sit and wait, unless there is an agreed transfer fee in his new contract he signed, which allows him to move on.

I don't have a problem with him staying until the January transfer window since hopefully that will give him time to be given 10 minutes as one of the 117 subs thrown on in the second half of England internationals and thereby further ramp up the selling price :D

Michael Turner

As a Bees fan I wish him well and would expect about £8/9 Million (about£1.25 mill for us) and say £1 mill of the debt(interest part hopefully) balance for Andy.

For Turner though he should think about Sidwell, doubled his money going to Chelski and basically lost momentum in his career but who knows?

I don't think it would be unreasonable for city to reject a £3/4 million offer from Liverpool on the basis that Turner's worth more than that and that Liverpool can afford more than that.

I see where your coming from, it would be unfair to Turner to reject a good offer and wouldn't be good for them in the long run either.

Why have Hull declined a bid or has Turner turned down the chance of joining Liverpool-Man City or whoever

you cant beleive what the papers say so wait and see what happens

IMO £10M will be the minimum that Hull will look to receive when you consider that Brentford & Charlton have 15% each to come their way.

It's Brentford innit so can anyone see this really happening ? :fishing:

Would have thought much depends on what Brown requires to try and build for next season. He might need £5m+ if he can get an experienced alternative for very little. He worked along Allardyce at Bolton who regularly did this sort of thing.
Some of it may well be out of his hands too as Turner (along with many players) might have a clause in his contract that allows him to speak to other clubs if a certain price is triggered. I'd actaully be surprised if he didn't have such a clause.
