The Americanisation of cricket

Firstly, after much planning, we’re delighted to announce that Middlesex are pioneering the competition’s first ever ‘double header’ fixture, when on Saturday 17 May Lord’s will host two back to back NatWest t20 Blast matches. This showpiece event will see the Panthers take on both the Essex Eagles and the Sussex Sharks.

WHY ???

Is it a legal thing that Lords can only have floodlights on a certain number of days ??? (This is backed up by having a double header )

Or is it due to Lords having the Sri Lanka Test the weekend before ??

makes a lot of sense to me :shrug:

there's a lot of moaning around cricket, but i think the authorities actually do a pretty good job of experimenting and trying things out. of course it'll be great if they can settle on a format which works for everyone going forward, but i guess there's still a few years left of tweaking various aspects...

only had the time (or attention span) for spending 2 and a half to 3 hours at the cricket !!!
