Middlesex CCC 2017
It was a very long day but enjoyable. Didn't finish until about quarter to seven.
Eskinazi played well but had a number of fortunate breaks. Compton took a good one in the box followed shortly by one on the inside of his knee hence he retired injured but returned when the next wicket fell.
Had a bit of a chat with some of the Middlesex players. Finn has a back problem, not too sure how long it will before he is back again. Unless there are injuries it was felt that Morgan will not play any county cricket this season
Unfortunately can't go tomorrow as some paid work has come up but might be able to for the final day.

Clarke and Barker still to come, and they were the top scorers in the first innings (Barker=).

Amersfoort is a nice weekend away peeps, Utrecht not too far either. Now that would be a decent pre season friendly.

It's looking both Somerset and Warwickshire are going to win.
That's really not good for Middlesex.

Well, some of you above were lacking faith. Easy win
. Ryan Higgins is rather a neat young batsman (only 22). Another easy win against Warwick in the nest game and we will scream up the table.
I can thoroughly recommend the £99.99 package there. Two course meal, free beer and/or wine and great seats.

I would describe it as a close call.
If we'd lost that, we'd be under real pressure.

I was there. We were playing with them. We were trying to suggest that they had a chance of avoiding relegation
.Really I was never in any doubt that we would win.

Amersfoort is indeed a very nice place.
Some 10-15 years ago a Dutch friend of mine who was the chairman/president of Amersvoode FC told me that they were playing Ajax in a pre-season friendly. The Amersfoorde ground was on the opposite side of the road where I was living. I went to the match which had a great atmosphere even though the home side were in the 12/13th level in the Dutch league. Five or six of the Ajax first team played in the game which they won 10-0. The match was arranged because one of the Amersfoorde coaches was a brother of an Ajax coach.
