Kumar Sangakkara: 1442 runs from 14 innings for Surrey, an average of 110, the next batsman down the list ignoring those who've only played a couple of games, is Gary Ballance with an average of 77.
Sangakkara has hit 8 hundreds and 2 fifties.
He is phenomenal.

No doubt, an absolute class act. We've been lucky to have him at Surrey.

Having only 14 games to play is probably one reason.

Another is only 1 team has consistently won matches all season

Surrey have drawn 10 and won only 2, one more than relegated Warwicks, yet are currently second in the table. Lucky them.

Middlesex have earned more batting points than Essex

You can't just look at one stat on the table

You have to look at the whole thing


But the blindingly obvious stat is

If you can't take 20 wickets
You are not going to win the Championship

Surrey are undefeated this season at all County Grounds

Their only defeat was at Guildford !

No play so far in Hampshire's game at Edgbaston, and good amount of rain forecast there for Wednesday.

Somerset need to up their scoring rate if they want to get maximum batting points, they must also know that Middlesex will likely try and bat for two days just to prevent a defeat.
