Middx CCC 2012.

Great ton from Malan. Where are you guys?

Middx CCC 2012.

Yep. Shame for him. Great knock. Had nothing to gain when he first came out to bat.

Middx CCC 2012.

286-6 two wickets in two balls

Middx CCC 2012.

...............couple of quick wickets gone..........

Middx CCC 2012.

Good bowling by Woakes. New ball seems to do a bit. It seems to be a case of survive the first 20 overs and then you can make hay. Advantage Warwickshire at the moment.

Middx CCC 2012.

324/7, good score atm, title challange back?

Middx CCC 2012.

.............hoping for sunshine tomorrow............

Middx CCC 2012.

Was the first cricket match I'd been to in years. Excellent days play with only about 15 mins stoppage for rain

Middx CCC 2012.

Middlesex would have taken that at the toss, not at tea though. Malan wants 370 but if Woakes/Wright continue where they left off it will be a hard ask. Pitch has something there for bowlers and batsmen. Think Warwickshire inserted because of the Notts game.

Middx CCC 2012.

376/9 currently.

11th wicket now worth 46....

Middx CCC 2012.

Bottlers. One run away from the 10th wicket record.

Middx CCC 2012.

...mixture of conditions...cloudy at present amd Warks are 22-2...

Middx CCC 2012.

............Warwickshire made steady if unspectacular progresss............suspect it's heading for a draw...........

Middx CCC 2012.

............209-4.............

Middx CCC 2012.

...lovely and sunny at Uxbridge...match now 36 overs...Middx reach 229-4...Morgan 120 not out with some huge sixes...

Middx CCC 2012.

...92-2 from 20 overs in reply...

Middx CCC 2012.

Who needs 24 from the last over and still ties the game?! SHOCKING!!

..............yep.............unbelievable..............thought it was done and dusted going into the last over...........and the had the chance of a run out on the last ball and missed it............

Middx CCC 2012.

..............away at Sussex today..............

Middx CCC 2012.

62/5

In what must be near perfect batting conditions too. Looks like this title challenge is turning into a relegation scrap at this rate!

Middx CCC 2012.

.................not a good first day.............

Middx CCC 2012.

Sussex 287

Toby-Jones gets 6/66.

Got a chance here, but need 350+

Middx CCC 2012.

...............92-2at close of play..........

Middx CCC 2012.

Middlesex have pretty much had the perfect day against my boys at The Oval.
Surrey all out for a dismal 144 (having won the toss!)
Middlesex looking comfortable on 64 - 0 (after 20 overs)

Relegation looms for Surrey I am afraid; and from what I saw today, at least, looks fully deserved.

Middx CCC 2012.

...............Middlesex looking comfortable??????..........really?????????...........

Middx CCC 2012.

.............Middx close on. 99-1...............

Frankly. I think they are in cruise control against my team who look a complete and utter shambles.

Roland-Jones and Tim Murtagh look a great bowling partnership.

.............strange times..............Surrey looked a good outfit at the beginning of the season and I thought they would push on and finish higher than Middx............

Middx CCC 2012.

Middlesex moving towards a comfortable first innings lead. Currently 158 / 3 – which gives a lead of six runs, with six wickets to fall. Tom Smith and Dawid Malan the not out batsmen

Middx CCC 2012.

Well – from a Surrey perspective, and I appreciate that this isn't a "Surrey" thread – Surrey's only redeeming feature this year has been our bowling.
Still surprised to see Middlesex go from 164 / 4 to 188 / 9.
It seems to be a match for bowlers damaging their previous employers. Five wickets for Tim Murtagh and four for Murali Kartik.

Mini recovery from Middlesex; currently 212 / 9.

Stedders, did you live next door to me when I had my year on Middx Colts books?
If so, I didn't know or even think you were a cricket man, I had nobody watching me when I got my games on the Lords nursery pitch, think what might have been.:(

That's a shame as we lost to Yorkshire and Surrey, knowing how rare a Surrey win is at Lords, you'd have had a pleasurable day out. If I get called up again, you never know they might throw out some old records and see a that they had a 6ft 4 12 year old and realise letting me go was a mistake, I'll let you know. Surely my mum told you, she told everyone else.:(

Middx CCC 2012.

Burns and Harinath batted brilliantly this morning.
New ball did the damage this afternoon.

Middx CCC 2012.

Having witnessed the Surrey batting fiasco on the first day I would have thought Middlesex would this one easily. However . . .

The recent championship games between these two sides have been noticeable for some dramatic collapses on both sides, so Middlesex 254 to win could be tricky

Middx CCC 2012.

Roland Jones 5 for again. Surely the England Lions shoukd be noticing!?

Middx CCC 2012.

..............yep..............he's had a good season so far................

OK, it was only on one day – and the bowling conditions were quite helpful for seam bowlers (irony given that Surrey won the toss, but that's another matter) but I think the partnership of Tim Murtagh and Roland-Jones looked as good as any in county cricket.

and to cap it all they had 44 run partnership for the 10th wicket.

It is all set to be a very big day tomorrow.

For Surrey (and I appreciate no one on this thread will have any sympathy for us – don't worry I've heard it all) if we lose this will be a shattering blow; but for Middlesex a win would kill off any relegation worries they might have had (and I can't see it even if they did lose).
