I have always rated him and was very pleased that we took the chance on him. But, but, but…it’s wild to think that this ISN’T the player we bought.
A very talented and technical winger/#10, yes - but how the coaches and Frank has Frankensteined him into a midfield beast, is beyond me. Credit to the club for seeing that type of player in him.

I thought he was good at the end of last season, but he just keeps getting better and better and better.

I know that he's been in and out of the Danish side recently. Is his new lease of life being noticed more widely in Denmark at the moment? His form must be good news for your national team as well as us.

So if Bryan (or whoever) takes the ball outside the fullback to the byeline and cuts it BACK for Yoanne to score - that's NOT progressive and the analysts will discount it?
That’s an assist or an expected assist which gets counted as a different stat. As is the carry or dribble to get to the byline. Progressive passing is a stat to cover more “unseen” work before you get there.

Maybe not noticed as much as it should - imo at least. However, his inclusion in the national side is no longer up for debate by the media and/or danish pundits.

the whip he gets under the ball is so deceptive and difficult for defenders to predict. Its actually exactly the same technique he used for the free kick screamer against England. The ball just goes so high and then drops while its spinning. Super dangerous.

Exactly this. I was skeptical when TF said he could see him as an 8 when we signed him but i couldnt see it myself. A technical winger that drifts inside? Absolutely. A 10...and kind of special false 9? Maybe.

I thought he meant a 10/8 hybrid maybe but Damsgaard has proved me wrong. His improvement in ball winning and on the defensive side completely crazy. He is all over the opponents.

He doesnt need to outmuscle them, when he can stress them and poke a foot in there and cause a turnover
Watched his corners carefully yesterday. He somehow seems to strike the ball earlier than the arc of the swing of the kicking leg would lead you to expect. This seems to generate the ’whip’ that you mention. It’s almost like an optical illusion.
All the more amazing when you consider his legs look like very snappable twigs !

I agree, think it would work. As it stands however, Damsgaard gets the vote over Jensen if I had to choose, his performance levels are off the chart atm.
The mindsets of CAM and CDM are completely different. I think they are probably the most different on the pitch. CAMS are always trying to nick the ball and make a play. CDM’s are just destroyers trying to break a play with almost no other thought. I’d say you would almost never see Jensen slide in with a split blocking tackle like Norgaard. To do his job he had to stay on his feet. Same with dams. Jensen and dams rarely do sliding blocks.

Striking the ball with his size 3 feet he’s more sandwedge than driver…

100% agree. His ball winning is now superb. Note also his recovery runs now extremely rapid.

Makes Troy’s PL team of the week because his mate told him ?

Couldn’t even be bothered to watch the game, even the highlights, himself to find out.

This is apparently acceptable analysis for a BBC pundit? The man is stealing a wage.

So many of our players take a while to get going, all part of the plan, both Dams and LKP have shown glimpses here and there but this season they have stepped up to the level and look the real deal.

He should have just lied. Did Garth Crooks watch all the games? Hardly.

Nothing precise about the injury. Let’s hope it is just a precaution.
I notice quite a few players from various clubs have dropped out of the squads. Perhaps the ‘vulnerability to injury’ analysis warns them of the need for some rest. Mikkel will certainly not want another long spell out and Christian has only just returned.

Id almost be more worried if he wasn't "injured". Just hit the form of his life and made himself indispensable to us, wouldn't wanna risk him getting crocked on international duty with his injury record.

If he does have something let's hope it's minor and let's hope it gives carvalho the opportunity to cause Thomas some real selection headaches

A precursor to the ‘Long Read article (due soon). It does include a fascinating comment by Mikkel where he says;

“When you’ve had a long-term injury, you don’t have your confidence. Your body doesn’t move the way you want it to, but you don’t understand why it doesn’t.

The first step is being able to move the way you want; then you can do the things you have in your mind.”

A subject that many of us, perhaps, may not have considered in the return from injury process.

Its a bit like getting old - just that you never will get back to moving the way you want and you certainly cannot do the things you have in your mind !!

Your post isnt needed.

Read a few posts further up and you will see people going on about a potential injury.
Your post wasn’t needed though. Thomas Frank had a press conference this afternoon, which is referenced on the BFC website, where he says Mikki is ready for the weekend. There was no credible rumour of an injury at any point, so why ask about a rumour when info from the horse's mouth was available (Thomas being the horse in this scenario)
