Two players… whoever we’re playing with Janelt at LB, the left-sided midfielder needs to sit deeper and cover. It’s been Jensen usually.

Yes, thank you for proving my point that playing Roerslev LWB and Ajer RWB to avoid putting Janelt up against a top class winger didn’t work at all.

We look awful in a 433 against the top sides, they dominate the midfield with the extra man and we are pressed to death and either give the ball away of hoik it to nobody.


It will be 532, and rightly so. Soak it up and hit on the counter.

The back 5 should be Ajer Mee Pinnock Zanka Roerslev/ Janelt there should be no question over wether Mee can step in or Zanka as both have done what’s asked of them before !

I like the idea of a flat 4-5-1. Keep the numbers in the middle.

We often have the nominal 3-5-2 but it’s actually a 5-5-0, with both attackers dropping into wide midfield to mark the opposition full backs!

Yeah, Just sometimes i think we are actually good enough to play a 4 at the back.

I get what your saying but Saka is very very quick and is probably there best player Vita isn’t the quickest unless the left centre half Mee or Zanka covers him every time

I think we’ve seen before that the 5 is not really a 1-3-1 but more weighted to a 2-1-2 with the outer centre backs covering the full backs and Nørgaard sometimes covering the central defender, if that makes sense.

Agreed but the 1 in the middle seems a little redundant and may be having a mobile midfielder alongside CN covering midfielders coming into the box makes more sense to me.

Yes, but it’s usually Ethan and I can’t think of another mobile midfielder other than Jensen… maybe we can bring Yarmolyuk into the equation?

The 433 option being mooted would be very brave but certainly has its attractions given how Arsenal are likely to set up. We would need to have another midfielder and winger available too to boost the bench in Baptiste and KLP.

Agree but Ben is a proper defender does all the simple things well I don’t think it’s a big a loss as some are making out tbh
