New Rivalries

Now we have no ra ras or fulscum to beat is it time for new or re acquainted rivalry? We have history with Watford and our owner with BHA but other than some individuals historical reasons to dislike a club, due to the sheer time since we were last competing at this level there does not seem to be any other team of significance. I write this as I will miss those types of game.

And fulham struggle as low as possible. A once in a blue moon cup game where we paste them will do me.

The longer them 2 drop and become more insignificant, the more fun it will be.

You can’t just invent a rivalry out of thjn air without looking silly. There’s history with Watford but not that a lot of fans under 40 would get. I suppose Norwich are polite enough to create a rivalry to tide them over while Ipswich languish in L1 and not just laugh. I think we don’t really need one and can just enjoy the chance to put one over on a few big clubs while waving from a distance at QPR and Fulham.

Honestly, clubs that will become our rivals may come to the fore over the next year or two. Will Chelsea? Maybe in a local sense, but they won't see us as too much of a rival, given they don't with Fulham or QPR and there is no real hate between our clubs (currently).

Leeds will be interesting...I don't think things will be forgotten there (Or mainly, I don't think they'll forget things which were barely a thing in the first place, but which they took personally anyway). Watford would be interesting, I could see something there developing. West Ham....I hope we don't lose to them. I could see arrogance.

But it's new territory for us and others. Right now we're little 'good for them' Brentford, see how that develops...

I kinda get what you're saying, but most RaRas I know are definitely getting irked by our success and the dislike levels grown significantly. They may well pretend Chelsea are still rivals ?? but we're definitely up there these days, well we were until we left them behind ??

It was when the first leg of the LC 1st round was played on the weekend before the League season started. This accounted for a large number of Chelsea fans turning up.
Interesting day on and off the pitch.

Arsenal & Chelsea. Just because they were the other London Club’s in the top tier. Charlton were good then too but, reading reports etc, those two were looked at as rivals to the Bees.

Rivalries have always existed. Fulham & Ra ras go way back to the early days. Some good mentions of it in papers then.

Didn’t Chelsea do something with the gate money for that f a cup tie? I can’t remember exactly what it was now. I think that announcer was correct if he was referring to McEchran!

Clearly a very strange bloke. Lots of London derbies this year but no genuine rivalries.

If you asked those clubs to name, even, their top 10-15 ‘rivals’ we wouldn’t get anywhere near thw list for any of them… I’d imagine, other than when we’re playing their team, they’ll want us to win every other game this season.

Our ONLY rivalry this season is watford.........its still on going and the scenes after both the last games at gp and vr showed the yooooof on both sides take it seriously too i dont like em and never will....we wouldnt have a song about em and still sing it regularly if there wasnst a rivalry/history there
