I have heard that some Directors of the club think that Andy Scott should become our next manager if Butcher has to leave.

What do Bees supporters think?

John Mackie, Lee Thorpe, Craig Pead - three distinctly average signings on Andy Scott's recommendation. It is essential that any new manager gets the signings right so that should rule him out.

TBH, with their record none of the directors ought to have much say on the next manager. They need external help from people within the football industry.

When Butcher eventually goes, it is blindingly obvious that the successor has to have a track record of success. I personally don't care if it is in Blue Square or Conference South or whatever non-league (in fact I think there's a lot to be said for having that background). Previous mediocrity as per Leroy and TB cannot be accepted. The fact that we have the carrot of the new stadium will surely be an incentive for a dynamic new (younger ?) manager on the way up through non-league? Up The Bees; remember we were bottom of the old 4th Division at one stage in the 1970s...

he may well make a manager in the future
but our need is desperate now and experience is essential

:rolleyes: ...................that couldn't possibly be the case, as whenever the sh*t hits the fan (as seems more often these past couple of years), we get the 'Lessons have been learned' script read to us..........the lesson of last season (and this season as well, come to that) is that appointing a manager without experience of this level of football does not work for BFC..............

What complete nonsense - Scott is as responsible, if not more so than Butcher for the current debacle. I have said it several times before but his appointment as assistant was possibly the worst decision Butcher has made in his time here. He is clueless and the signings that were made early on his recommendation have proved to be disastrous.

Was Butcher gently persuaded to employ Scott?

I liked Andy Scott when he was here as a player but he clearly is not up to the job of managing at this level in any capacity.

Maybe the big problem here is that we have a manager who has yet to prove himself really in any capacity, certainly not in England and I also have it on good authority (through a source at another club who knew Andy very well) that Andy is picking the team and is very much "the" manager.

In fairness, why would Moore who is being tracked by Leeds be keen to remain as a bit part player at a struggling div 4 side.

Starosta has always said that he is keen for the games but wants to force his way into conetnetion at Sheff U so a bit mischievous blaming it on the training regime.

I don't think of for one minute that the board would appoint Scott as a permanent replacement for TB if and when he leaves as his signings have been too much of a disappointment to everyone to leave him with any chance IMHO.

I'm sure it was Butcher's final decision, but you have to suspect that Scott wouldn't have had a sniff of the job if it wasn't for his previous connections with Brentford..

rofl I think that would be an acceptable result for KD , knowing he expects any side with a bigger budget to humiliate us

this is last season all over again.

Butcher will be staying till xmas if the directors get their way, unless the new directors can make changes and BU step in to demand changes if BU have the balls to do it. Or Matthew Benham demands changes and has an influence over who should get the job.

Little would've been a good choice, but he's at Wrexham now, now way will AS be given the job, and now way will it be Marshall. It has to be a low leagu manager with knowledge of the players within League's 1 and 2 and the Ryman and Blue Square divisions. Maybe too much for Devonshire?

Okay, part of the reason. It was always a gamble, though, with our part-time media pundit and manager.

So nothing's going to change until the new manager is appointed. Butcher was probably just a figure head
