The 49ers gave it their all. Were magnificient in defense they battered Eli.

However those two mistakes by the kid Walker cost us dearly. Plus some missed opportunities to pick off Eli. I feel for Walker, I'd lay the blame on Alex Smith and the offense. 1/14 3rd down conversions will lose you most games. And Crabtree was totally anonymous.

However proud of the side, after 9 years of losing, we have a team to be proud off, some great memories to look back on this season.

Giants were awesome, Eli is close to Elite if not already there. And their Defense was again strong. They will give the Pats a good game and I feel their name is on the trophy.

:sad: Not one of our happier nights it has to be said. It'll be a tough game and I can only hope we'll get our revenge over the Giants. They've already beaten us this season though so I'm not exactly brimming with confidence. Still at least we are there. :sorted:

Yeah, I was really hoping SF would beat NY, as I felt New England could beat them. Curse that forward motion rule! I fear NY will move the ball easily, while Brady won't get enough time against the NY pass rush.

Hoping to break my Patriots duck (26 years and haven't seen a Superbowl win yet) but not feeling confident. And now we hear the Gronk has ligament damage. :(

At the end of each quarter the score must be something 0-0 ... so 10-0, 0-10, 0-0 or 10-10 etc, I win.

The Giants were also down 10-9 at half-time in Superbowl XXI (also with a TD and a safety) but went on to wallop Denver 39-20. Another boring but true fact from the Pixie.

The Patriots only let Bradshaw score so we wouldn't have to endure another Eli Manning: How I Did It video. And for that we should thank them.

I gave up just before half time and went to bed.

THought The Giants were going to walk it after the errors from The Pats, looks like I missed an exciting one.

That last Giants touchdown was weird and a strange call from the Pats coach, even though it was explained to me.

I understood the reasoning.
Giants were a few points down, nailed on to score a Field Goal at least.
Instead of going for the touchdown and guarenteeing the Pats one / two chances to reply, the ball carrier should have stopped at the 1 yard line.
Then they could have taken their time and used up another 10-15 seconds on the FG attempt.

The Pats were just a few feet away from a dramatic winning TD from a 40 yard pass...dramatic ending to a decent game

Yeah I got that. Just looked funny as the rusher stopped on the line then fell over it.

Another reason why I hate the Saints, with the other being when they beat us in the NFC conference final in 09. Looking forward to the draft this year, expecting it to be the most suprising and action packed one yet!

More interesting is who 'RG3' will end up with in the draft. Assuming the Colts take Luck, the Rams can effectively hold everyone in the market for a QB to ransom...or even take him themselves.

Sad day for a Colts fan, both Manning and Irsay sounded close to tears at times in the press conference. I hope Manning ends up in a good situation, he deserves a shot at another ring or two before he retires if he is the player he was before the injury.

'RG3' on his way to Washington. They've given up 2013 and 2014 first round picks to the Rams!

Apparently Arizona and Denver are Manning's preferred choices. If that's the case I can see it being Denver so he's not in the same conference as Eli...but then what will become of Tim Tebow? Great post season stories...

Can't believe he did not choose the niners. He has a legimate shot at a super bowl ready team. Denver have lots holes in their side and a brutal schedule. If Alex Smith does not re-sign with the 49ers it could be a tough season for them especially as they also have a tough schedule.

NFL announce their punishment of the Saints - the headline events are head coach Sean Peyton banned for a year and they lose second round picks in the draft this year and next year. Gregg Williams (now DC of the Rams) banned indefinitely.

In other news, the Broncos have traded Tim Tebow to the jets after landing the G.O.A.T.
