Offered incentives (or bounties) to deliberately injure or knock out of the game selected players. Usually the opposing QB. Supposedly Greg Williams' doing, but with Sean Payton's knowledge.

I thought that was part of the game.

In other news, the Broncos have traded Tim Tebow to the jets after landing the G.O.A.T.

Be interested to see what happens there. As soon as Sanchez throws a couple of misplaced passes, Jets fans will be clamoring for Tebow who will probably then get crucified (bad choice of word!) himself.

Surprised no-one has suggested that God (clearly a Cowboys fan) sent Hurricane Katrina as a punishment.

Oh wait, I just did.

Draft this weekend. Looks like Whitney Mercilus will go before the Patriots can get their hands on him. They'll have to make do with a boring name like Andre Branch or Shea McClellin.

My predictions:
Robert Griffin III (Washington, 2nd pick) turns out to be a better NFL QB than Luck.
St Louis (6) and Miami (8) take skill players and seriously regret it.
The first tight end off the board (Coby Fleener) is a bust.

Hopefully we trade down from #3 to around #4 or #5 and still draft Kalil plus extra draft picks.

Why would anyone trade up to #3 unless they want Kalil? If they want the top RB, WR or CB they'll be negotiating with Cleveland at #4.

No way Kalil drops to the Rams at #6. They could go for Trent Richardson (RB) if Cleveland haven't grabbed him, but I think they'll take a defensive player.

Disclaimer - I know nothing about college football, I just read lots of mock drafts.

NFL 2011

Stock of Tannehill and Richardson is rising hugely and rumours of teams trading up to #3 just to make sure they can get them, thats why lol. I doubt it'll happen but there is a lot of buzz about it. If we don't pick Kalil, I'll be fuming.

Egg on my face, Chris got it spot on.
Cleveland traded up from 4th to 3rd, giving up three later picks, but both teams took the player they would have taken anyway: Richardson and Kalil.
WTF? Cleveland must have really wanted Trent Richardson. I guess they were pre-empting other teams from trading up for him. Nice deal for Minnesota.

NFL 2011

Shock horror! New England trade up! Not once but twice in the first round, both picks to improve their pass defence. And they've still got 2 second round picks.

Makes sense to cash in on those stockpiled picks now, with only a couple of years left in the Brady era.

Hightower looks a good player as does Jones. Great forward thinking from NE. Just look at the Colts now. Yes they have Luck but their O line is pretty average. The AFC north looks quite tight now, the Browns and the Bengals have drafted well in the first round. Interesting to see who the Ravens will go for. Upshaw is an option or they may go for another WR in Hill or Randle

They were saying on R5 last night that in the short term RG III may have better production than Luck purely and simply because Washington are a more cohesive unit. Indy are a mess and rebuilding and for this season may just see progression in Luck week to week as an attainable target

Griffin is also the much better athlete. Just looked on his wiki and the guy has run the 110 hurdles in 13.46 :shocked.

As a Skins fan I'm delighted to see him arrive in DC! Just hope the Shanahans design a scheme that accounts for and takes advantage of his strengths, rather than try and mould him into their type of QB. Also wonder if our WRs are strong enough...

NFL 2011

I think my Vikings had an amazing first day, Picking up Kalil and Smith fills major needs and both players have big upsides. I think Seattle probably took the worst reach in draft history and I mean that. Bruce Irvin can only do one thing on the field whilst also having a criminal record. Thats the sort of guy you take in the 4th or 5th round, not the 1st!.

I think the Steelers taking DeCastro got a huge steal as well. Pats as always drafted well.

My top 5 Big board as of now is:
1 - Andrew Luck
2 - RG3
3 - Trent Richardson
4 - Luke Kuechly
5 - Matt Kalil.

It scares me reading this thread thinking about the NFL Fantasy league, when I realise how much you guys know. Can someone enlighten me to Broncos picks and views on them.

NFL 2011

That's easy, they didn't get a pick. They traded their pick down twice, from 25 to 31, then to 36, picking up an extra 4th round pick on the way. So they've got one of the earlier picks in round 2 tonight, and some experts reckon they'll take a quarterback.

NFL 2011

Don't know about the Broncos but check out the past of the Seattle pick:eek:

Have to say I am pretty happy with what JJ did

NFL 2011

Think the Broncos made a mistake trading out of the first round. YES, they picked up some extra picks but they've also missed out on some good players.

No place on the the list LB Caleb McSurdy then?

It was a close call, but I elected to include Jason Slowey twice instead. :grey:

The field has been widened now, with the undrafted players getting signed:

Austin Wuebbels
Eddie Pleasant

I've seen a couple of sources (Huffington Post, Sporting News, also just seen it on CNN) reporting that former Chargers & Patriots LB Junior Seau has killed himself at the age of 43 :(

Very sad news indeed. :( May he rest in peace.
