...they were already 14 points up. The studio guys throught it was a "selfless act". Personally it looked a f**ing idiotic thing for the sport. There was only about 40 seconds left anyway. Could understand it if they were 7 or 10 up...but they would have been 21 points up :scratch:

I' have been a tad annoyed if I'd been on the TD shirts. He was no 86.

He's actually #87 so one more point ;) His reasoning was...Lions would have had to kick off so what was the point of putting anyone at risk in those conditions when by sliding, the game was over. Also, he claimed he was going to slide regardless as it meant he could roll around in the snow to celebrate with his mates. Big kid

So, Brentford are 4-0 up. Get a penalty in the last minute and kick it out to the corner flag to "eat up time"... You'd think that was pretty pathetic and if the bloke wanted to roll around in the snow he could have done so after the game. It was absurd.

But in fairness, I don't think Brentford would be playing in those conditions so the injury standpoint is fairly valid. Interestingly in that game, only on one occassion did either team go for the easy PAT and they messed that up, preferring to go for the 2pt Conversion, as the conditions were particularly bad if you're a kicker

Now... Brentford get a penalty and kick it out to the corner flag... hmmm.. I think I saw Clayton do that. Weren't 4-0 up in the last minute either

Why did no TD celebrations involve building a snowman in the Endzone ? With the amount of snow, they may not even have got a Time Delay penalty but then I suppose it would have fallen foul of the excessive celebration rule.

The Eagles had already tried to make a version of the abominable snowman when Megatron was face planted in the snow early in the game

Would the snow have constituted a prop? If so, 15 yard penalty on the kick off as props aren't allowed in celebrations.

Did Jimmy Graham get flagged the other week when he bent the cross bar slam dunking the ball

He only had 10 yards to run "unchallenged" without a player in sight. He seemed so pleased with himself that's what seemed absurd. Surely everyone wants to score TD's :shrug:

There is also a "gentlemans agreement" that you don't run up the score on your opponent when the game is clearly won.

I'm sure if there was a bonus involved then he may have found the need to run it home. However, it's not those 10 yds that may have risked injury, it's the ensuing kick off and melee. As it is, they get their first down with the run and then the QB takes a kneel and it's game over. Points difference is so low down the regulations to decide who wins/qualifies that there's no need for them to worry about the size of victory

Firstly the CJ incident was quite amusing. As I've heard, he was auditioning for a part as Father Christmas as he did have quite a full snow white beard

15yds for building a snowman eh (and i'm fairly certain they would have got the penalty).. Same as an illegal hit to the head. And we think some of our penalties are tough

Lions would be my favourites there although with all those teams involved, who knows.

On the assumption the Cowboys and eagles match results in the next two weeks they go head to head in the last slate of matches with the division on the line

Big assumption as the Cowboys are now in their favourite (not) month and last night the offence put 28 point on the board, ran for nearly 200 yards at 7.2 per carry didn't turn the ball over and got no help at all from the D

Eagles @ Vikings (last seconds win for Eagles) v Bears (could be tight, in previous years when Bears had a D but got to fancy Eagles)

Cowboys v Packers (fancy Cowboys unless Rodgers is back then uh oh) @ Redskins (who doesn't beat the Redskins)

and then it's Eagles @ Cowboys.... hmmm

Of course, we're talking NFC East here so it's a complete lottery anyhow rofl

'Awesome' result for the Chargers tonight as Broncos are trying their best to lose the #1 seed but could that result lead to the AFC West providing both wildcard teams. Fins have a nice run in after the Pats game and Ravens not as nice. Could all come down to tie-breaks in the AFC so not sure who that favours

It is. I gave up when it went to 29-17 as the omens did not look good.

On the play calling late in the game, by the interviews with Garrett and Romo, Romo had a Trotta moment. The play called in was a run/pass option play and Romo decided that the pass was the better option despite the fact that a run would have either

a) got the 6 yards required, forced GB to use their last Time out and virtually iced the game
b) nearly got the six yards but GB would have still had to use their time out and it would have been third down.
c) even the sack might not have been a bad option

Even if the ball had been punted they couldn't use Lacy the way they had as they were out of time outs

Having said that when you have as much success as they did on the run in the first half and then run it a total of seven times in the second that is on the coaching staff.

Be interesting to see if there is any club sanction on Bryant for his actions prior to the end of the game

that was incredible, Id bet over 46.5 points in the Ravens game. There were only 20 points going into the third quarter and then boom 28 points in the last quarter including two touchdowns in the last two minutes as the Ravens fell apart. Final score 41-7. Happy Christmas!

I checked at one point and the odds had got down to 1/100 on betfair!

The Bears looked completely incapable of defending the run last night although it was definitely not their night. When the ball gets blown off the kicking tee when you are considering going for a surprise onside kick (albeit one which wouldn't be that surprising) you know it isn't your night.

My name might be misleading (as I live in sf now) but I grew up in the Midwest and heading up to Green Bay to cheer on the pack on Sunday with a high of 4 degrees (Fahrenheit) and a low of -18. Great football weather, go pack go!
