... and Chris Mepham did the same for Wales U-21 in Switzerland. Add in an England U-21 at left back and an Irish call up for Egan and we have an international defence! Yohann – tirez votre doigt!

"tirez votre doigt"?? Loving the franglais, jlove! ;)

Now the dust is settling I just wanted to say the clear analysis of the transfer window that the DOFs gave was superb;
We signed high quality players with massive potential early in the window to minimise costs
We tried to keep players with a year to go on their contract but they were determined to go
We therefore waited until late in the window to rack up the prices for outgoing players
No one we wanted to keep was sold
The club clearly saw the lesson from Alfie Mawson and ensure direct paths to the first team now exist
There is obviously a desire and plan to prove the move to an under 21 set up produces results that we can utilise

That has made me so proud to be a Bee and still pinching myself that my club are so well run.
Lucky us You Beeeeeeees!!

Nobody has gone who wasn't expected to.

The one I was surprised about was Colin, but I suppose the signing of Dalsgaard should have put the writing on the wall for me.

Dalsgaard and Bjelland who we will be heavily reliant on this season managed to keep one of the worlds most potent strikers at bay last night in a 4.0 win for their country.

We also know most of our players are better than the whole England squad :sorted:

I was thinking something similar myself, that three Brentford defenders managed to keep two clean sheets.

I don't know the French equivalent and gave up with the grammar but I guess he'll know what I mean!

Very clever tactics by the club boosting shirt printing income by getting rid of players with only 4 or 5 letters in their name. Josefzoon ( is z a triple letter score? ) , Watkins, Dalsgaard and Moketjo will make us much more money.

Woodsy , Henry and Egan watch your backs.

At least 'Arry improved our financial position before he got the boot.

That Reading strike hit the top rather than the bottom of the crossbar at the end.

We are much better than Villa, Reading, Bristol, Ipswich and Notts Forest.

Brum Scum sack Arry Redknapp not technically anything to do with us and not even positive but still bloody hilarious ?

For 75% of the game we outplayed a team that last season missed out on promotion to the Prem only on penalties!

We are playing the best football I have ever seen at GP and we outplay bigger teams than us on a regular basis.

Some of the early pacesetters have faulted of late. No shots on target for Leeds v Millwall and Cardiff having a dip.

However our general play hasn't dipped. It's just the finishing that need to be a bit more polished.

It will come when Canos, Vibe, Judge and McCleod rejoin the squad.

Maupay shouting a very loud quick and polite "oh dear!" when chesting a ball down only for it to not find its intended target and roll out of play. Was amusing and actually quite endearing. He's clearly never played Sunday league. (Good game he had too).

Matthew Benham is still our owner and has a long-term plan which will eventually come to fruition.

Magic I really can't decide whether you are an internet troll or that you actually believe some of the things you say!!!

On various threads you have complained about the transfer activity this summer, the lack of loan players and the style of football which suggests that you really fail to understand what the club is doing.

Firstly Summer transfers we brought Watkins an up and coming talent, Maupay who was attracting interest from far richer clubs and by the end of next season you will be complaining that he has been sold.!!! The General who is gradually getting to grips with the division and who had a very good first half yesterday plus an International right back who is not afraid of s tackle and a menace going forward. In my book all are successful signings.

On the out side we let 3 go at the end of the window generating the maximum income we could hope for. 2 were in the last year of their contract and one had a release clause. Now I don't know whether you appreciate the financial position but Jota declined an offer of £25k per week from Fulham because he could get more at Brum. Quite what would you have wanted the club to do???

Loans/ out of contract players: you have mentioned getting in players who are out of contract, well guess what in the main they are out of contract because they are not good enough!!! Loans of course can only be arranged in the transfer window and have to be for at least half a season. A decent young prospect costs serious money. When Cardiff sold our ex keeper to Sheffield they spent £2m on a prem loanee st £65k pw.

These loan players come at a premium and have to be guaranteed a number of starts. Now MB may have made his dosh out of gambling but the gamble of getting a 18 year old at a cost of £1m plus together with a significant part of his wages ( would make them probably the highest earner) and then be stuck with having to play them even if they don't perform strikes me as a gamble not worth taking!!

Our style of football To quote you "I don't like the tippy tappy football we now play" presumably you would like to see the ball lumped forward to a Gary Alexander type player with little finesse. Unfortunately for you we played that style without success for many years and have now moved to a style that pretty much everyone thinks is the best they can remember.

Now your posts may be wind ups without a fishing smiley in which case well done as I have bitten!! If not then whilst very pleasant they are some of the biggest uninformed posts on here and, for such a long standing supporter shows a level of naivety that is bordering on criminal!!!!

I apologise if this causes offence but to find you repeating your various moans on so many different threads is really doing my head in ???

Mods this is probably in the wrong place but was following the last post from Magic

Im not a troll and I love the club and have been going for 48 years and when we lose it hurts just as much as you. I dont think things are not as perfect as you say at the moment, I believe we will stay up but it will be close. You say I dont like the style, I love the style when we have the players to play it. I dont think the squad is as good as you think it is, thats just my view and have nothing against you and your views and many on here. But I hate be singled out because I dont agree with your views and most of the mods views. Everything I say on here I would say to your face. Im not a fan of Dofs and I do believe we have slowly got worse over the last three years. I believe they have done excellent getting 11 million plus for those three players and that is where I think they are really good. But I admit I go on to much about them and a lack of a older Striker. Not all loans cost millions of pounds, I certainly dont agree with that, but I do feel with the injuries we have a couple may of helped in recent weeks and they dont have to be from the Ptemiership. I have breaks where I leave the site alone, this seems a perfect time for this. Ive had enough of the stick I get on here by the keyboard warriors for now, most of which I deserve. Apologies to you.

Fair dos for responding. Hopefully we will have the same discussion when wandering around the lower reaches of the premier league!!!!
