No offence, but this particular thread is in the ‘General Bees Discussion’ category. There is no demarcation mentioned about men’s or women’s topics in the main category, hence my post.

Although I am aware that there is a separate Women’s team category, too, where the same info was posted earlier.

After watching this afternoon’s defeat, I believe a little distraction might be in order to show that not everything discussed today about the club and its players should be doom and gloom. And it was a positive start to the Women’s team’s season.

Keep the faith!
Sorry to offend, but women’s football is on my ignore list, with hardly any interest from me. There result does not brighten my day.

Villa have big problems and their manager was rattled in interviews after the Newcastle game. They'll be without Konsa and have weaknesses at the back. Chelsea? Couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo yesterday. And as for Sunderland? They've had their day in the sun. Did you hear their supporters banging on about the "easy" games they have coming up? Can't wait for us to dish out a large dose of EPL reality up there.

We did better than some other teams, and particularly one of them.

We lost away but scored.

Man Utd lost at home, didn’t score, and have spent probably at least 4 times as much as us in the current transfer market.

Plus, we could be above them in the league table after the next game!

We're going down.................................. to Bournemouth next week. Can't wait!

Hopefully I wont be standing infront of the same knobheads who were behind me yesterday, whinging about the team, lack of signings and Andrews before kick-off / that early goal and abused some of the players throughout the game, however justified they may think they were given the poor showing that followed.

It's always a stark reminder that, even in a fanbase as good as ours, there are some real moany c**ts who must lead rather depressing lives to want to bitch all the time about things they can't control and still don't have faith in the people at the top to do the right thing for the club or take decisive action when need be... just ask Dijkhuizen - not that I'm wishing that on KA, I'd love to see him get a response out of the players on Saturday.

Looking at bbc comments from forest fans, some seem to think they are now akin to 1970 Brazil - unaware that they won’t have an easier first 45 minutes this season. Setting them up nicely to let them down.

if we had made it to half time 1-0 , instead of giving away two stupid goals just before 45 m we'd have drawn or possibly won

I think they look a good side and seem to be varying their style on last season with more pressing. On that evidence and with the three new signings I think they will finish at least top 7 comfortably.

I agree - but they are not as good as we made them look, same way we aren’t as bad either.

IF is the most useless word in the English language.
"If" is anything but that. It's the title of Kiplings poem that is inscribed above the entrance to the centre court at Wimbledon.
Our lot should perhaps have read it on the way out on Sunday !

Just noticed the XG was 1.86 Forest vs 1.50 Brentford. Let's round it to 2-2 draw against a good and settled side when we were understrength and are rebuilding...
(Not sure XG is a good metric, I know!)

I'm over this now. I am confident that we will improve and put this really, really tough close season behind us. It might take a little longer but our best xi players can be a very good side and those players outside of it can be adequate substitutes if not all asked to play together at once.

Our starting 11 is far stronger than both playing this evening ??

Still feeling super positive, our squad has depth one bad performance doesn't turn some of them into bad players.

KA will find his feet we'll win the League Cup and finish 12th with a couple looks over our shoulder but all will be well.

An analogy
You try soldering a joint in copper pipe for the first time without sufficient time for study and practice. Through luck and a fair wind it doesn't seem to leak, so you carry on with more joints. But what you don't know is that your joints are inherently weak and will fail later in many places with varying pressure, movement and heat.
It would have been better if your first attempt had failed and you had studied deeper at an early stage just what was wrong. There's more to learn from mistakes than apparent successes on an insecure footing.

So, for me, Notts Forest, annoying, yes, on the day, but a good learning experience to be taken from our first attempt.
And I'm confident we will learn and have a comfortable season.

Bee's that good getting thumped at Forest. Nuno's facing the sack.

Mr Andrews has started better than Mr Frank did.

The game merits a 'Champagne Moments' thread.

2 wins in a row.
Won in the ‘rowing club’ shirt…
Loving that blue shirt. The away strip from 2015/16 was also great imho (and 2010/11 bathwise)

Sharing the train back from Newcastle with the Aldershot squad, some of whom are in my (second class) carriage. They've just played Gateshead.

That could easily have been us in only a very slightly different universe.

Looking at some of the strikers in the premier league, should be sniffed at!
