We go into Christmas safely mid table, closer to Europe than relegation after a massive upheaval in the Summer. We lost goals, our skipper and an experienced keeper

With such changes it will, as a matter of course, take time for players to understand their roles, their expectations of their team mates and for the Manager to try and find a system where everything clicks

I have read with despair some of the comments over the past few weeks and whilst I fully understand people are not feeling entertained I would suggest this season, like our first in this league is all about points and ensuring our survival whilst we build Brentford mark 2

Looking at the league I would suggest a number of clubs have far bigger problems than us and we should approach the second half of the season in good heart

Knowing that KLP scored the goals that kept us up this season

Keith will be having a much happier Christmas than Thomas and has earned himself a nice long nap in front of the fire with a glass of port after his dinner while Thomas is going to have his family tell him he can’t have another glass of red unless he puts his tactics board away.

What’s Irish for Hygge?

According to the BBC: “the most points a relegated side has been above the bottom three at Christmas is seven by Reading in 2007-08, who were 12th with 21 points.”

We are 10 points above the bottom 3.

In other words records will have to be broken for us to end up relegated.

In other words it ain’t happening.

We are also much, much better than that Reading side, they had Stephen Hunt on the wing and Dave Kitson up front all season

Brentford are 10 and 12 points clear of West Ham and Burnley respectively.
Both West Ham and Burnley have only managed 3 premier league wins each
so far.
Almost half way into the league season, chasing points to avoid relegation usually results in more losses.

This season is potentially turning into one of massive opportunity.

The table is wide open and there is no reason why we cant push the sides in the top 7-8.

So many teams in the top half keep dropping points.

Spurs game IMO is quite big. A win would be huge.

I never thought i would be typing that back after the Fulham away game.

We now have a 10.02% chance of making the UCL or UEL, and a 0.11% chance of relegation.

I think that’s the highest UCL or UEL chance we’ve been all season (and Conference League chances not even calculated at this stage)

A group of us Bees fans met in the Kings Arms TW8 earlier this season. (August)
We all predicted the Bees league finish position, the highest being 8th with no one predicting relegation!
The league season has already thrown up some interesting results.
Everyone is hoping for the Bees to continue proving the TV pundits wrong (again) in 2026, starting tomorrow!
An early Happy New Year to all!

After all the negativity (again......) around last night's result/performance, although I wasn't at the recent away game v Spurs, from what I read/heard, they (TF) did a number on us, which resulted in a very comprehensive victory, in which we barely competed.
That certainly wasn't the case last night, and surely gives a lot of encouragement that KA learnt from that, and very quickly adjusted how we played to make sure it didn't happen again?

Clean sheet and didn’t lose. As a rule we don’t do nil - nils, and I’m struggling to remember the last time. The pessimistic me dreaded the extra 5 minutes, and one mistake or cock up, but we came through.
Unbeaten in 3, and still looking upwards…

3 times last season:
Everton (A)
Brighton (A)
Chelsea (H)

FYI I believe the last time Spurs dew 0-0 in PL was against us in Apr 2022

I was just chatting to a fellow Bee on the bus.
Brentford are 9th in the premier league.
Many (like me) have experienced darker days, in my case since 1963.
Now the football club is at the 'top' table in the English football pyramid.
Great times.

Interesting league table in an article about Amorim’s tenure. Compare Bees with Man Utd and Spurs… :bounce:

Anyone else finding it hard to concentrate on work this morning?

We have zero chance of relegation (not that I was ever worried), and a good chance of Europe.

These are days to relish. Take nothing for granted, and remember where we've come from, but make sure to thoroughly enjoy this golden time.

Indeed.
This management team and playing squad have already proved so many 'so called' pundits so wrong this season.
Continue the good work lads!
Fear no one, keep going and bring so much enjoyment to all us supporters.

Order is restored.
Top team in West London!
-I suspect top London team might be a stretch…

Highest post-Christmas league position since 1936 (I think 🤞)

Best tin-pot club in the land (I always think of Villa as tin-pot but the did win something in 1893)

More a comment of disbelief than positivity..

Tonight, when Arsenal play Liverpool, we will be hoping for an Arsenal to win to increase our (Brentford!) chances of CHAMPIONS LEAGUE next season????

How the f*** are we going to catch them if they keep winning?

Likewise for about the same amount of years.

In many ways I think that the longer anyone has supported the Bees, post WW2, the more appreciative you are of the sheer wonder of what we have now.
If you have only started your support since us getting into the PL, you can enjoy the matches.

However, you will never appreciate the full extent and contrast of our history, from watching us play some team, that may now be in the National League, on a bitterly cold winter’s night at GP in Division 4, with just a few ultimate hard bitten fans.

So when you have seen the wide gap between that and now, you would never ever complain about now.

Last night was a fine example of the club we have progressively become - wonderful attacking and well organised football in a ground with atmosphere, just like the very best floodlit nights at GPG, except we are 5th in the best league in the world.

Am I dreaming?!

When I was a lot younger I was mocked by so many school friends for my ‘never-give-up’ Bees support.
Now we sit above all those clubs that they supported, including the Man Utd brigade.

I can now point this out to some long time friends, whenever I see them, or simply email them about it - probably just 5 or 6 times a day!!!!

My first game as a young boy, dragged along by my dad, very early 70's. Playing against I think was Workington FC, wondering if i'd ever see Brentford in the top league. Strangely enough I think Brentford won the game, and while there were more glamourous teams in London not in the basement division, I began, for some reason or other, falling in love with little old Brentford and their big but rikkety old stadium. I'm pleased to report my love has never waned and here we are in the promised land. WOW, just f*cking WOW.
