Where I was sat on Saturday, why did the fans not join in the singing? Didn't even want to stand up "if you love Brentford". What was the point in coming to the game? I'd love to know from someone who went to the game and did not participate in the singing.
If you don't support the team vocally, then on Saturday, couldn't you have given your ticket to someone who would have made lots of noise and gone to the beamback instead?
I just don't get why it's so important to be at games like these, if you don't get behind your team? I'd honestly like to know, so we can generate some debate.

Passionate about the club sing and clap with the best of them but end up threatened and insulted by drunken bees fans too p***ed to know what they were doing. My requests to stop falling on me and screaming at the Soton fans rather than concentrating on the game totally ignored and at half time 'offered out' very aggressively by a guy 25 years my junior and three times my size.with his 3 mates who accused me of being a part-time supporter/glory hunter. My wife and I had to be re-seated or were obliged to leave the ground.
I do not feel the need to offer my credentials as a supporter to anybody but for the record 40 plus yrs support home and way, regulars most of that time and a member of the Real Brentford team recently I do not need lessons in support from youngsters who cannot hold their drink. As stated elsewhere even the police were amazed and offered to chuck the guys out which we declined.
This kind of judgemental post just encourages such anti-social behaviour.

While I'm not happy about part-timers who couldn't find Griffin Park getting tickets for the game, I'm largely with Banbury Bee on this one. As a general rule, younger fans will be more vociferous, but that doesn't mean some of us whose chanting is more sporadic aren't regular supporters, and I'd rather watch the game than face the opposing supporters winding them up.

I'm not sure if it was the incident to which Banbury refers, but I was a bit surprised/concerned to see the stewards have to step in to separate Bees fans from one another mid-way through the first half.

I had the same when I lept up and shouted " You got him Sam" after Sam had just out jumped Crouch in the first few minutes. To me that was importany i.e. Letting PC he was not going to have an easy day. Anyway I told the guy what I thought but at the end he apologised and started to cuddle me.
There were too many wifes, kids and hangers on who blew up balloons and then didn't know what to do for the next 90 mins.

Me, I loved it just wish the sitting on hand lot could have been there as we made some noise even without them!

I'm more than happy to join in with any songs..................but not that one.

Its always the same when you get a much larger travelling support than usual. The "best" singers aren't together so it can appear as though not everyone is in unison. I'm sure its the same anywhere . From where I was sitting we didn't seem to be doing too badly on the vocal front.

Can also relate to banbury bees experiences.

Group of around 8 blokes in the row behind me arrived at 2.59pm having obviously just rolled out of the pub and one of them spent the rest of the game showering everyone with spit every time he joined in a song. Lovely.

Perhaps we are just realising some of the joys (and problems) of supporting a successful team. Wouldn't trade it in for anything right now though.

Maybe I was just lucky but I thought it was the best atmosphere at an away game for years, especially at a big venue. Was worried that the singers would be spread out, but where I was - right next to Soton fans in the corner with the main stand and quite high up - plenty of people were singing. No doubt helped by the presence of some of the GPG's most vocal fans a few rows back.

No near the front in the Northam on the right facing the pitch but still quite a long way from the Soton fans. As usual and as at other games too much drink matched to not a lot of bravery means bawling abuse at the opposition fans from miles away and gesticulating for 90 minutes rather than watching the game. In my opinion these sorts of fans are on a par with the brain dead day trippers - you just don't need them.
One word for the female stewards they were fantastic - found us 2 seats near the front , God knows why they were empty but I and my upset wife were very grateful

I agree about the tourists who were in evidence on Saturday and clearly didn't know if they were at a football game or a cocktail party. And it was interesting to be in the home end on Saturday and see how quickly the Saints "supporters" turned on their own players. And don't tell me that doesn't happen at GP because I've seen it. To me loyalty and REAL support, through the bad times as well as the good, is far more valuable than any number of out-of-tune songs.

Yeah agree with that,sometimes I'm very vocal at players,opposition players who are being idiots,referee,but sometimes I'm just happy to sit and listen to my radio and watch the game unravel before me without my assistance.Fans have a right to watch the game however they want,as long as they are not creating a problem to other fans.Admittedly it would be nice to see/hear a few more vocal newcomers,but the more people we get,the bigger the noise hopefully

Watching and listening from the main stand, you guys made loads of noise. What I didn't like was after SFC got there 2nd goal, about 20 people in the away section walked out! This was all the encouragement the Saints fans around me needed to give it the cheerio song. And as for being moaned at for standing up and celebrating, I got a bucket load of that at Luton.

I'm not a big time singer although I love to give the ref and any cheating opposition players plenty of stick. Having said that special occassions and outstanding performances brings out the youngster in me and I sing my head off. Same thing last weekend - with so many non-regulars at the game I thought it important to add my voice to our support for the mighty Bees.

As for those drunken bums that abused Banburybee and are constantly back and forth to the bog during the game please pizz off and support another club. We don't want you.
