He's held in only a slightly higher regard than Oli Skulason, Callum Willock, Griffiths, Tillen, Brooker etc in my books after some his effort this season.

Not even in my book. He's in the Skulason, Griffiths, Brooker bracket IMO. People don't like Brooker as he only shines a few times a season. Pinault is exactly the same as Brooker. He was on the bench when we were losing so why wasn't he trying to force some of the dross out of the side? The attitude stinks and the sooner we're shot of him the better.

I can assure you, he wanted to play....I an not sure where you get this "attitude" from....Maybe if he wasnt on the bench, we wouldnt have been losing,,,,

I think he would work well alongside a Hutch type player that did all the dirty work.

To be fair he has played alongside a 'Hutch type player', one who runs around like a headless chicken and on the rare occasion he wins the ball and manages to control it, boots it out for a throw.. It hasnt really helped him to be honest..

I had high hopes for Pinault early on but he's not really lived up to his early promise. Whether that's because of the 'winter weather and muddy pitches' as some would like to suggest or having to play under two of the worst managers in the history of Brentford Football Club who had no real idea of how to set up a football team or just that really, he's not quite good enough we shall never know. Personally, I suspect it's a combination of the last two and I wont be too disappointed to see the back of him, though it would have been nice to have seen a bit more of him in the side over the last few months, can't have been any worse than the dire Mousinho/Leary combination..

What does p!ss me off is this idea that we can't possibly play a passing midfielder and that we should stick with the likes of Mousinho/Hutch etc, when IMHO one of the major reasons we've got nowhere over the last few years has been the appalling state of our central midfield. There's an awful lot of cr@p spouted on this site about players being 'worthy of the shirt' but as far as I'm concerned if a player can't manage a 5 yard pass to another player in the same shirt then they're not worthy of anything whether they 'give 100%' or not....

agree entirely. the best brentford team over recent years featured midfielders that could pass a ball and create a goal - evans, mahon, sidwell, hunt, boomartinrowlandsscumscumscum.

fortunately most of the above were commited and ran about a bit so they were popular in all quarters

we didnt go up last season under MA because we were too functional - there was little creativity, flair or passing ability in the team but people stood roughly in the correct position. as such we let in late goals against teams we should have buried. we also didnt score enough goals generally - the strikers got most of the blame but actually the problem was deeper than this.

The teams who keep beating us to automatic promotion usually play passing football in midfield and have a Pinualt like figure in their team.

After playing them we all wish we had a player who could do that for us and run the midfield, then when we have one like Mahon or Pinault everyone doesn't rate them.

'We' prefer a player in the Hunt\Ide mould who runs non stop, is busy but struggles to play simple 5 yard passes and always opts to shoot in a promising position or take on one more player rather then pass or cross.
