I know people have got to get their shock, anger, disappointment, etc. out of their systems, and other forums will be full of that for a few days, but there IS one huge difference to previous disappointments... In previous years we've had to suffer and dwell on things for a whole miserable summer, this year we get to put it right next Saturday. We're Bees and we're going up

Tranmere finished 11th... having been top for most of the season.

Could be worse.

Donny supporter here, I also believe you will be coming up with us. Just in a different way that's all, see you in the Championship next season.. These aren't kind words just an appraisal of what should happen very shortly ; just bear with it that's all.

After shock comes anger. Hope Uwe and the management can channel that anger into stuffing our play off opponents rather than dwelling on who should or shouldn't have taken the penalty.

Be afraid, Swindon.

Difference between this heroic failure (@bfc) and the Reading one 11 years ago is that this time we know we're still a club being run the right way and going in the right direction. The defeat against Reading was pretty catastrophic due to the overall state of the club at the time. It doesn't apply now .. this is just a temporary setback. It's been a great season whatever happens by the end of may and next season will be as good if not better.

Cheers Wellington. I don't think that many of us seriously believe that - the play offs are about momentum rather than quality, and in any case our record in them is catastrophic so it gives us no cause for hope. But congratulations to Doncaster. You came to do a job today and did it very effectively. Overall, given what was at stake I thought the two sets of fans were a credit to their respective clubs.

I think I'm right in saying that all the play off income is pooled amongst the four clubs.

Ok ta! But the other 3 will only be able to use their cash to strengthen their League One squads.......

Well have been to all our finals and big games and suffered the same pain as do many other Brentford fans, think its something in our DNA

Will enjoy the games against Swindon and then comes the final where, due to work commitments that can't be changed I will be working so perhaps my absence will be the turning point in the clubs fortunes!!!

Look on the bright side all the regulars and committed fans can sit in their favourite seats next season!

I can say I was there for the most incredible 20 seconds in football league history...

I think that counts as a positive post, plus we'll get lots more money from going up via the play offs & a trophy !!!

I was impressed with Uwe's interview after the game on TFLS. I like him.

Will the playoffs generate enough income to sign Trotta permanently???? Sorry, I know, still not time for such jesting!!!!

Good call! more exposure for BFC to help eliminate confusion with Brentwood Town with all the "neutrals"

^BUMP^

1. It's not like losing under Coppell and Allen. Our manager will stay. The core of our squad will stay. Benham will stay. Warburton will stay. In the long term, the Doncaster game will be an interesting side story in our overall journey.

2. In most situations after a game like the Doncaster one, we would need a minimum of a full season to get promoted and exorcise the hurt. We currently have the opportunity to put it right in 3 games.

COME ON BEES!

Tony Craig will be playing for our opening game of next season.

Subject to:
  • S'ralex not making an offer for him to replace Rio;
  • Tony remaining uninjured;
  • Tony not re-enacting for real by decking Kitson at Wembley.

I finally made it - I live on the Isle of Wight. An ambition of ours for fifteen years. Even if everything we own in the whole world except this laptop is stuck in a broken down removal van in Basingstoke and I have to type this standing up. :banghead:

I'm still pissed off, but I'm now ready to go.

Bring on Swindon and then Wembley here we come.

Loads of people talking about Brentford today. Had so many well wishers at work etc. Perhaps our increased profile will result in a few more on the gate for next season

I won't spend the next 3 months wondering how the hell are we going to stay in the Championship

Congratulations! I'm very pleased for you. I hope that everything is beginning to come together after the last few weeks.

Totally agree the number of people who have said to me that it was 20 spellbinding seconds, even my wife who just about knows the goal net turned on Sky sports to find out my mood and got wound up watching it (although she wants to know why they were going on about Penguins -anybody) and everbody has said how sorry they felt for us (apart from a hoops fan- who sniffed)
What will be will be our luck in the play offs must change

I think we set a record this season for our fewest defeats in this Division (under its various names) since Division 3 stopped being regionalised (and possibly even since the war). Can anyone confirm?

Yes. Good geeking. :computer:

9 is the fewest....... For a div 3 season.

Only the 5th time we've had single figures for defeats.

2012/13 - 9 - League 1
2008/08 - 7 - League 2
1934/35 - 7 - Division 2
1932/33 - 6 - Division 3 (s)
1929/30 - 9 - Division 3 (s)
