The time has come to start saving our club from these mindless cretins, all of us have mobile phones capable of taking photographs, why don’t we start a rouges gallery and pass on all info to the club for them to then take action, or would that be “infringing their civil liberties”.
I think you are right on all accounts I would extend that to pubs to avoid before or after the game we all know where to go and not to if you want a row.I agree with Les. My ten year old regularly attends with me nowadays and I don't find the chavscum element a problem really. It's a fantastic lesson in life for my lad - "here is how NOT to behave".
However, I'm guessing that if you'd never been to GP before and chose to stand slap bang in the middle of the Ealing Road, you might make the (wrong) decision to not come back again. I say wrong because anyone with half a brain would realise that there are other parts of the ground that are, shall we say, a bit more sedate.
I suppose if you've followed Brentford for as long as me and my "lot" then you know who to avoid at away games too, and we always avoid the "knobheads" if possible.
If drastically increasing the levels of security in the Ealing Road stand will stop the knobheads attending and attract new support then go for it. However, I don't think it'll make a blind bit of difference.
You're right but we have acquired a following of horrible little chavs over the past couple of seasons Nick. I sit in the relative slumber of D Block so don't see any of it at home games but I've had to put up with some shocking little sods away from home.
At Norwich, a bloke sat in front of me and my dad with his two kids (14 & 15ish). The dad was off his face, and the three of them spent the entire game standing up gesturing to the home fans. I'd be amazed if they watched more than 15 minutes of the entire game. When I eventually got fed up of seeing nothing but their backs, I asked if they might like to sit down so the rest of us could watch the game. This was met with a volley of abuse from all three of them and the threat to "smash my f***ing face in"...
We all know what happened at Millwall and I was two rows in front of the little sh*t who threw the sign. Again, if he and his little group of chavs saw as much of the game as they did the Millwall fans I'd be astonished.
And again at Swindon. The top row of our fans were an absolute disgrace. Ten or so spent the entire game aiming the most disgusting abuse they could at the adjacent Swindon fans and barely spent a minute watching the game.
I love the atmosphere at football, especially the away games and many of the youngsters make that atmosphere what it is but there is an increasing element of nasty little oiks who have absolutely no interest in the football side of things and are there simply to abuse the away fans and look for a row after the games. If they were proper Bees fans, then they'd take notice when other Bees fans asked them to behave or tone it down rather than simply turning their abuse and violent threats on them instead.
I went to a lot of away games last season and the Carlisle and Hartlepool games were among them. Carlisle was a wonderful start to the season and i took a friend who fancied a day out. There was a chap amongst our 511 that day who was spitting pure venom and hatred (to quote someone above) the whole game and five minutes in we moved a few rows away to escape the earache and aggravation. This buffoon was so drunk he could barely stand. He didnt ruin my day but we moved because of him. At Hartlepool which was a friday night game there were eight to ten idiots sat directly behind the goal giving Flinders absolute dogs abuse re his wife etc etc. Classy stuff it was. They were getting very disapproving looks from all around but it didnt stop them. We would hardly have had floating fans traveling 265 miles to an away game so these people are amongst us. Fortunately they are a tiny minority but are present all the same.As Abee said earlier the days of shaking hands with opposition supporters and wishing them luck seem to be long gone. I feel that these scumbags follow every club. Its not just us.
I agree Nick but maybe it does come down to what people 'think' may happen. I'm guessing that's why my workmate asked me if GP was a safe place to take his son. If he'd seen what was happening on Saturady he may have come to the conclusion that it wasn't a good place to be with a 7 year old. I for one wouldnt condemn him for that.
fact is that the people who threw bottles will cost the club money in fines. realistically it's only a small group of about 20-30 people and i'm fairly certain the police know who most of them are.
There is a serious cancer developing in football in general and sadly now at Brentford which is the only club I care about and we now have an element who have latched onto the club and who I despise to my core. Their conduct is nothing to do with football but they use football as the excuse to roam the streets offering anyone out who looks at them sideways.
I just read the adjacent thread 'Who do the Bees hate then' with some despair. Why all the venomous hatred? I remember 1967 and will never forgive QPR till the day I die, and always smile when they lose, but I don't 'hate'. Sure, there are teams I want to see lose - I was well chuffed when Man City failed to get 4th spot despite their millions, and I shared in the pleasure when Gillingham got relegated, but I don't hate them. I would much rather share banter with opposition supporters. I was the lone Bee in a pub after the Oldham game (my last game, I can't go very often) and shared a thoroughly enjoyable pint with some of their supporters, arranging to go back next season. A happy evening.
But then I read this thread and realised that I can hate after all. But not opposition supporters, I hate Brentford 'supporters' who spoil it all for others, who bring our club into disrepute, and who are a downright embarrassment to us all. They will never put me off because I have red and white blood flowing through my veins, I am stuck with it for life, but how many less determined supporters are put off by their actions, how much revenue do we lose? Were I younger, fitter, and blessed with a lot more courage (not much danger there then), then I would gladly punch some of these urchins in the face and tell them to go away and not come back.
So to abee, I share all your frustration, and would support any draconian measure you care to try to get rid of this horrible minority. Sadly, in today's society, it may be extremely hard to achieve.
Have to say after reading this and the other thread regarding the Hartlepool goalies attack on the kids who came on the pitch I find it bizzare.
1 We have the official site saying thank you to the fans for keeping off the pitch
2. We have the FD of the club coming on here to explain the problems this and other incidents have not only upset him but the expected financial fallout from the FA re fines. If the club believe this is a major problem why don't we hear from our Chairman Dyke or the new CEO rather than letting a fan who gives his time up to sort out the clubs finances to vent the clubs frustrations.Whilst I don't go along with Abees views on the latest incidents l will never question his loyalty and his great work he does for our club (wish he had been FD back in the Piggot days)
3 Found it hard to believe that according to Abee the new CEO and the exCEO escorted the Hartlepool Goalie to the team coach after the game.Talk about getting a dog and barking yourself, surely someone must have known there would be a problem, dispite having god knows how many police and stewards we leave members of the staff to escort the person at the centre of the problems. The CEO would have been more effective if he had chosen to step in to stripes and adressed the apalling issue of trying to get drink at the bar.Now that is an issue.
4The club desperately needs an effective CEO to front the club at all levels
something we have not had since Keith Loring not everyones favourite at the time but he was good commercially and knew exactly what was going on with the fans by mixing with them and sorting out any fans who stepped over the line as many on here will remember.
Finally people on here who think the reason for falling attendances is down to these "new" hooligans they have god their heads and arses firmly in the sand.
Yeah its rough as **** in New Road.......![]()

So you are saying they should get behind the bar and start serving drinks? Because that is obviously far more important than the safety of the opposition players![]()

No didn't think the club frork out £60,000 a year for CEO to escort visiting players, when the the stadium is full of stewards and police, some on horses.but hey ho its Brentford. If you didn't know there is a major problem getting a drink in stripes which needs addressing before next season as many on here have mentioned, this is going to cause a loss of revenue next season for the club.
The scum at our club are growing in parallel with the decline of society.Well done lefty wets and wasnt human rights a great idea?Lets hope some more robust decisions are now made by the new government. In the mean time we are in control of our own club and need to take actions to rid us from these idiots
Not to single out you in particular, but this general sentiment really gets on my tits. People act as if before Labour and the Human Rights Act there was no violence at football; the whole bullshit about "declining society" is a load of old tosh, in my opinion. Consider the amount of racist abuse in football in the 70s and 80s. Consider the riots, strikes and hooliganism of the 70s and 80s. This isn't a problem with the "lefty wets"; if anything it's because of Thatcherism and the rise of individualism and "there's no such thing as society", and the pursuit of money and wealth as the driving factor and reward in society. And it isn't a decline that's started recently; it's barely a decline at all. It's a huge improvement over the state football was in 30 years ago.
That's not saying there is no problem now, there clearly is. But it needs to be kept in perspective and dealt with rationally without over the top rhetoric about "declining society". It's a minority element that has always existed...
I am not renewing my season tickets Braemer rd E block just above the paddock full of anti visiting fans, morons ,stewarded by 2 kindly elderly ladies who really frighten them, not.
My grand daughter has been coming with me for the past 7 years ,I have been a regular bees supporter for over 60 years.
The club obviously prefer these sort of supporters to the likes of my Grandaughter and me.
I don't think they do but this sort if thing has been going on for all my years at GP and there is little that the club can do about it. I sit in the paddock and have had enough of it so have moved, it would be a shame if you spoilt you and your Grandaughter's fun by not attending anymore. 60 years od support is too much to throw away because some idiots offer away fans out all game but that's your decision.
Nothing happens in the paddock apart from the odd burger hitting Stimson which AS thoroughly appreciated. Football is tribal and diverse, isnt diversity the in pc word, get used to it or take up bowls. The gossip amongst bowls players makes the paddock like a chapel on a friday afternoon

I very much doubt that. As the Police (and the club) would have by now dealt with the culprits (which up to last Saturday evening they obviously haven't done).
It makes me really sad to read posts like this, John, and I hope that you might reconsider and find a quieter part of the ground to relocate to.I am not renewing my season tickets Braemer rd E block just above the paddock full of anti visiting fans, morons ,stewarded by 2 kindly elderly ladies who really frighten them, not.

they do know who they are because they see them every week and keep a track of them (e.g. police van outside the lord nelson plus walk throughs when they were in there recently). it's just that they have to physically catch them committing an offence. etc
Not 100% sure who 'they' refers to in your post but I reckon BFC can ban anyone from GP if it wants to

Er, I think you can identify the time when football violence really kicked off as the mid-sixties when Mrs T had very little influence. I am struggling to remember the utopian society which apparently existed before she came to power. It must have been great.

I think anyone under 25 shouldn't be allowed in unless the're with their Mum or Dad, who must be wearing a long raincoat and a flat cap and carry a wooden rattle....and the only swearwords allowed are damm and blast.....then everyone will be happy![]()
