Refunds going out?

There is nothing wrong worth communicating the options open to them and us. I don’t think refunding people and deliberately lying about the method at the same time is particularly ethical.

I read the email as another potential inflexible quirk of our wonderful ticket system.

Refunds going out?

With regard to next season’s ST, I’ll be pleasantly surprised if I get to go to a game before Christmas. If that is the case then in my opinion, the logical step would be to defer the ST 20/21 to the 21/22 season. Then allow us to buy tickets for the seats we’ve already purchased on a game by game basis for the 2nd half of the 20/21 season. Because even if we’re allowed to games from January, there will still be people that won’t go due to their own safety concerns.

That’s a very good idea. Basically treat any remaining games as cup games and give ST holders first dibs at their seats.

Refunds on the 2019/20 games

The EFL have NOT decided on the Championship's position yet

So NO Refunds will be offered (YET)

There is still a very very small chance that the games will not take place for months

Unless we were thinking of putting the price up in the second season in the Premier League that sounds a great idea! If possible at ST level prices though.

I have to agree. I have only been able to attend a handful of games this season despite having a season ticket. I received payment for one ticket exchange into my bank account in March. I have today received four of these emails telling me repayment to my original card was not possible and the refunds have been credited to my personal account. The same debit card and bank account have remained active throughout. If they have decided to switch from cash refunds to effectively credit notes, why not just be up front about it?

Refunds going out?

I have just shy of £300 worth of St money, Fulham, Reading and a membership card with 2 games on it plus a Charlton ticket too.
And I owe just over £800 to the club.
I can't kiss the £300 goodbye tbh so I will have to get as much back as possible.
If BFC want to knock that money off the money I owe then that works for me.

Refunds going out?

I'm due over a £100 back from home games ...I don't see why it's taking so long to refund me or atleast make contact as it's been clear for ages the games aren't being played with spectators.

I owe the rest of my ST money on 31st May so would also be happy to have the amount knocked off what I owe

I'd assume as they owe us hundreds of pounds they would let me know !

If we are talking half a season, I'd have thought it is more likely that they will treat a payment for 20/21 as a season ticket for whatever is possible to attend in 20/21. The refund due would be (a) treated as part payment towards 21/22 (perhaps with inflation proofing as an incentive) or, (b) offered as a refund if that's your preference.

If we are talking say the last 4 games of next season I can see why it would be a bit odd to treat those as needing a season ticket but 10-12 games is quite a lot.

Who knows what the impact of safety concerns might be. If we're free to attend football in spring 2021 but some choose not to, who's to say 21/22 will be seen as any safer and maybe said person should be opting out of a season ticket. Surely no travel or ticket agency company is going to give refunds just because of your own concerns, once the government say it's safe to travel/attend.

Refunds going out?

Like many on here so far, I am relaxed about this season's remaining home games and wouldn't expect a refund as the club could hardly be blamed for not seeing this coming and, in any event, I have still made a considerable saving from having a season ticket. Less than happy about next season though and the thought of writing off any home game until the New Year. The club have continued to sell STs and collect money from those paying by instalments knowing what the situation was. I suppose it is unreasonable to expect any statement until we know what is actually going to happen. It is classic Brentford that our greatest triumph in winning the play offs against Fulham at Wembley will take place with none of us there.

Refunds going out?

Don't see that means anything...fans are not going to be allowed in either way so surely anyone who has a ticket will get a refund or have the option to obtain one ?

You might get the option to "cash in" the price of your ticket (or part of it) against the cost of watching the same game on TV........

Refunds going out?

Haven’t read through this thread past a couple of posts but I hope the club give ticket holders the option to decline a refund. As a ST holder I neither want or expect anything back. I’ve saved way more by not being in the pub after matches.

Refunds going out?

I don’t want or expect anything back from this season or the next.... the money’s already gone from my bank account as far as I’m concerned (I know it hasn’t physically, but I’ve accounted for it).

I DO want the Fulham and Reading monies back though. I’m not giving those clubs any of my money unnecessarily- especially the £35 fulham ticket.... robbing *****.

I expect though, that if the 19/20 games are played, the clubs will find some way of keeping the money to offset the cost of staging and televising all the games. Their lawyers have got much bigger brains than me.

Refunds going out?

Like everyone else, the matches I resold on the exchange have been credited to my ticketing account. I do not believe the club even tried to put money back on my credit card. Why is the communication so poor?

Yeah I would like the Reading and Fulham money back. Not bothered about the ST refunds. Any ideas if and when we'll be getting the Reading/Fulham refunds?

Refunds going out?

My mate from West Brom have been refunded today for their postponed match against us.

I do think they need to at least sort out the 2 away games.

Soon enough they will be inundated with sorting refunds for this season and next

They need to officially cancel the match first (or play it with no fans)

At the moment is still only postponed with a TBA

I'm not bothered about being paid back for matches lost against the current season tickets but I would like my overpriced Fulham ticket money back.

Given that there is no chance the Fulham and Reading matches will be played in front of fans,we should be getting a refund asap.

But will we get it paid in to our bank accounts or into our ticketing account? Apparently they had difficulty paying it to our bank accounts, can’t do fishing thingy .

The match was postponed. Like any other postponement in normal cicumstances you are entitled to a refund especially if you can't make the rearranged date. In this case it's pretty obvious we can't.

You don't know when it is yet. ;)

On this topic, I’m relaxed about about the money I’ve paid to BFC but some sort of indication as to when we might expect something back for the Fulham and Reading tickets would be welcome.

I like you am relaxed about the refund. However, there are probably a significant amount of fans whose financial situation has nosedived in the last couple of months and would prefer to have the money back in their account asap.

However, as I purchased tickets for Fulham in their home end I will be demanding it back !

Refunds going out?

....take it Fulham and Reading aren't putting a block on BFC refunding money....or is this solely about a possible pay to view scenario should season be played out....something doesn't seem right....far too quiet.

There's very limited staff at Brentford at the moment. That would be the issue IMHO.

Brentford won't have sent the money to Reading, Fulham maybe, as it was short notice and sold out well before.

Consider this, most if not all of the ticket office staff at Brentford are probably furloughed. (Why wouldn't they be, it's free money for the club for people who had no job because of the lockdown). Who would be there sorting your refunds or communicating this?

I appreciate all our situations are different but unless you purchased for quite a few people and did not claim this money back from them at the time then I assume we are speaking about relatively minor amounts of money here. If you're desperate, reach out to the club directly.

You will get your money back for the tickets you have bought for the fixtures that have been postponed and you cannot attend the rearranged fixture (for whatever reason or if it even happens) as per the usual terms and conditions.

It’s not free money and that’s a whole other debate. The money was initially intended for businesses who would otherwise been forced to make staff redundant - does that apply to BFC? I’m not sure.

In any case, what is lacking here is not any refund itself but any form of communication or acknowledgment from the club that people are currently owed modest sums and many are likely to be owed much larger sums.

Someone pressed a button (or it was scheduled to happen 2 weeks after the season was supposed to end) that generated refunds to those of us who used the exchange this season. The message says it couldn't be paid back onto the cards used for payment which isn't true (or explained) and it hasn't been used as credit for this seasons ST as previously advertised. We now have useless credit on our ticket accounts which some people might want as cash now.

I can understand not announcing anything else until we know what's happening with the season but this could do with a simple statement and I don't think it's too much to ask.

@hobbsy - are BIAS on this case?

I had a call from the club regarding a query on my 20/21 season ticket. I asked if I could take advantage of the instalment plan, they said yes and reduced my first payment by the amount held in my ticket exchange account. No hassle, job done.

Would quite like my hospitality money back for my group of 6 from the Charlton game. Thats £720 that would be quite handy.

I suppose there’s a minuscule chance that a treatment/vaccine could be suddenly available.... (have a quick Google of companies called Astra Zeneca and Centivax) ...... so, imagine the uproar if the club refunded everyone’s Fulham, Reading and Barnsley tickets and then had to sell them all over again. rofl

It’s probably best to wait a bit longer....

Which is perfectly understandable for them to wait but the most recent communication I got from the CEO included a sarcastic and unnecessary sentence about how great the new coloured seats at Lionel Road are.

I think that Matthew will be seen to be very forward-looking in his choice of colours. Just look at the variety in the home kits this season alone. We’ll be renamed Brentford Harlequins in no time. :sneakoff:

Following contact with the Ticket Office, I got an email today to say that if I wanted to use the money credited to my account from successful sales of tickets on the Ticket Exchange against payment for next year’s ST, to contact the Reservation Centre.

Refunds going out?

Ref. my post #10 on here. Had a call today from Dave in Reservation Centre, confirming S/Ticket instalments will be taken at the end of May, June & July. Also later confirmed by mail from Artur. Other arrangements (eg refunds) won’t be happening until June, when EFL will (hopefully) have sorted themselves out....
