A game that's likely to be quite physical littered with minor incidents, the last thing you need on paper is a ref who'll blow things out of all proportion.


Thinking about it, if a manager gets sent to the stands this season there isn't any room for them?

or in Madley's case, a ref who'll refuse to give any decisions to Brentford at all. Fantastic, especially if uber-thug Paul Robinson is playing.

Unfortunately, I think it was a definite red card and penalty. Poor judgement by Craig - and so early in the match. The ref was poor in other decisions regularly throughout the match though.

Absolute *****. Linesmen new road side also, didn't know what he was doing, so he just decided to guess. Wrong guess everytime.

Thought pen and wasn't surprised to see the red shown. Rest of his performance was shocking. He should be investigated although he may just be totally incompetent.

Bidwell gives the winger a little tug back - yellow card. Winger jumps in and takes Bidwell out, nothing. Throw after throw after throw was taken 10 yards ahead of the play. He really was crap. Got the pen right but still not sure about a red card - Clayton didn't have the ball and there's no guarantee that he would have got to much before Button.

Oh my god, I had no idea until now. I just got home and said to the wife this is the worst and most cheating ref I have seen since LO last year....the same guy...........fk me.

Have to agree, was a very sloppy mistake from Craig with a poor back pass and CD does what he does, gets in front of the defender and goes down. Earned plenty of Pens for us doing that in the last few years only we missed them.

Other than that he was a disgrace.

Would have thought he'd learnt a lesson after Orient away last season - to not be a homer. However took things to the other extreme today. Was an awayer, if there is such a word.

deffo a red....Clayton did have the ball and even managed to stretch and head it back softly to Button......if Craig hadnt pulled him back he would have connected fully with the header......who knows where it might have gone though!

painful to watch, should not be refereeing at this level. I kind of wish the penalty hadn't been a penalty though so I could moan more.

All of the officials today were absolutely appalling. The club should be making some sort of official complaint because the ref must be a Birmingham fan. Disgrace that professional sportsmen are reliant on a useless **** like him.

If he is, he's moved - last year he was big Orient fan.

Absolutely diabolical refereeing display and I don't even think that is a biased point of view. Stonewall penalty denied, no need for the red card although I do think it was a penalty. I thought now we were in the championship we may get a better standard of officiating. Today's ref felt like league one again.

Worst display of refereeing I've seen since Orient away last season. Pitiful and inconsistent. This man should not be reffing League football.

Would like to give the ref the benefit until the FLS tonight but penalty seemed soft and the early red a harsh double whammy against us.
Especially early 2nd half when he denied us a valid and similar claim.
Straight after the pen I am sure a Birmingham swinging arm was seen by the ref. The result, free kick to us, and a talking to. Inconsistent.

A truly dreadful performance, summed up for me by a strange incident in first half stoppage time, when he gave Brum a free kick about 10 yards outside the box. He proceeded to pace out the ten yards, but after ten paces found himself about a yard short of where the wall was standing. Rather than lose face, he instructed the wall to move forward! Don't think I've ever seen a ref do that before. Total incompetent.
