Responsibility

The general concensus of opinion on this board is that Leroy needs to go and go quickly if the club are to survive in this division this year, however I beleive that it is not only Leroy that should be feeling the heat at this juncture.

The board took a gamble when they aoppointed him, it would seem on the basis that he was the exact opposite to MA plus getting some Brownie Points be being politicaly corect in apointing a non white manager. How do they now feel are they, as they should, getting Leroy in on Monday morning and putting it to him squarely you have got us into the mess how are you getting us out. Do they actually have any idea of how Leroy manages cos certainly he seems to lack any motivational skills. Thus IMO the board by their negligance following his appointment share some of the responsibility for the mess we are now in.

However the players too also and perhaps even more so?? bare a great deal of responsibility, we have some youngsters who have been thrown into the mix and quite frankly I would absolve them from any collective responsibility, they are inexperienced and the jury is still out as to whether they are even good enough to be in the team. However we have experienced proffessionals and/or players on bloody good wages who should be leading by example, Kevin, Framps, Brooker, Oli, Heywood all of whom are significantly UNDER PERFORMING. It is their role to lead by eaxample and metaphoricaly roll up their sleeves when the going gets tough. Matt, up to yesterday at least tried to lead the team albeit he has well known limitations. Oli seems to wish he were elsewhere, Brooker was playing well but not leading by example and perhaps the biggest didssappointments are Kev and Framps, both of whom now have the luxury of 3 year deals and sem to be playing within the comfort zone that creates.

Without doubt Leroy now has problems and IMO the time has come for him to move on, however I genuinley beleive he is being seriously let down by his senior proffessionals who at present hardly deserve the support they get on here and who IMO by their actions, or lack of are now worthy of the same levels of support as Paul Brooker got last season!!!!

End of rant and have no doubt P'd a lot of people off but quite frankly it is time to face the fact that somehow there is a cancer in the club that needs to be eradicated if we are to have a future.........and no this is not a knee jerk reaction as it is something I have been saying for quite a few weeks.

Well firstly, I'm not sure there is a consensus - take a look at the poll. Secondly, to call Leroy a cancer in the club is so OTT that I think it's offensive.

Responsibility

I agree with something - it's not all Leroy's fault, the players at the end of the day are the ones on the pitch. I know tactics, motivation, etc. play a big part as well before someone says it, but the players should shoulder just as much of the blame IMO.

Edmondo I did not call Leroy a cancer in the club I said there is a cancer in the club which is different altogether, if you prefer there is a feeling in the club from top to bottom which one cannot put a definitive finger on that the baord are not up to the job, the manager is not up to the job and nor are the players,

 leroy should ask the players if they know how to tackle & if they do why wont they? are they too scared or do they just not want to try?????

Read it again Ed, you owe the fella an apology he isnt calling LR a cancer, hes blaming the senior players at BFC for a large proportion of our problems. And rightly so IMHO

OK, perhaps I read it wrongly and am happy to acknowledge that he didn't mean what I took him to mean and apologise for misinterpreting his words. My personal feeling is that the problem is with some of the players, who are making the bad hand dealt to Leroy even harder for him to play.

Bad hand dealt to Leroy? I agree its a tough job, but lets not make excuses - he knew the terms of coming here. If he didn't think he was up to it, he should never have arrived in the first place.

Care to join me in acknowledging and apologising for misinterpreting what people have said, Brickie Chap? Only difference is that I didn't do it intentionally.

There are only 92 pro managment jobs available, theres a queue a mile long for every one.....loads of people desperate to stay in the game for a second chance or plenty of retiring pros eager for an opportunity.

Some candidates can be more choosy than others but if our hotseat was up for grabs and properly advertised I bet there would easily be 50 or 60 plus applications...regardless of the club`s predicament.
Probably half could be ignored immediately with maybe the other half receiving some form of consideration before a shortlist is drawn up.
Unless its the Bees hotseat we`re talking about, that is lol
