Gerrard is only good at club level because he's the best player at the club (you could argue Torres or Mascherano as well but Gerrard is Mr. Liverpool) and it spurs him on. At England he isn't (Rooney is) and it lets him down.

I don't think it really matters which club the captain plays for as long as they're committed to England. Then again if I had to choose
I'd rather have a Chelsea captain than one who's manager's a thug.

It was recently revealed that Rio Ferdinand will be joined by Una Healy and Martine McCutcheon as they launch a new talent show to look for a sporting star. The Manchester United defender will be a judge on a new ITV1 show called Let's Get Gold. Former England cricketer Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff has also been confirmed as a judge. Excited to be taking part Ferdinand said: 'I can't wait to get started on the judging panel of Let's Get Gold. It's set to be a fantastic show, capturing the nation's sporting mood perfectly. I am very excited to be working with Freddie, Martine and Una in the search for new sporting stars. May the best team win!' The mini-series of three pre-recorded episodes, to be shown on consecutive nights in early July, will feature 15 sporting teams from across the UK battling it out for a £100,000 prize. The challenge for the teams is to transform their sport into the most spectacular and entertaining routine.

Surely he has a right not to promote an organisation, he feels (like Roberts) is a failure.
Unless you want all players to be robotic sheep, blindly following the FA, etc.
Chelsea FC's statement this week proved how seriously the don't take the Kick It Out campaign.
Blatter compounded that with his inaction (so far)

I wonder how Jason Roberts became a frontline pundit for the BBC, seemingly overnight. They tend to rotate their newer pundits or use them sparingly if they're still playing, but overnight it's like bam, here's Jason Roberts on 606, MOTD2, Football Focus and all the rest of it.

The KO campaign is just a pawn in all this as it is being used as a political tool to get at the FA who part funds it.
I always thought the KO was about wider racism issues in football amd aimed at fans in particular. It has done a lot of good work which may well have beem undone by a small number of players who for whatever reason are excercising their "choice". For once red nose is right.
