Rio Ferdinand

Rio Ferdinand

complete and utter nob end

Rio Ferdinand

Roy Keane didn't even mention him in his best United 11

Jaap Stam was definitely better than Rio. Also given that half this message board seem to hate Rio, there's a good chance he wasn't Roy Keane's cup of tea either.

Rio Ferdinand

Cruised out of defence like a Bentley but just got found out when asked to defend!
Never as good as the hype and peaked at West Ham for me.

...............don't hate him,don't rate him.............

Rio Ferdinand

Hes a complete bellend but he was a great footballer, not the worlds defender tho

I must stress I am not saying he is one of the greatest defenders ever! Was one of the best defenders in the world at his peak though, no question.

Rio Ferdinand

I agree. Think England had a result when he retired in the summer, I am sure Roy would of picked him for the WC. Think Terry could still do a job though, but that is more of a reflection on Jagielka and Cahill's ability than anything.

Yup, dodged a bullet on that one for sure. He was very very good in his prime even though I still believe, like Englands Golden Generation, he only ever fulfilled 50% of his potential. We all thought he was going to be the new beckenbaur strolling out of defence with the ball building up the attacks but for some reason he stopped doing that when he was about 21. Now his brother, he really was sh*te.

Couldn't agree more, as I said earlier he peaked as he was leaving West Ham.

Rio Ferdinand

Agreed to join QPR apparently. I've heard that he was Harry's second choice though but he had forgotten that Bobby Moore is no longer with us. Lampard will end up there too - they'll walk the Vets league next year I reckon. :sorted:

Rio Ferdinand

Could be the FA candidate for Britains FIFA Vice-Presidential position.

Rio Ferdinand

Footballer creates £9 cure for insomnia.

It's called Rio Ferdinand's new book.

Rio Ferdinand

Suspended for three games.

QPR are appealing in the grounds it's too lenient

Rio Ferdinand

Rio's problem is that (much like his teammate Joey Barton) he thinks he's an intellectual footballer when it's clear to everybody he's just a bell end

A grade A hypocritical bell end. Hates it when racist language is used agianst him/someone he knows but happy to use it against others.

As far as intelect is concerned, my belly button fluff has more brains than Ferdinand.

:imwith: He's a complete tool who thinks he's some sort of national treasure talking about how he'll probably get involved in coaching to give something back.
I'd rather he crawled back under his stone and we never heard or read about him again.

Rio Ferdinand

The most cowardly hard man there ever was.
Always first on the scene looking for someone to hold him back

Rio Ferdinand

The only difference between Ferdinand and Terry is Terry accepts that people don't like him because he is a bellend and doesn't try to defend himself. Rio on the other hand takes the moral high ground then decides to use a racial slur against Ashley Cole and plays the victim.....

Rio Ferdinand

Plus a convicted drug offender.

Don't like the man, but I don't believe this is true......

Missing an employer required drug test, while naughty, does not make anyone a " convicted drug offender".

Has anyone ever seen hard evidence that he has used illegal drugs and convicted for it in a court of law ?

exiledbee, I'm sure if he was innocent he'd have been contactable that day. He also took out an injunction against a newspaper preventing them publishing a story of an affair that when overturned he had to back down on. He is guilty as a guilty thing and don't think too many believe otherwise.

I used the term in a sporting context, he missed a test and was convicted of that as a drugs offence.
There is no evidence of him using illegal drugs but he is still a drug offender in the strictest terms of his chosen career.
I feel the same about Shane Warne, actually convicted of for using a banned substance and yet treated like royalty when others seem to retain a stigma and can't get a media career off the ground.
His drug of choice was apparently a slimming aid but it was also a known drug for disguising the use of steroids and other banned substances, the officials believed his side.
This is a bit of a sore subject with me, you have Christine Ohuruogu as well who is a darling of the media and yet was convicted of worse than Ferdinand.
In a lot of cases there is a lot of lip service to the anti-drug cause but that's all it is.
I know that at one rugby league final some time a go one of the two samples submitted was urine from a pregnant woman and the other was John Smiths Bitter, neither came back with a query.

Missing tests three times as a I recall caused quite some suspicion which she has never totally thrown off but as you say she seems a media favourite anyway. She also seems to come good on the track in big events whilst is often off the pace in between which sort of adds fuel to the fire as it were.

We booed Ohurugu in our household, she's as bad as the rest of the cheats regardless of how the press treat her.

Used to love watching him sh*t himself when big Duncan Ferguson used to come on for Everton as sub priceless lol

Rio Ferdinand

he's just an attention seeker and he plays for qpr........close thread.

Not going to deny the second part, but if we're going to insult Rio Ferdinand let's get it right.

He re-tweeted someone who called Ashley Cole a 'choc-ice', he didn't shout 'you f**king black c*nt', like John Terry. There's a pretty big difference between the two

He must have been on something to sign for QPeeHa.

What difference is there. What Terry did is inexcusable and what Ferdinand did was the same. They are both racial slurs.

If anything Ferdinand's is worse at least Terry could say he did in the heat of the moment (this isn't me saying what he did was right he was bang out of order), Ferdinand read a tweet could have done nothing but took the time to quote the player and then add lol to it, suggesting he thought there was nothing wrong in what he was saying.
