Ron Jacobs RIP

Im very sad to announce the passing away of Ron Jacobs this morning. Ron had been in West Mid for the last month or so. Many of you will know Ron through his involvement in local Sunday league football and many more will have seen him at home and away games. He has been a true friend to my father and me and he will be sorely missed.

This is sad news. Ron must have been one of greatest supporters, ever. I first went to GP in 1963 and although I never really got to know Ron. He has been a constant throughout my supporting time. He was always there, home or away. R.i.P.

Very sad news. As others have said, Ron was always there, at Brentford. Always willing to chat Brentford, even if you'd never met him before.

R.I.P Ron (Walking Stick Ron) Jacobs

He didn't manage many Brentford game's this season due to ill health his last Brentford game was the Oldham home game. He was a regular at Hanwell Town FC and Southall FC games last season and over the years. He was a big Southall FC fan over the years. He only managed to get to one Southall game this season again due to poor health.

Also he told me he was a member of Ealing cricket club.

I will miss our chats at Hanwell Town, Southall and Brentford games.

R.I.P

Known Ron for many years through BFC and also Sunday side - always had his newspapers with him for the sport - even when he came on one of our football tours to Amsterdam he was trying to find a shop to get his English newspapers - as has been said Ron was a real character and Brentford through and through..another one of the old stalwarts taken R.I.P.

Gutted. Another true legend. Rip mate so sad.

Ron Jacobs RIP

RIP RON MATE!! One of the most loyal bees fan I have known, sadly missed.

Ron Jacobs RIP

Fantastic supporter who seemed to be at every game when I first started travelling away in the sixties. Lovely man, always happy to chat and as others have mentioned, would always have a selection of newspapers with him on which he'd transcribe the Sports Report scores. Lots of us did this in the old days but Ron was still doing it well after we entered the multi-media age. A Brentford legend, R.I.P.

Ron Jacobs RIP

We were only talking yesterday that we hadn't seen the old boy for a while. A true Bees legend shared many a pint down the years either in the Brick or at some far flung northern outpost. Loved nothing more than talking about his beloved Bees or the boxing at the York Hall. Proud to say he was a mate. It's blokes like Ronnie that make you realise just lucky we are to support this special club. If Ronnie had got into Boris' s ear 'ole we'd be moving in tomorrow! !!! God bless you mucker Double up Ronnie, one two one two

Ron Jacobs RIP

RIP Ron . Did he used to be mates with Stan Willis ?

He was still doing that right up to the end :-)

Ron Jacobs RIP

SAD news Ronny passing on ,we were only talking about him last night in the griffin that we hadn't seen him about, one of the most knowledgeable Brentford fans ive known over 50years was one of the original rebels who allways attended court as a character witness for Brentford fans wrongly accused by the northern establishment ?? He had more days off than holidays following bees on away days, he came on lots of my coaches from the bricklayers .Ron was a avid fan of boxing and went to the albert hall on many night with ken the publican then. Loved his beer AND banter allways had his flat programmes with him.Used to live near hounslows old ground and loved the pub on the corner of Denbigh road. The last few years were not easy for Ron stayed above the princess royal due to the kindness of the governor then rob and just recently a flat by the great west road In the words of the Royal oak end , the Bricklayers arms, stripes and the Griffin THERES ONLY ONE RONNIE JACOBS . R I P MATE

Ron Jacobs RIP

R.I.P. Ron.
Very sad to hear this news.

Ron Jacobs RIP

So sad to hear this news.
Ron has just always been there. Lovely, lovely man.
When I was a young Sunday league player he was so enthusiastic to big you up and tell you how good he thought you were (even if you weren't). 'Go on champion, you're better than them'.
He could talk mind. A bit cruel, but I always remember how we used to pass him around the Brick on a Saturday after a game. He would button hole you about that days Bees game or tomorrows Sunday league game and it was virtually impossible to get away unless you called someone else over and said 'Ron, tell him what you just told me, I'm off for a jimmy'.
Yes, he took some stick but we all loved him really.

RIP , A true Bee and a good man.

This has really taken me aback. Very, very sad news.
RIP Ron. It was good knowing you.
Like others on here, I have great memories of this lovely character, from Sunday football days as well as, of course, his fervent following of the Bees.
Always fun to chat to, and very witty, he was a much loved figure at Griffin Park.
He will be very much missed by so many ...
Deepest condolences to all his mates.

Ron Jacobs RIP

Very sad news, RIP mate, met Ron in the 60s, used to take him in my car to many away matches, was manager for Ealing Road Casuals when I played. Will never forget we went to Hereford for a league Cup Tie on a Tuesday night in my car, when the game finished he asked me if we could get back to Hounslow by 10:00pm as boxing was on Sportsnight.

Ron Jacobs RIP

Sad news and as many have said, a proper Brentford fan down the years.

RIP

Ron Jacobs RIP

R.I.P Ron. We spent many Sunday mornings in Iwood Park or Greenhams watching Southerners or Syon Villa some 40 years ago. Ron was good company. God bless you..

Really sad news. Never really knew Ron personally but always said hello as he was a face you saw at every game. From reading this thread its clear Brentford FC has lost a truly great supporter. RIP Ron.

Ron Jacobs RIP

A true Brentford legend. Was only speaking to a old mate from away games in the early 80's last month, who said to me he was speaking with Ron a while back who asked 'what happened to your mate that was always pissed and getting into trouble with you at away games. The one with the silly haircut'. His memory was still spot on.

RIP Ron.....

Ron Jacobs RIP

RIP Ronnie one of the old faces allways spotted at away grounds in 70's,80's and 90's
