I think TB & AS should be given to at least Xmas before we panic. The club is in decline and losing ££££££s, can we afford more pay-offs with then no guarantee of the next appointment being successfull.

But what I cannot understand is why BFC allowed such average and in some cases crap players be awarded with 2yr deals???

Eg:
Brown - Why not Abbey???
Connell
Poole
Pead
Thorpe
Mackie

Were clubs fighting to sign these players? Why not offer a 1 year deal?

Why has the management team assembled a squad with 1 out and out striker and in my opinion he is very average? (I don`t think Ide & Connell are out and out CFs)

Worryingly for BFC I am a ST holder and love going to GP, but this season I feel I will go if it`s possible or convenient rather than I MUST be there.

What's stopping him?

His reputation? He won't like having his name linked to a failure bearing in mind that we are talking about the guy who discovered Roland Rat and carved out a name and nice career for himself.

You should have written "he shouldn't like" as we are failing all over the place, but his silence is deafening at the moment.:(

Exactly my thoughts.I sat looking at the threads last night as the game was being played. Two seasons ago I would of been at the game, every game even Mickey Mouse cups.Last season I didnt go to every game, but it was a wrestle with my conscience if I didnt go,I felt guilty. It was my obligation to go wasnt it?It was my duty.Ive decided to pick and chose for this season.I chose not to go last night. As I sat at my pc,I felt no guilt in not going,I flicked at the updates during the game( two seasons ago I would of sat glued to the commentary)and came back to look what the final score was.Unfortunately,I dont think Im alone in thinking, the thing I once loved is not a good fukc anymore.

Dunno what yer all moaning about. It's now easy to park, no queues for service in the pubs, we can get home early having left with 20 mins to play.........what more could you ask? Perhaps if we gave away the 3 goal head start a bit earlier we might have longer to fight back when the oppo's foot is taken off the pedal?

Wonderfully cynical, Sort of thing my brother would say

Sack Butcher

yet we are getting some good results away from home...as far as i am concerned the jury is still out on butcher and therefore the benefit of the doubt is in his court

The night Butcher was unveiled at the fans forum I knew he was wrong, you ask him a question and he goes round and round the houses to answer, if his team talks are like that it's no wonder the players are confused.
He is the most verbose man I've ever come across. But hey ho he was out of work ( I wonder why ?), been sacked from 3 of the 4 managerial jobs he held and who gave him a job....DYKE. I would like to know who was the person(s) in BU who are responsible for offering the chair to Dyke ?....put your hand up.

Sack Butcher

There is absolutely no point in sacking another managerial team whilst the numptys who have appointed 3 inept such teams in a row still rule the roost.

If and when we ever get owners/Directors who are capable of identifying and appointing somebody with some semblance of a track record (a good one that is not the Butcher or Rosenior type of track record) then it might be worthwhile changing the Manager.

As things stand if we sack Butcher tomorrow we will probably end up repeating the same mistake for a 4th time.

Sack Butcher

well you just going to watch us go down then mate

If the club can find something like £200k to pay off Butcher and if they can persuade Martin Allen to come back on about a third of his wage at Leicester with no opportunity to bring in any new players, I reckon you'll be on a winner. Some pretty big "ifs" don't you think?

Sack Butcher

yes but we have had money and look wot we have crap.dyke should foot the bill as he put this great miss management team together

AND WHAT HAPPENED WHEN WE DID THAT LAST YEAR?????

butchers team selctions and tactical moves have been the worst byu any manager i have seen, so many plyaers were in the wrong position so many key players were on the bench, he hasn't a clue, if he had chosen the right team we would have definetely beat daganhem and pobably stockport too.

he hasn't a clue, he's got to go NOW we don't want a repeat of last year!

out now!!!

Sack Butcher

Wouldnt say Butcher & Scott to go now
but maybe another 5 or 6 games and see where we are and how the team are performing.

Yes, i dont agree with him playing people in wrong positions and Shakes etc on the bench but we never did agree with Martin Allen's tactics some times.
So quit wining

I reckon we will go and beat Hereford and convincingly

Head up.

After 5 minutes last night I actually felt about as depressed as I have done for a very very long time. The ground was empty and D&R had not let us out of our half once and we just hoofed the ball out of the ground every time our defence got close to it. I swear to god I nearly just got up and left after about 8 minutes. It reminded me of the mid 70's when we were just a depressing 4th division team in an empty mud soaked ground.

Although we complain, the last 20-25 years have been a real rollercoaster ride for us with 7 play offs, two cup finals, two championships, 3 relegations and about 3 or 4 occasions where we escaped relegation on the last day of the season to great joy all round. That is 17 odd years where something exciting has been happening. I feel we have gone a full circle and we are back at ground zero with no hope!

Get me out of here!!!!!!!!!

no no no no no....pead was woeful at CM, he was so much better at RB where he played in a league winning team for the whole of last season.

Sack Butcher

If you aint going to play Kevin RB then leave him as sub.
If you aint going to play Thorpe CF leave him as sub.

If your going to leave Shakes on the bench.

Play Pead CM after getting into League XI last year.

Then your ****ing mad !

Sack Butcher

Play Pead CM after getting into League XI last year.

He was selected for the league XI as a right back. A certain man called Dobson was keeping him out of Central Midfield position at Wallsall.

Sack Butcher

Why?, because he was moved to centre forward about 30 seconds before they scored?

That was the Dagenham game, wasn't it? Fairly sure he was at the back when Stockport got their 3rd (though up front for their first 2)

On the evidence of his games for us:

'Pead is woeful anywhere'.

No pace, no physical presence.

Pead is NOT a midfield player - we have enough lightweight midgets there already.

O'Connor is a far better full back (and midfield player) than Pead.

Pead's Bees career so far..

4 mins (a) Bury
20 mins (a) at Wycombe
45 mins (h) Stockport
First start and 90 mins (h) Daggers.....

I'd say he was worth a bit of patience, after coming back from ligament damage, and getting back to match fitness....let's not write off players after just 1 league start.

Yeh well he did get crocked by some lummox at Hampton. I'm prepared to give him a proper post-recovery run-out too before he becomes the next Paul Brooker ;)

Who the **** is Paul Brooker?

Sack Butcher

We are stuck with TB now unless he gets so pissed off he walks out. Cant see that happening though. Other clubs were not exactly queuing up for his service were they. Anyway he's probably (with Dickens) on a nice little earner with BFC. It's not his fault regarding team performances. As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink.Unless he gets some money from somewhere, things wont alter I'm afraid.
How we miss Owusu. He would have got a hatful of goals in Div 2 with his pace and strenth.

but a chinese toy must contain lead

 please...if that sums up the thninking of the BUTCHER OUT posse, then us blind optimists have nothing to worry about....

usual doom and gloom on here ..give the management team a chance....then moan.

I tend to agree, Andy Scott, is scapegoat numero uno at present.
If anyone should leave, it should be him.
Butcher said, he knew nothing of the lower leagues when he came to us and was reliant on Scott bringing in the necessary players to do the job for us.
He has failed on this task. The players we have brought in are lightweight, young novices, which is not what is needed for this Division.

Butcher in my mind (& Scott) have not done their homework on the teams we are playing against in the future. That is evident to see. You need to do lots on miles on the road, travelling up and down the country, watching your up and coming opponents and seeing what their strengths and weaknesses are. They have not done that.

They should also know by now, what players should be playing in what position. Thorpe is definitely not a centre half. He was partly to blame for the third Stockport goal and the penalty tonight against Dagenham and then there was that sending off ! The man is a liability in my eyes. Definitely not a centre half and I've seen a lot better centre forwards.

When Moushino came on as a sub tonight, there was some fight in the middle of the park and one crunching tackle he put in, just in front of Butcher, brought no emotion whatsoever from our Manager. He just stood there, arms folded. Maybe that is why our team play with a limited amount of passion, because this is being conveyed by the Boss. I was hoping he would encourage such spirit from Moushino, but no, he just stood there, oblivious to everything, or so it seemed to me.

I despair with my Football Club right now.

Greg Dyke knows nothing about Football and in my mind he should've brought in a spirited up and coming Manager, from the lower leagues. Someone who had something to prove, a desire to succeed, a hunger. I just don't see that in Butcher. But Scott to go first please.

Seem to remember GD saying Brentford could be the West Ham of West London, well we are not even the Dag & Red. of West London, perhaps we should now start to align ourselves with the likes of Ebbsfleet, if the worst should happen and the dreaded R word is the result, how would we manage as we are stuck with most of the players on 2 year deals, and break even gates are said to be 4250, it would be interesting trying to achieve these attendances in the conference.
