Sack The Board

I've said it before and I'll say it again....These useless idiots who are in control of BFC are a disgrace...They have manipulated and lied to the fans on several occasions, they don't have a pigs ear of a clue how to run a football club ,and worst, they haven't got a brass farthing between 'em!!! What do we need 'em for, they ain't no good....What use will this message board be if there is no longer a club to post messages about???? These comedians should fall on their swords and BU need to elect people with some ideas, vision, money and experience.... :sorted:

Sack The Board

who exactly....where are all these rich people with nous who want to take over a broken backwater club?

We need solutions not rhetoric!!

........lets start with David Heath. He's been swanning around in the south of France for the past ten days whilst some of us have been sweating blood and crying tears over this club........does he care.......he's too busy texting me telling me about all of the wonderful French cheeses he's been eating and the fabulous wine that he's been quaffing and furthermore...........:(

P.S. He's just emailed me to ask how Patterson and Waddock are settling in.......:banghead: :mad1: :banghead:

Leave my tool out of this :nono:

No-one in their right mind would want to take on Brentford. £9m in debt, going down, a useless playing squad and an untried manager.

Like it or not we are stuck with what we have with the exception of E Rogers although it would appear that removing him could cost the club money we haven't got (see other forum).

I'm all for getting people in but this is a fans run club (hohoho) and BU would need to ensure that whoever came in wasn't a control freak a la Noades. To be frank I think we've a lot of heartache to come before things get better!

2 directors on holiday? Scandalous.

Sack The Board

A laudable idea but as has been said who on earth would want to take on such a proposition as Brentford, if the current board leave and we all know the position re loans etc, then unless you can find supporters who quite frankly are prepared to spend cash like it was going out of fashion and do not want it back at any time soon I guess we are more or less stuck with what we have got!!!

I would however suggest that BU need to grow some balls to ask difficult questions, particularly bearing in mind they are represented on the board, and being an open and fans run club report back to the masses with I would suggest, there 3 year plan showing how they see the way forward, no pie in the sky talks of new grounds but just a simple overview of how they see things going with falli8ng gates and rising expenses!!

A rocky time lies ahead for the good ship Brentford and I fear that things will get a lot worse before ( hopefully) an upturn is seen and it is vital that BU now show that they are there for the ride and can exert some control over what is going on, failing that if there is no obvious control exercised then quite frankly one has to wonder whether they should be classed as a fund raising supporters club and leave the actual future of the club to the Directors to either fail or succeed depending on their honour!!!!

Get that Dan Tana out. What's he done for us? And as for those Davis brothers....

Best post by far today rofl

Am I being a bit thick here Christom, but isn't this what BU basically do. ie raise funds. They certainly do not seem to have much clout at bfc board level. The board has failed this club. They make monies available now, then why did they not exercise this task in the close season? Hence more ££££'s wasted down the Brentford football club drainpipe.

Phoned me on Boxing Day evening to ask if we had climbed out of the bottom four yet??

Sack The Board

Start with www.beesunited.org.uk/. I think you will find that the role of a BFC board member is not to empty his pockets into the club.

Silly me, and there I was thinking the board members were supposed to working FOR the club.... That explains why they are only interested in SELLING players for peanuts then!!!!

Board members are either BU representatives, an organisation that has loaned the club £1.4m with the others being investors who have loans in the club interest free of another £1.5m. Slightly more than a brass farthing. If you add Altonwoods £1.25m & local council £500K loans, you will need someone with at least £5m and sufficient money to guarantee a further £4m bank loan. So £9 to £10m may well oust the board. Any ideas who that may be?
Do you not think that if there was someone out there prepared to part with this sort of cash they might of done so already.

Sack The Board

He texted me to say that he'd been in contact with Greenholme who informed him that we'd got stuffed 4-1 by Millwall, are now six points from safety and that Fitz was in the hot seat.
He then went on to say that as nobody listened to anything that Greenholme says (as it's mostly bullshit) that he was now celebrating our win on Boxing day coinciding with our climb out of the releagtion zone and raising a glass of Black Tower to the fact that the playing team was safe in the hands of Patterson and Waddock.

Sack The Board

There's no hiding from the fact some of the choices by the board have been shocking.

In fairness, I think the Board are all getting tarred with the same brush..

Agreed, to the average fan, the decisions are seemingly made in unison (and I didn't mean 'average' as someone lower in loyalty than others), but as far as I can gather there is a genuine 'split' in the Boardroom on the final decisions that are made.

What we need to establish are 'who' and 'why' are some seemingly having more power than others.??

If we are going to get down to the bare bones and have a heireachy (or however you spell it) then lets havea pecking order of those at the top who have paid the £250k for the priviledge followed by those who could only muster up £200k..

I would however prefer it if all decisions were made together in an equal vote, that surely is how a boardroom is meant to work..

I have from time to time asked for a Brentford Board to resign..unfortunately this time around, there are a couple of them who are genuinlly trying to make a difference in my opinion.. to call for all their heads is possibly and most probably wrong..

The above is only my opinion for what its worth..

I don't think so :nono:

The sale of DJ Campbell probably changed the whole future or the club. Martin Allen was moaning about it on SSN the other day.

We needed the money and as its been reported on here so many times, how can you stand in a players way of improving his career and six folding his weekly wage?

Sad, but those are the facts...

I have an idea!

Why not advertise in the papers, Football club for sale. See if we get any interest.

Any better ideas

Its the interest on the debts thats screwing us too!

Isn't it illegal for board members not to have equal votes unless in exceptional circumstances? Or surely at least it would have to be in the Memorandum & Articles of the company?

I suspect they DO have equal votes, and that majority rules. If there is a "split" its presumably a philosophical/strategic disagreement (eg "spend lots to stay up" vs "lets not as we'll go under with any more debt") that then surfaces every time an important decision comes up.

And if you're going down this line then you need to name names, or preferably the board members themselves need to name names. If not, then as far as I am concerned every board member is responsible for the boards decisions.

So what you are saying is that as you don't know what the situation is then you will proportion blame equally. This being despite the fact that you could have a bloody good guess as to who on the BFC board does some good and who doesn't. Remind me of this next time you stand for election

I wonder what the MA fans would be saying now if we had NOT sold Campbell and regardless of whether we went up or not the latest accounts showed a £1million LOSS instead of the half a million we now have?

MA was only interested in one thing....His EGO and how he was viewed in Football circles. If we had gone up does anybody really believe that he would still have stayed with us with just one year left on his contract?
If Hull or Palace had offered him a job he would have been off just as quickly as if would have been Rangers or any other established "bigger" club.

Thank god and small mercies we sold DJ because if we had not we would be in administration by now for certain IMHO

Come on then, name some names as to who does good and who doesn't, and the basis for your view?

As far as I am concerned then unless one of those involved in the board meetings is prepared to break ranks then they should all be held accountable. And I'd be saying the same if I was on the board.

Totally agree. The board members have to be big enough to stand together. I really hope we aren't going to start hearing "nothing to do with me, guv" messages coming from any of them or their mouthpieces.

Sack The Board

Well no one has texted or sent a private message to me . There is so much in fighting and wheels within wheels and secrecy that I despair. In the meantime the inexrorable spiral to oblivion continues. We must not think of the club before pension payments which of course must be the priority.

This thread is about sacking the board, which in my mind ain't gonna happen however much some might want it to.

Shaggy as you well know both Boards operate under the banner of collective responsibility.

BU Board members, including myself, have posted on here before about the behaviour of other BU Board Directors and been roundly criticised for it because some people don't want to hear what is going on at Board level, they want comprehensive action from the two Boards. Are you saying that you would like BFC and BU Board members to name and shame?

although i see he is not taking the same view with McLeod - and MK Dons are asking £3million for him!

mind you, they also appear to have some money.

it doesn't have to be in the mem and arts. parties can agree as between themselves in a shareholders agreement that certain decisions will be retained for the shareholders (i.e. the board won't act unless shareholders approve it) and otherwise, there are often arrangements whereby certain business cannot be conducted unless a certain director approves them (usually what is termed an investor director) - you would never ever see a private equity deal, for example, without such provisions. Directors though do then have the tricky position of legally being required to act in the best interests of the company, but it is in their opinion that counts.

a good chairman usually tries to get consensus rather than forcing through votes.

Nope, just saying that its no good people bemoaning the bad decisions that boards make and then assuming its a couple of bad eggs which lead it in that direction. If people are going to claim that then THEY ought to name and shame.
