No, I couch sat that one ;) Hence why I think he's good this season ;)

In all fairness most of our players have had off days, Forrester had an off day tonight and Saturday but he's still a player with a lot to offer.

Came on. Made the vital assist. Don't see him starting at Chelsea though. His experience will be useful in the run-in

work rate is always good i think and normally his dead ball delivery is as good as anyone in the squad (take Yeovil out), definitely a good person to have in the squad.

Just flicking through this thread is so funny ! We are so fickle ! It goes from get rid to first name on the team sheet back to get rid then he should be given more of a shout back to get rid and now he's a good squad player. He would start for most league one sides and is one of the best with a dead ball in this league. He might have bad games but he is definitely useful and he should consider himself unfortunate to be behind forshaw harry and Donaldinho.

He hasn't the pace to play as one of our wide men in current formation so probably he is best suited to be an alternative to Forshaw at present where he can have license to roam and play ore central and make team tick.

I'd say he's more an alternative to Forrester, our luxury player who is capable of a game-changing moment but also capable of a zero contribution. He's also the 'experienced head', as is Barron, to see out a game. Both positions on the bench.

As he almost certainly won't be here next year I would rather look to the future and use any opportunity to play Dallas.

He has been our saviour at times during his time with us, it's never been for long enough but we've had 5 game spurts where he was the only reason we weren't slashing our wrists.

Aldershot under Scott would be the last place Sam would ever go I would imagine..his time under Scott was probably the most miserable of his career

Listened Sam on Beesplayer,sounded a bit bunged up but pleased to get a start and a cracking goal ,WELL DONE Sammy showed we still need him.

Great finish and he did well considering he is a right footed player on the left of midfield! Got most of his crosses in to the box and played well.

Agree on both, but I also thought that by H-T, Crawley had figured out that they just needed to stop him cutting inside/force him out wide onto his left foot, so that he faded.

Tbh, if Harry doesn't play on Left Mid on Saturday, I think I'd start Barron there? (unsure)

Pleased to see Sam back ...remember posting on here a couple of months ago in response to some who wanted him released that he would have a role to play at some stage of the season...its a squad game now more than ever and looks like he may get a chance again on Saturday. When everyone is fit and firing Sam wouldn't be in the starting IX ...but thats not going to be the case all the time and he is still good enough to make an impact as he did last night...fantastic strike.

Sam's trouble is that over his Brentford career he's always needed 4 or 5 games to get back into the swing of things, after any period out of the side. So dropping him in for 10 minutes here or there doesn't see the best of him.

Unfortunately at this stage of the season IMHO we can't afford to wait for those four or five games.

Just seen the goal and it's a great hit. I think he's a decent solid player and shouldn't just be used to lump it up the pitch IMHO.

Was just going to say, just seen the goal and looked way better than it did on Tuesday. Cracking finish !

When it looks likely that Forrester and Forshaw will both be watching rather than playing on Saturday, personally I'm very pleased to see that Sam is around.

Sam has looked decent in his cameo roles of late before his start on Tuesday. Happy he's available for selection and shows why we need depth and options in the squad.
Sam was one of the few that the diamond suited last season but he's not as effective out wide in a 4 man midfield as the likes of Adam and Harry as lacks pace to go past his man but still a footballer that can do a job and help get us up.
