Whatever you may think if the chanting at Palace they did create one hell of an atmosphere and I would imagine it is something the players could respond to. Flag waving and chanting makes it a pretty intimidating place for away players

So true I think, I watched certain Liverpool players throughout the game (Skrtel, Moses, (Sakho - esp) the look on their faces during the game had a look of uncertainty & in some cases, fear. It was like a reversed situation - usually teams are fearful of Anfield and it's famous atmosphere/Kop End etc... and for once, they ('pool) were made to face an intimidating and vociferous crowd at Selhurst. Whatever the reason for letting a 3-0 lead slip, BR tactics failed him, especially when the score was 1-3 & 2-3 - instead of bringing on Moses & Coutinho, he should have brought on Agger and possibly Toure. However in my view, well done Palace fans!

Bit like some of the Chelsea team at GP last year. Oscar in particular didn't appear to have any idea what he had walked into

Exactly like the Chelsea game. For Chelsea, everything at GP (the Bees crowd, pitch, dressing room/facilities) was completely out of their comfort zone which was why it was such a terrific day!

Not exactly the same - the Chelsea game was a proper atmosphere not orchestrated European style chanting and flag waving like Crystal Palace do.

Didn't realise it was orchestrated, however irrespective of that it was damn impressive

I didn't see this particular game but am imagining it's the same as Crystal Palace have been doing for a while whilst calling themselves "Ultras".

That's a bit harsh on Palace, 0-2 down and they were bouncing about and celebrating like they'd won the FA cup, must have inspired the players?

I didn't see this game so was more a general point about the way they chant and all that "Ultra" carry on they do. Constant noise is good but I'd hate to see that kind of thing spread in England.

Hate them but Pompey used to sing non stop and create a great, intimidating atmosphere at Fratton when they were in The Premiership.

I do understand what you're saying, that style of chanting does appear continental; however, it If can galvanise or spur a team on like it done for Palace, then that In my view, can only be a good thing can't it?

They definitely did when they first went up - shame about that bloke with the bell lol

I'm impressed with the likes of Oldham, not much to shout about recently but create a proper atmosphere near enough non stop from what I've seen. Hope GP can be a bit more like that next season as it could be a great asset for us at a higher level.

In a way yes, but then I'd say put that effort into decent chanting non-stop and it'll have the same effect whilst sounding far better.

It might be me getting all nostalgic and only remembering the good times but as a youngster and when we were poop I remember great noise from The Royal Oak at most home games and 3 sides of the ground rocking regularly.

It would be great to have a packed, noisy GP and a similar home record for the last two seasons at GP.

Could yet be Liverpool's if City lose their last game...

Unfortunately before my time but would be brilliant to have that kind of atmosphere next season to build on our already top home form at a higher level. Together with the feel of GP would help hugely in the Championship.

Im been informed that the pies at Norwich are lovely. Thanks Poyet and Sunderland!

And Fulham of course

Newport County on a Friday night in the LDV southern final springs to mind. The Royal Oak was truly rocking that night. Still one of my best home games I have experienced.

Still remember not being able to sleep all night after that game as was so wired! I was only 12. Funnily enough my Dad never told me off that night :-)

I must of only been 11/12 then and one of those games I have never forgotten. great asset destroyed ... One of my biggest regret of being a Brentford fan is that I never got to stand more at The Royal Oak

It looks and sounds abysmal. If they made as much noise by chanting properly it'd be impressive.

Don't agree and I would suspect Palace and opposition players would say it does have an impact.

City have won 16 home games from 18 this season, can't see it myself..

Sunderland beat them
There's about a 10-1 chance West Ham can park the bus and win on the Carroll Nolan hoof counter.

It's not over yet. Not sure Liverpool will beat Newcastle though!
