Sepp Blatter

is he dead yet? if not close thread!

Sepp Blatter

It was illegal here in 1966, didn't stop us winning, though.

Sepp Blatter

This latest episode is a bit overblown to be honest. He was asked an uncomfortable question to which he gave an uncomfortable response to, hence the laughter and thoughtless comment. In the modern world though it is still an important issue which Blatter is going to have to get better at handling.

Has anyone considered the problems that unmarried straight couples can have in Islamic countries? 2 men will have probably have fewer problems sharing a hotel room, as long as they can control themselves the rest of the day. They should probably also learn the Arabic for "Our wives are at home, looking after the many children that God has blessed us with."

So leave the girlfriend at home, don't hug the guy next to you when England score, and thank Sepp later.

Sepp Blatter

the World Cup 2022 will be sh*t with no beers or queers. who can get rid of Blatter, only the Grim Reaper??

Sepp Blatter

He's just apologised:eek::eek:

And it's not April Fools day...

Sepp Blatter

except maybe the alcohol one

Israeli gay pride pub crawl with a pork roast at the end?

is suggesting the 2022 WC will be in winter, personally I dont really mind as in the summer it will be boiling and an awful tournament plus the players will be a lot fresher halfway through, aslong as we qualify a 3 week break for the regular football season would be fine by me.

Sepp Blatter

A winter world cup could be the seed that causes the greedy/wealthy clubs that play in the Champions League to break away from FIFA & UEFA control. The clubs won't want to lose players for a long time or be disrupted in the games they play so might just decide to go for their closed super league format and tell FIFA & UEFA to go and find other players to play in their tournaments.

the other problem is the qualifying would be condensed into a year earlier.2020 euros then all qualifications completed by end of 20/21.maybe play offs in august draw in september.if world cup in january or febuary then season stops end of november or december at least till tournament finishes.stinks.affects europe more than anybody.i want to see israel qualify.what they do then? having been to doha in february i can tell you its very hot.same for december.well done fifa

Sepp Blatter

Holloway should be put in charge, he would soon sort them all out.

doubt it, sure he finds it easier to go "waa WAA WAA!!" than come up with useful suggestions himself

logistical nightmare. it's gonna be interesting to see how (if) they can pull it off. can't see it going Simon's way but it's not implausible. absolutely hate the way football's going...

Sepp Blatter

A world cup would need a seven week break which would disrupt European football for at least two if not three seasons if held mid winter.

I guess the FL could carry on regardless as most players would not be involved but it would create havoc with relegation and promotion issues.

This could be FIFA's nemesis...its a complete farce. UEFA need to push for keeping a summer tournament and try to find ways of working round the excessive heat problem..maybe having all night games, possibly teams being able to base themselves in cooler climates and fly in for games..who knows. One thing for sure fans will be the least considered group.

The way its going one wonders if the world cup will exist in 2022 as we know it. It has already been suggested that some nations may opt out by sendng an under 23 team or something similar. It looks like FIFA have planned this knowing it will bring to the fore a powergame between the european nations/ clubs the rest of the world.

FIFA criticsized our bid because it clashed with Wimbledon fortnight, this tournament will not clash with anything in qatar but will with all of the major domestic leagues in europe and possibly the african nations cup.If EUFA object to a winter tournament then they must withdraw all of their member countries from this tournament despite EUFA voting for this selection. The qualification process alone for europe is already congested enough so having up to 12 competitive games within a year, august 2020 to june 2021 say,is also a nightmare for our domestic game.Bladder knew this though before the vote,so why should we be surprised.

This slightly dated article might provide a theory as to why the World Cup is going to Qatar...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8948515.stm

Qatar Football Chief, seen as Blatter's biggest rival for FIFA presidency bid, stands down in the next FIFA election. Instead he'll become the Asian Football Confederation president.

From the BBC: "The Asian bloc, the biggest football confederation in the world, wields 46 votes in the presidential election and will play a vital role in deciding whether Blatter continues his reign."

A few months later, Blatter reveals the World Cup is going to Qatar.

A happy deal for Bin Hammam and Blatter :suspect:

Saw this a while ago with quotes from Beckenbauer saying how he hopes they can reach a "compromise". I wish the press would go all out on exposing the high levels of corruption at FIFA.

Sepp Blatter

I wish the Swiss goverment would step in instead of the British press and try to expose them once and for all..

Sepp Blatter

What do you reckon - the asian hasn't got a hope in this election - blatter has too much bribe money going around

Remind me where the "asian" is from again??

Then remind me where the 2022 world cup is?

Then realise who was under whose "power" and what payments were made to whom

Blatter OUT!

Sepp Blatter

Would be out of the frying pan and into the fire if all is to be believed. Don't trust any of them.

Why would you appoint to the head of the worlds largest global sport someone who comes from a country which in effect hardly even plays the sport?

Sepp Blatter

Blatter is obviously using the same PR company as Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Sepp Blatter

Sepp Blatter

what a mug if it wasnt for the english football wouldnt exsist!

lets close thread untill he dies!

Sepp Blatter

Sepp Blatter is to meet with the Football Association chairman David Bernstein in London on 4 April.

The Fifa president, standing for re-election in June, is stepping up his international campaign to win support

I hope they till him to **** off. the spinless lot at the FA might just be honest for once..:mad1:

Sepp Blatter

I'm almost starting to view this thread with the same excitement as the Ronnie Biggs thread.

Sepp Blatter

Nothing will happen, there is actually nobody who can take action against him.

Sepp Blatter

Shame he hasn't been overthrown along with Gaddafi, Berlusconi. No placed for mad dictators whether in football or elsewhere.

Sepp Blatter

This thread would be more fun if somebody supported Blatter, is there anyone available willing to take this role on for the good of the gpg?

Sepp Blatter

Blatter is a c*nt. Where's Graham Turner and the PFA when you need them?

I listened to the interview and i think on the whole he is right, this is an isolated incident and racism is not rife in football.in all the years ive been going to GP ive never ever heard a racist word uttered

Sepp Blatter

Do you mean Gordon Taylor? He's actually said 'resign'

A host of top figures in the game have moved to condemn the comments of the Fifa president, with Professional Footballers Association chief Gordon Taylor leading the calls for his resignation.

Blatter out: Taylor calls for his resignation
‘I just feel it's the straw that broke the camel's back,’ said Taylor.
‘When you see the corruption they've had at Fifa, the comments he made about homosexuals not going to Qatar, the way he talked about women's football, the style of the arrangements for the World Cup, the fact he won't have technology.
‘I think it's really time to move over for Michel Platini.’

Sepp Blatter

Is Blatter significantly different to the 'old farts' of the FA? Out of touch, out of time. Nevertheless, there's an element of sense in what he said (if you actually listen to the interview and hear it in context) but he does make it easy to shoot at him. I guess our FA godfathers are kept locked up better.

Sepp Blatter

the rest of the world doesnt even care about what he said..we need to wind our necks in and the fact our own england captain has been accused of racism yet still representing our country is an absolute joke
