Sepp Blatter

The problem is outside of this country does anybody give a damn what he said or in some cases even disagree?

Whatever we think of Blatter and FIFA we are largely on our own when it comes to wanting any change.

Blatter will no doubt dress it up as a misunderstanding and that evil British press out to get him yet again....

Sepp Blatter

If people actually look at the picture as a whole, they will see that Blatter has effectively defended the English position and therefore for once has actually taken the side of England, by effectively legitimising the position taken on John Terry.

Personally, I still think he is a **** and I am now bored with calling for him to resign almost every other month.....

Think he might be more interested in the case involving Suarez who is pictured on the home page of FIFA's website....

Blatter has the best gig in the world - accountable to absolutely nobody.

The English FA have a bit of an agenda with the bloke so we can't really be seen to take the lead on this. Unfortunately, no other nation seems to give a toss.

Couldn't rely on Gordon Taylor to pursue this with any vigour anyway. He effectively let off Tevez stating that the bloke was "already warm enough"!

To a man, they are all a bunch of m1nges.

Sepp Blatter

Yes, thanks, appreciate your and hanworths attempts to turn this thread about  now you mention it he's one classy dude :sorted:

Sepp Blatter

Blatter's got a lot to answer for...he's just woken that ***** Garth Crooks up.
At least Blatters comments justify another 12 months employment for those running the 'lets kick racism out of football' campaign.

Sepp Blatter

FIFA are to trial 'Goalminder' a goal-line technology gizmo at Spotland today. Will they leave it on for Saturday.

Sepp Blatter

Well, the fallout from Sepp's recent behaviour has gone quiet. Let's be honest, he survived the FIFA Corrupton Scandal™, some totally inappropriate comments about race were never going to cause more than a ripple.

Sepp Blatter

Who trademarked the Fifa Corruption Scandal?

Sepp Blatter

Not surprised are you??
Whether it was right or wrong of Blatter to say it... We don't do ourselves any justice by our stupid media team to 'uncover' these stories BEFORE a vote... Why could they not show these after the votes whether we win or not?

Sepp Blatter

I wouldn't piss on the bloke if he were on fire.

He is a complete and utter joke and I cannot believe he hasn't been shot, shopped or both. He is the one instructing the enquiries, which will have to go through him.

I'm expecting them to find nothing untoward.

When they gave the WC to Qatar it was hot. The hot summer hasn't just turned up, it was fecking hot before they got the WC. They seem to be wandering around as if has only just been bought to their attention.

Interesting Quandary for FIFA if they move the World Cup as they want as can't use Jan/Feb as will clash with Winter and Oct/Nov clashes with the main American Football coverage in the states where Fox have wall to walk coverage. The same Fox sports that have agreed to pay a small fortune for World Cup coverage

Fox will prefer American sports coverage so will look to cancel the contracts in view of change of date !!!

Seems Blatta has managed to piss off the main Europen FA's Australia and America, not a bad performance just hope he has managed to pocket (allegedly!!) a sufficient wedge to make it all worthwhile !!!

Sorry to go all 'Rorschach' but the truth doesn't work to fifa timetables. The idealistic 'journalist with integrity' (they may or may not exist) should transcend political/sporting convenience.

Notwithstanding that, those who printed the articles did so in the full knowledge that the timings would seriously damage the prospects of our bid.

Yes, undoubtedly. But if one considers themselves to be a serious journalist (and a football fan) they can't have their cake and eat it.

It's possible they weren't football fans? In which case they probably didn't even waver :( I don't think we would have won it anyway

Sepp Blatter

Bloater appears to be more teflon coated than Tony bLiar, who made the triple teflon coating a must wear political fashion statement.

Sepp Blatter

This world is full of corruption.

Blatter has said whatever happens, the world cup will remain in Qatar. FIFA will have to pay compensation to third parties if the timing is switched but that cost won't stop the determination to keep it in Qatar. The big problem is that there's no way FIFA can possibly return all the brown envelopes. FIFA is rotten to the core. The major countries should break away and form their own rival organisation.

Sepp Blatter

he wants to stand again to potentially take him to 88 years of age.what a ridiculous state of affairs that a man of even his current age of 77 is still head of football

Lets not muck about. We all know that fifa is corrupt and it wasn't suddenly uncovered that afternoon. They didn't need to start the witch hunt on the eve of the vote. They didn't need to undermine Sven with his personal life a few days before the world cup started. They didn't need to undermine Cappello in the few weeks before the WC and again before the euro's so agreed to stand down before it started. They did not need to bring up some made up racial "scandal" the day after we qualified this time round.

Wait until next may and all the stories will be in the gutter press about our players etc as we build up to the final. Anything they can dig up about rooneys childhood will be on display the day before the first game even though they have sat on the story for 4 years.

Fifa= ***** & scum
Gutter press = ***** & scum

Sepp Blatter

..............is he really that bad???????............

I dont know if it is just me but it always saddens me when I see how old he is. Some time this corrupt organisation will tumble and heads will roll, unfortunately that fat pig will have eaten his fill and be on his deathbed having taken everything that can have been taken in his long selfish life. He will not be around to pay for his crimes.

Sepp Blatter

Stanley Rous was head of FIFA until age 79 and João Havelange was head until 82, so Blatter's got years left.

Sepp Blatter

I wouldnt be surprised if one of his equally corruptible relatives ends up taking over!

Does not surprise me at all as he can't retire given what he is no doubt hiding about all the various allegations against him and his regime over the years which he has very skillfully side tracked. As long as he remains in power he can keep a lid on it all, once he is gone there is a huge risk to him with regards to his legacy/reputation and who knows even legal investigations.

I have no doubt that one day history will judge him for what he is...but that day is seemingly a long way off still.

Sepp Blatter

They may be corrupt but at least football has become a genuine world game which was not the case in the past and this is one of FIFA's achievements, albeit probably the only one. As to Qatar, I think it should be played over christmas which will be a change from crap films and adverts for Iceland.

Instead of the adverts featuring Kerry Katona's family sitting round the table eating turkey, her family will be sitting round a TV and throwing their plates of turkey up in the air in slow motion as England score.

Sepp Blatter

They are making a film of the FIFA with Gerard Depardieu as Jules Rimet.
Sepp Blater to be played by Tim Roth.
Not sure if this is an elaborate hoax.

Sepp Blatter

Just a thought if the World Cup was during the winter, the likelihood would be that Leagues 1 & 2 will carry on. So for arguments sake if the divisions were as they are today, would you watch Italy v Paraguay on the TV or Brentford v Shrewsbury somewhere in West London?

It has become a genuine world game because the WC is in Qatar......yabba fukkin dabba doo!

To be honest that is a bit of a "so what?" Is it really sooooo important that it becomes a world game that it is necessary to take it to a country that hates sport, hates gays, hates women, hates football but is so frickin rich it can bribe fifa to bring the biggest money making tournament to its shores. Is that really what "making it a global sport" is really about? They are building 50K seater stadiums in towns that have a population of 5K and no bloody football team, how can that be taking the sport to the world. Do you think they are suddenly going to have a team in the champions league. It is utterly ridiculous and totally corrupt, don't be drawn in by the lies about taking football to the world etc etc.

Sepp Blatter

I would be keen to know why Sepp is so against any technology, including third-party timekeeping like rugby or post game reviews to cut out diving and cheating. I am not sure if it is all down to having the same conditions on Hackney Marshes as in the World Cup Final.......

Excellent post.

Unlikely IMHO due to the problems that would be created for promoted and relegated teams. I can see the whole football pyramid being affected.
