To be honest that is a bit of a "so what?" Is it really sooooo important that it becomes a world game that it is necessary to take it to a country that hates sport, hates gays, hates women, hates football but is so frickin rich it can bribe fifa to bring the biggest money making tournament to its shores. Is that really what "making it a global sport" is really about? They are building 50K seater stadiums in towns that have a population of 5K and no bloody football team, how can that be taking the sport to the world. Do you think they are suddenly going to have a team in the champions league. It is utterly ridiculous and totally corrupt, don't be drawn in by the lies about taking football to the world etc etc.

No it wouldn't, it would only affect around 1-2 players per premiership team. Its all the other team qualifying that would leave the clubs with no players.

Your pretty much close to the truth there. My brother was recently out in Azerbaijan working at a FIFA junior tournament. The local committee were there to impress the FIFA delegates. They even flew in the likes of Rhianna and Shakira to put on shows to coincide with the tournament. My brother has worked at the last two World Cups and in his opinion Azerbaijan is still a long way off from capably hosting a major tournament, but then again what difference does that make when FIFA delegates get personal audiences with female megastars.

I just think the season will start a lot earlier and finish a lot later. Quite rightly, clubs wont want to lose out on hosting games in a reduced season as that affects income. Blatter has never grasped the concept that football is not just a sport but an industry that directly and indirectly employs hundreds of thousands of people across Europe, and that other people apart from him and his family make money out of it. As for Leagues 1 and lower, I think it will be business as usual, avoiding any England matches and games from the Quarter Finals onwards.

On top of all the 'slavery' working conditions for those building the stadiums in Qatar, they even keep players against their will in the state..... This so-called nation doesn't understand football, has what seems over the top laws forcing people to do things against human rights such as show affection, or even leave the state!!!

This French player was refused an 'exit' visa on the basis that he signed a contract to stay x amount of time but due to unpaid wages etc he wanted to leave. So they refused/unable to pay him, but also refused to let him leave and earn a wage elsewhere..

Does anyone at FIFA have a clue? Why could they not have stepped in much sooner? If FIFA had stepped in and said 'Look, you can't keep him here earning nothing - send him home or we're moving the World Cup elsewhere...'

Nations really should start to think of breaking away from this corrupt organisation.... Only one reason why the World Cup is in Qatar - MONEY. Their proposals included Air Conditioned stadia, artificial clouds etc... stadiums may well still be, but the clouds seem pointless as the Summer bid is now a Winter one...

Unfortunately despite everything that goes on there is no way the World Cup will be moved as a lot if money has changed hands to ensure it is there!!!

The only way any change could be effected would be if the major Football Leagues got together and suggested a boycott or breakaway governing body. However once again money is the guiding decision so everything will be swept under the carpet and FIFA UEFA etc will continue on their merry way lining their own pockets !!!

Not a chance, apart from the Brits who cares anyway, they are all at it?.

Huge question marks hang over both the 2018 and 2022 awards (Half the people who voted in the 2018/22 debacle have gone under corruption allegations of one kind or another) but there is too much at stake to change anything now.

Anybody seriously think Garcia's report is going to make any serious allegations of wrong doing over 2022? Blatter is a world expert in cover ups.

I don't believe that Garcia's report will come up with anything. It should be conducted by an independent lawyer who would seek out the truth. Keeping it in house will only add to the sense of cover up.

FIFA is a totally corrupt organisation headed by equally corrupt individuals and is not fit for purpose. The only way things will improve is for the real associations of world football, getting together and founding an alternative organisation. Can't see that happening though so it will be the same old, same old, until it dawns on the leading countries, that FIFA is just a gravy train for the elite few.

This slime ball will get another four year stint, thanks to Asia, Americas, Africa and Russia. UEFA don't have the balls to upset the games leadership of FIFA.

If the 46 plus members against Blatter all backed away from the World Cup, then the sponsors of the WC could hold the cards to whether Blatter is forced to walk away. If UEFA just say, it's wrong and does nothing, then football will continue to be a closed shop without transparency.

Blatter has no credibility, and doesn't want to give up the job so that he can continue in his lifestyle. What the hell is an 80 year old doing running a young mans game. That applies to half of the FIFA exec. They have no real interest in football. Head if FIFA should be limited to no more than two terms.

To many no, but truth is for many countries he does particularly in Asia and Africa where he has ensured FIFA investment into grass roots football for best part of 40 years. They love him...and to be frank a bit of bribery on the side as a result would not bat any eyelids.

He is seen as pushing their cause against as what they see as an arrogant and dominant Europe.
