Saw a Villa fan tweet and reckon our squad was worth £30m.

Sounded like a lot at first but then realised he meant that it was relatively small. I began going through our squad and doing sums, but I’d like to hear what other people think. My view:

Bentley - £3.5m
Daniels - £150k

Dalsgaard - £750k
Henry - £5m
Clarke - £1m
Field - £250k

Barbet - £4m
Mepham - £1m
Egan - £2m
Bjelland - £500k
Sorensen - £200k

Woods - £6m
Yennaris - £1.25m
Mokotjo - £750k
Sawyers - £2m
McEachran - £500k
McLeod - £250k
Judge - £500k
Kerschbaumer - £250k

Canos - £4m
Watkins - £5m
Jozefzoon - £750k
Archibald - £100k

Vibe - £1m
Maupay - £1.5m
Shaibu - £75k

Total = £42,025,000

Whichever would get us.... 56.03% of Virgil Van Dijk.

I am probably way off the mark with some of these. Would be really interested to know what everyone else thinks our players are worth...

Watkins is currently by some distance the most valuable player in terms of potential transfer value IMO. I think you’re £4-5m light.

I think you’ve undervalued Egan, Judge and Kerschbaumer. Possibly overvalued Jozefzoon, Bjelland and Vibe if you take their length of contact into account.

I can't imagine anyone paying £4m for Barbet or £3.5m for Bentley. And £5m for Henry seems extremely optimistic. We paid £1.5m a short while ago and most of the time since then he's been injured so how could his value have gone up so steeply?

The £30m total suggested by the Villa fan might not be entirely unreasonable.

I think if someone wanted Watkins in January they would be parting with nearer £8m-£9m.

Sawyers would be nearer £5m

Also you went low with the values due to the injuries with Judge and Mcleod which I understand but presumably you should apply the same logic with Henry as well?

Not sure how you got a value of £200k for Sorenson based on zero performances in the first team so far.

I think you are light on a few of those. The other factor that is that we probably would sell some of those for the value you suggest but with hefty sell on clauses

As whyteleafbee says above, I think £8-9m would be the sort of level someone one be having to pay for Watkins right now. I think he really is that bright a prospect.

Hard to say really a lot of value is in potential so I doubt we would let Mepham go for anywhere near what you say. Similarly Sawyers.

Last night just goes to show that winning isn't all about inflated transfer values its about teamwork and value for money .

If anyone offers £1.5m for Maupay just let me know when you want me to arrive to drive him there myself.

i appreciate that it's a curio "for discussion" but i think it'd be quite a nerdy discussion down the pub - most normal people would surely shrug and say "who cares", cos what does it really matter?

what about Villa's squad value? would it be any better? i doubt it - Hogan would struggle to command a fee at the moment, etc. so not sure what the Villa fan's point would have been. but there's a lot of bitter Villa ***** on twitter at the mo. it's quite funny really lol

The test will be if a top team comes to invest in their future with Mepham, if we can all see what he is about so will all the scouts.

Where would you call the sale point over the future ?

Watkins is probably the player who would command the biggest fee even now so I 'd increase his value.

The rest I think Nico is worth a bit more and Barbet about half your value at the moment and Mepham before too many games will be circa £5M given the bin dippers have just paid £75M for Virgil Van Dyke

Incredible to think that only 6 or 7 years ago we weren't paying transfer fees and only once in a blue moon did we have players that we sold and made money on or who went onto play at a higher level!

We were a plucky, game battling team who occasionally upset a bigger club in the league cup but were happy to be a mid table third division club, happy days are here.

Button, Dean, Colin, Jota, Tarky, Hogan and Gray went for as much as was expected I reckon.

Was hoping for more from Moses, Dallas, and Bidwell

We were never going to get more for Moses due to his exit clause. £3m or nothing!

Expect the club and Alan Judge hope he can get back to something like his old self and someone will come in with an offer around say three million for us and double wages for him.

I genuinely think you have undervalued all of our players here...bar Barbet! I would imagine that the club will over achieve against each of the players if and when we sell!

Sawyers would command a fee way more than £2m Imo.

He probably isn't just yet but will be very soon if he maintains progress. I would wager he'll be our record transfer received within next two seasons if we're not challenging for promotion or already in the Premier League.

He'll play in the Premier League unlike Hogan

That's what I make it as, certainly not bad....but £30m the Villa fan said is definitely too low.

Not a fire sale at all, we have proven time and again that a fire sale offer isn't acceptable and get to a value that someone is willing to pay that the club club also deem acceptable. In some cases over priced!!!

Just shows how quick Football changes.

As I think it is now safe to say that one on this lists value can safely be revised upwards. I for one at the time did not really didn’t think you were far out.

Happy days especially as we still have him for now :)

Looks like being a busy summer for the DoF. Several players with contract up or in the final year. Add to the potential offers we could receive. Around 12 players could be in discussions.

Bjelland now has no transfer value as he is out of contract in the summer, 500k for Josh, I think we would have taken that if anyone offered it.

What I heard is that DOF have put Lasse on commission, if he can sell Josh in China, he gets a decent cut

Tbf I thought he might appeal to a Chinese club, could see him excelling there and he was once the next big thing at Chelsea.. just what they want

Percentage wise money spend against worth now I would say we are way ahead of Villa.

Of course. Just a bit of fun.

The only area I think we seem to be in significant disagreement on is Nico. Young-ish, versatile, captain material and can score goals. I would have thought he might be worth a pretty decent fee

His worth to us is higher than his apparent value to others. He's unflashy and versatile. Opponents don't quite notice him in the way that they regularly single Woods out as making us tick.

Surely this should be what the club believe the players are worth; i.e. do you rally think if we received an offer of £500k for Nico we'd sell him? I would have thought players like Nico, Mokotjo would be minimum £2m before we would even entertain selling.

Canos value will have gone right down, Mephams up. Wonder if we might squeeze more out of Kersch in the summer too
