Stuart Dallas - Old thread

Sorry to have mentioned that I emailed anyone about anything, not looking for any glory but totally astonished that his name has cropped up again.
Anyway it's too much pressure if he turns out to be crap.

Alright dont keep going on about it:yawn:;)

Stuart Dallas - Old thread

According to lots of Twitter posts today, he has signed a pre-contract agreement with Brentford "Well done to Stuarty Dallas on securing a move to full time football with Brentford" "Want to wish Stuart Dallas all the best at Brentford, always good to see a player from the IL get a move across the water. Fair play to him"

Stuart Dallas - Old thread

Sounds potentially very good signing. Hope the step up from IL to Championship isn't too much for him. :)

Stuart Dallas - Old thread

So Uwe's trips to Northern Ireland may not have been wasted and Rory Donnelly was a smoke-screen. Maybe McGinn put is a good word for him, as well as NB (that should relieve any pressure).

What exactly is a "pre-contract agreement?"

Stuart Dallas - Old thread

Because he can't sign a contract, its a contract to say he'll sign a contract when he's allowed

Twitter appears to be split between those who think he hasn't yet and those who think he has but it hasn't been announced. Looks a likely deal - love this kind of signing!

Stuart Dallas - Old thread

According to twitter, he signed for Leeds, though it was dated 1st April.....
I hope its a wind up tbh, would be absolutely gutted if we missed out on this fella, he sounds like he could be absolutely brilliant!

Stuart Dallas - Old thread

Few crusaders fan seem sure he is leaving them to join us.

If it's up on the gpg as a news item consider it a done deal. The mods are practically the board nowadays.

Stuart Dallas - Old thread

Crusaders' Stuart Dallas hasn't signed for Brentford but I understand there have been talks. Expect developments soon

That from a journalist based in Belfast.

I put it up and I promise you I have no inside track. :) I just gauge it on the noises made and this one seems to have some merit.

Hey Guys, I'm a Crusaders fan/season ticket holder. Stuarty got called up to the Northern Ireland squad last year and got game time too. Sicne last year hes not had as good a season either due to the talk of a move to England or the defenders sussed him out. We used him as a left winger, but IMO hes better as a striker or just off the strikers. When on song hes a top class player, great runner, strong, great shot on him.
I would say its about 95% you will get him, he is in talks with Brentford, wont go to Blackpool as they tried for him last summer and offered too little a wage, where he would have lost on money, baring in mind hes probably on £100 a week, if even, and works as a welder.

How do Blackpool justify offering such awful wages? There was speculation in the press that they had offered Robbie Fowler £100 a week until Fowler came out and confirmed it was actually £90!!!! He was offered a deal whereby if he played 90 minutes he was due five grand a game but of course he might just have been subbed after 85 minutes or so. With the greatest of respect, it defies belief that you could go from Crusaders to the championship and take a pay cut! This is the same Blackpool that are accused in the paper today of offering seats next season at £990, (this season they cost £391). I hope this signing comes off, it sounds a good one.

Hi ConnorCrues. Thanks for taking the time to give us some info. Stuart will be much better off signing for the Bees of Brentford. We have top quality fans that have a good knowledge of the game. We are a club that is slowly building for the future. Uwe Rosler loves his players, and the man is starting to achieve things here at GP. Stuart wil get game time here a lot quicker than at a higher league club. The future is red & white stripes mate . Trust me I drive a 200 mile round trip to each home game. We have quite a few exiles that make the pilgrimage to GP London is still a top place regardless of what folk from the north of England say, they are just jealous and do not know how to enjoy themselfs > So If you see Stuart , tell him the boyz at Brentford want him and it is time to sign uo. YOU BBBEEEEEEESSSSS.

Thanks for the info, am sure all one the GPG will appreciate the information. I'm trying not to get too wound up about this until he has signed. Was really excited about Donnelly until Swans came in and stole him. He has however only scored one goal for the reserves since he signed for them, so maybe I was wrong and had no need to get excited.

Blackpool have form for this, before Tyrone Barnett signed for Posh, Blackpool wanted him, offered Crawley serious money for him, then offered Barnett personal terms on less money than he was on at Crawley. He didn't even bother driving up the M6 to discuss it further.

I would be amazed If Blackpool got to Dallas over us. This is good scouting by Brentford, Rory Donnelly got away from us just, but proves we are scouting well.

Yes and the club are obviously planning for next season. I really expect some good signings early in the close season and maybe some unexpected departures.

I will say to Stuarty hpw excited and well taken the news is as the club are very close-knit and theres a v.good relationship between players and fans, with players regularly socializing with fans. I would say RE the Donnelly signing and his one goal for the reserves that it will take a while to bed in to training and playing everyday compared to PT where its a full time job and training on a Tuesday and Thursday night with Saturday games.
Personally speaking, having been to a Gateshead vs Ebbsfleet game earlier this season when I was over for the Tyne-Wear derby (NUFC fan) I would say that the standard would be between Conference and League 2 standard. Stuarty's form could also be now down to him being 'too good' for the league he is in ie players not reading the game as quickly as himself, has happened with a few players. Keith Gillespie most notably.
I could stick a small write up about Stuart's performance vs Glentoran at the w/e if you like. Also you can follow the official @Crusadersfc on twitter, which I myself do matchday commentary.

Cheera mate. Hope this signing does happen cause it sounds like a potentially great move. I feel like the biggest change is from full to part time rather than it being a quality issue. Doubly so when that switch comes in Jan.

Wow, football club in sensible player wage structure shocker... :). @Blackpool

Thanks CC. A match report would be good, I am still worried that this deal will be scuppered by a bigger club, and will have my fingers crossed until he actually signs.

You and me both mate. Really hoping for some positive news as soon as possible. He ticks every box.

When he's signed we can comment. Too much history of players being nicked from under our noses.

My Mum was a geordie God rest her. and she spent most of her life in London. She was a NUFC fan , her idol being Jackie Milburn. She even admitted how friendly London folk were, and thats good coming from a geordie. If football league clubs (English) are looking, he must have something about him. I hope he teams up at Griffin Park, he won't go far wrong there.

Speculation is all very well but I think this thread started with someone leaking some privileged or private information.

If that was in fact the case then I wish that he had kept things quiet until matters were either finalised or if there was something published in the media after which it is of course fair game.

The News story went up because it was on Twitter.

Wasn't referring to that Les.

I just think it is wrong to let the cat out of the bag.

Logan posted on twitter yesterday that he has been ill. I have no problem in that being mentioned on the GPG, however if I had been told the same news in a private conversation then I think it's totally wrong to disclose things.

a crusaders fan who's dad works within the club said dallas is signing a pre contract with us.

talk of the gpg stopping a signing because someone has let the cat out of the bag and another club steps in is nonsense

I am saying that irrespective of whether there is a consequence or not , confidences should not be broken.

It was the 'Newsletter' over here in Northern Ireland who first ran the story. I cant see any 'bigger' clubs coming in as his season this term was under par as previously stated.
And everything that goes on a Crues is pretty much known by every supporter and his dog due to the closeness of players and support.

Stuart Dallas - Old thread

Been chatting to a Crusaders fan today who has been in contact with a player at the club.
There have been discussions but nothing has been signed. Apparently Dallas is un decided.

Stuart Dallas - Old thread

Just shows what a good Manager Uwe is to be looking that far forward and glad he has the opportunity to do it this close season, which he didn't have the opportunity to do last close season.

i agree nlb. all this has done is alert other clubs or scouts or agents.

i presume we now have a freelance scout in ireland but it is doing us no favours if he or she or someone they know blabs things out.

unless it is an agent trying to up his client's value?

Other clubs and scouts already knew about Dallas last season, he's not a new kid on the block. :sorted:
