Stuart Nelson

Let's all go down to the training ground on wednesday at 10am in Jersey road (we're all invited)to see who's fit and raring to go.Then we can put this thread to bed.:sorted:

Went to the training ground this morning. Arrived at about 11.15, only to find none of the 1st team squad in attendence exp.............Nelson driving out as I drove in.

Looks like they had a day off, 'cos only Fitz and the youth were training with Barry Quinn in the gym.

JB....;)

Suspect that Nelson was there for treatment of his injury

Stuart Nelson

there were other injuried players in today as well. guess they must get time slots they can't all be treated at the same time surely

Stuart Nelson

He didnt look injured on Saturday and was walking freely.

lots of views on this including broken bones in his foot, loan deals and one radio station said he'd been in an accident. He was limping when I was walking behind him leaving the ground and he was in the passenger seat in his own car when he left the car park

I saw him driving his vehicle cos he waved at me as I manouvered to give way and he had someone unknown to me in the passenger seat...hmmmm.

We heard from posters that had been to the Training Ground that Nelson had an "ankle injury" 15 minutes after being told he wasn't playing today.

If it was a ploy of Nelson's to be "injured" rather than "dropped" it's backfired enormously. He could have been between the sticks today. Reading between the lines I believe that Leroy doesn't believe the injury story; and doesn't want someone that invents injuries when their place is challenged. Leroy has then displayed strong management and let Nelson join his flatmate at Swindon.

This is all speculation of course.

However it seems certain that a deal was agreed with Swindon. Masters's sending off may change that in the short term.

I was at the training ground when the incident occurred and there was definately an air of feighning injury as pissed off about being dropped. However later the ankle was seen to be quite swollen so that put paid to that thought. The timing meant we could not get someone else in on time to go oon bench.
Nelson was in the Directors box until Masters was sent off and went down to see him straight away. He was also encouraging Mousinho for rest of 1st Half.

I have not read all the way through the thread but I believe the Swindon thing is dead in the water for two reasons, one the obvious lack of a keeper for Sat and two Wise is off to Leeds. When he gets there he will be looking at his staff and if he fancies Nelson then it could be a good move for everyone. Masters will be off regardless in January!! So the hunt is on for new keeper/s anyway.

Stuart Nelson

I fail to see why Masters will be off in Jan as he has no league experience and has barely featured for us

I agree with you but Steven Bywater at Rochdale had hardly any experience before his transfer to West Ham.

It was def Nelson in the passenger seat and his girlfriend driving (well I guess as he had been holding her hand when they left the ground) when they came out of the carpark after the game

Sorry FM I mis-read..I thought you were refering to the training ground today!lol where I saw him driving out of the TG. Maybe getting his gf to drive away on Sat was a ploy to make us think he 'was' injured as he knew there'd be supporters milling around the area.:fishing: :fishing:

Jim Stannard, big or not, is well respected in the goalkeeping circles as is John Griffin in the scouting network and for finding good youngsters. JG is tipping Masters to play for England (see Sunday National press) and Arsenal definately watched him at Northampton by arrangement (ie it was known beforehand that he would be playing, giving scouts the opportunity to watch him). Tottenham have also been keeping tabs on him for six weeks (see the other thread from Friday).

Giving him a few games now in the first team ousting a very good keeper who has kept many clean sheets over two seasons and who incidentally had only conceded 100 league goals over the same period and who had virtualy been an ever present, simply adds to Masters reputation.
Good business sense, if you ask me, played a part in his selection for Saturday.
The brighter ones amongst you posters will get my drift!!!!

or maybe his girlfriend is working today so he had to drive himself - well there's a thought. Never seen her hanging around the training ground

.......... Please don't post more of this.

Don't be a spoilsport markbfc as there are many who like to be the 'I know but can't/won't tell you' group and without these little rumours think how boring the gpg would be!

Oh! It would be factual and therefore full of real news rather than tittle tattle that worries some of us unnecessarily!

Perhaps it is Nelson who has attracted Spurs and they have been keeping tabs on him for the last six weeks! Oh! Dear, that's another rumour started!

very true MA was known to bench players when scouts were in to watch them!!:nono:

Stuart Nelson

Who did he train with last week? Brentford or Spurs?

I thank you!!!!lol

Poor old MarkBFC does not like it when he does not know everything that is going on does he? Maybe a trip to the training ground might help him?
Tues Weds and Fri this week my dear boy

I know we're a bit strapped for cash, but I must have missed the announcement about the club going part-time.

Most of what you post regarding training ground rumours are mostly untrue.

I have no idea who he trained with last week but I know Spurs have not been looking at him for the "past six weeks".

It was not last week it was the week before to be factually correct. And yes they have!! Prove otherwise if you are so well connected

Put that in your over inflated opinion of yourself pipe and smoke it.:D

Stuart Nelson

FFS lol

Where did he train last week!! Its not difficult surely :(

lost your track Brickie Chap but in answer to your question from what I know or have been directly told, last week he trained at Osterley on Mon, Thurs and Fri and the week before he trained for one day with Tottenham. Not sure which day that was.

Stuart Nelson

Bit rich coming from you! :D

I've never seen The H post unwisely about what goes on at the training ground. In particular never seen him allude to line-ups and injuries before a match.

Others should learn not to post sensitive information that could undermine the team..... After the match post what you like.

Did Neil Shipperly tell you this or one of the extra 1000 he would put on the gate a week?

Stuart Nelson

Perhaps people should stop undermining the team and the management team full stop....
Not one of the players goes out there with the intention of having a bad game. Certainly some members of the team are more passionate about their job than others but you get that in all walks of life. Also it is a job for these chaps whatever the supporters think and they have to, in the end, think about their own careers. As long as they give 100% while they are at Brentford football club that is good enough for me and then I will wish any of them well when have to move on.

Stuart Nelson

sh!t or bust now for Nelson, he either pulls his finger out of his anus and thinks hey i want to make it as a goalkeeper i want to be remembered for playing well for Brentford and moving up the league and playing at a higher level

or

he carries on as johnny big potato with his 4 times 4 vehicle giving it i am the big un image and ****s off back to Hucknall where he's playing away to Barrow on a cold winters night in January.

Have a think Stuart and let us know you have been here 3 seasons ask yourself have you improved as a keeper? ask yourself if if want to fullfill your potential. No one is ever bigger than the club, no matter what club they play for.....

get a grip Banana, do you really think that Oldham or any other team in League 1 are only capable of finding out who and what their opponents are planning by scouring UNOFFICIAL websites!! :nono: You should know better!

These websites are for the fans of the club who want to know what is going on before they arrive at GP at 2pm on Saturdays, for fans who live and die Brentford as I am sure you and MarkBFC, Simon etc all do.
Dont ruin them by forming a mini mafia and dictating what can and can not be aired by fans who register. That can surely not have been your intention at the outset of all this. There are only 12 fans who regularly attend the training ground and I can assure you that when something is aired out of line, mischievously, or could cause offence to the club its staff or players then the officials of the club would let those fans know as MA proved last season.
The training ground believe it or not is a lively place for debate and discussion and the group of fans that attend ALL to a man and woman love BRENTFORD FC as much as you or any other poster on this website do.

Without topics for discussion and differing opinions you would not have a website!!

I would ask around if I were you.....

Any news from the oppositions training ground is sought out. If you don't believe that then you are wrong ;)

I'm not stopping you from posting whatever you want, I just ask that you exercise judgement before you do. That's all.

Maybe your right...........

But lets consider this, my statements which you alluded to without naming me occurred on Friday around 2.45pm by which time Gillingham would have finished training. Had they seen them would they have decided to change the tactics that they would have been working on in training on Thurs and Fri?
Did they look like a side that was new Carle Carder Andrews was starting or that they knew anything about him? Were they worried about Tomlin on the right or indeed and more importantly did you notice how well Chris Moore played on Saturday???

Judgement is always exercised and know matter what I thought I saw on Friday morning I was still not 100 % correct with my observations and predictions. How can any professional club rely on that type of info??
What Scout could make a living this way?

i now refer you to the last line of my last post.

Stuart Nelson

just a rumour surely??? Nelson hasnt been totally crap?? and why give away our first choice keeper with no cover!! not even Leroy is that stupid.
Nelson is NOT crap he has the odd bad game sure but dont they all. how many times has he bailed us out eh i for one would like to know where the hell he is
